county police are sorting out a chaotic afternoon in claymont. what started as a traffic stop and ended in a deadly confro confrontation. >> that suspect was shot and killed in claymont, delaware, it started at 2:00 with reports of gun fire at 24th and market streets. the suspect was shot after he crashed two miles away from here. >> reporter: that is right, this is still an active scene, a tow truck just arrived to haul away that suspect's car and that car is making its way down philadelphia parkway. now, this started as a county police trying to stop a suspect in a separate investigation along market street in wilmington and that suspect refused to stop and crashed here in claymont. the car at the center of the car crash and the suspect was at

24th and market and police tried to pull him over and instead of stopping he led them on a wild chase. on philadelphia parkway. >> it's officers attempted to stop him and the suspect would not stop and crashed in the area of philadelphia pike and washington street extension and the suspect fled the vehicle and fled on food. and suspects chased the suspect and atemmed to apprehend them and a confrontation ensues resulting in the shooting of the suspect. >> pow pow. you don't put it together until you see everything out here. >> we don't know if the suspect was armed and people were taken to the hospital for val yags. the vehicle was towed away but

it's sanktive scene and a portion of that road is blocked off and we are monitoring the situation throughout the evening. >> thank you. new here at 5:00 philadelphia police want your help tracking down the man that attacks an 81-year-old woman in broad daylight trying to take her purse. sara bloomquist is live at northwest detectives this evening. you have the latest on the search for the suspect? >> reporter: brian, that is right. philadelphia police are telling us that the 81-year-old victim did put up a fight. she was target bid a much younger man that stalked her for a short time, punched her in the face and got away with some of her most treasured belongings. the new septa photos show the suspect traveling aaround the city on public transportation on a bus, concourse, going through a turn style. police believe he is the man that targeted and attacked an

81-year-old woman on march 20th. >> if he can do this to an owl-year-old woman he is capable of doing this to anyone. >> it was the second of two buses she had taken to pick up money orders for her church and a car pulled up alongside here. >> the male exited the rear passenger side and immediately approached her and grabbed her handbag, they struggled and the strap broke and the man ran back and the driver ordered him to return to the victim. >> he punches her one time in the face and he is able to get the bag with cash, bank cards and the money orders that she had taken two buss to get and a prayer booklet. >> and the suspect first noticed the victim on the bus and followed her off and summoned a friend with a car to follow the

victim and then escape. police need help identifying him before another elderly victim becomes a target. >> this is an incident where he physically struck an 81-year-old woman doing work for a church. we are asking for the public's assistance in identifying this male. >> did speak with the victim off camera and she says she is doing okay. she wasn't physically harmed too badly. she was most upset about losing their prayer booklet and items for and from her church. live in the logan section, i'm sara bloomquist, channel 6 "action news." the search is on for three men that brutally beat a 25-year-old as he left a restaurant over the weekend. it happened saturday near the could have beener of b and tioga in the city's kensington section. watch this video it shows the vicious attack where the suspect repeatedly punched and kicked

complaints and several companies pulled ads because of that. he was with fox since october of 1996. and congressman from utah is the chairman of the house oversight committee and known for leading the investigations into planned parenthood and hillary clinton's emails, he also clarified that he will not run for any office next year but there is speculation that he may one day be a candidate for senate or perhaps governor. the seat for the sixth congressional district is headed for a runoff in june. john ossoff a democrat got the most votes beat ougt a crowded field of republicans but not enough to seal a victory part of a special election seen as an anti-trump movement by democrats that want to take back the house in 2018. despite that the president is claiming the runoff as a victory
