progressing through the area and you may see a shower or thunderstorm firing up ahead of that. nothing like the morning hours though. this is spotty in nature through the afternoon and evening. cool with 55 degrees and lots of clouds in philadelphia. but you don't have to go that far to find the warmth. 73 in washington and 78 in richmond and 77 in roanoke. the warmth is bottled to the south and west. and getting the temperatures to climb up into the central half of our region. lets look at future tracker, this showing a shower or two popping up and 4:00 a quick thunderstorm and very spotty nothing like it was earlier this morning at 7:00 this evening. if there is a couple of showers around that is about it. as far as the showers this afternoon. you may see a shower or thunderstorm, and it's going be spotty and not everyone will see it but we are stuck with clouds.

station. >> residents woke up to news of heavy gun fire overnight outside of their homes. >> i am not surprised. everybody has a gun no a days. >> philadelphia police say that 11:30 thursday night shots rang out at the intersection of north 15th and conlynn streets just a couple of blocks away from the police station and police responded and saw a car take off and guns were tossed out of the vehicle and two men described as persons of interest were brought in for questions. >> are you surprised this happened here? >> nothing surprising me anymore sweetie. >> shell casings were found on the ground and one narrowly missed a man asleep in his home. it was later found is a leap in his bed. >> he was blessed. a freak accident could happen to anybody at any given time. >> but to police there seemed to

still on the run. police released this video of one incident that happened last week. and they have hidden the woman's identity here and you see the man come up from behind her and they grope her and he runs off in the other direction. police just released the rendering of how the suspect looks. if you have any information you are asked to call police. we are learning more about the gunman that opened fire at paris's famed champs-elysees. one the biggest tourist spots in europe. the attacker pulled up alongside a police vehicle and got out and started shooting with a military style weapon. >> it was absolute chaos. and panic. with all the people here on the street. people were falling down. >> one police officer was killed and the suspect was also shot and killed shortly thereafter. officials say he was a 39-year-old man from france that spent years in prison for trying

to kill to other police officers. isis claims responsibility for the attack that comes just days before the shotly contested presidential election. and the teacher accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old student is over. that student is expected to return home to tennessee where she will reunite with her family. >> reporter: the nationwide manhunt for elizabeth thomas is finally over after the 15-year-old tennessee teenager was found deep in the woods of california. thousands of miles away from her passenger home. >> we couldn't be happier to tell you she will soon be on her way back home to tennessee. >> she is apparently healthy and unharmed. >> safe but living through a harrowing journey. her teacher, tad cummings accused of kidnapping her.

the police got a tip they were hiding out in this cabin. >> they took tad cummings into custody and safely recover elizabeth without incidents. >> they went by fake names, john and joanna, and that cummings told him that the girl was 24 and she remained silent. >> she was stand offish. and he was talking for her and keeping her away. >> once he realized who they were he called 911. after more than five weeks with nearly 1500 leads from all 50 states with sightings of the pair from tennessee to georgia to oklahoma to they're fineal destination in california. police are finally bringing her home. >> we'll get her the help she needs. >> cummings faces state and federal charges including aggravated kidnapping and if

the man accused of a deadly shooting is rampage in fresno, california is expected to court for a different murder charge. corey ali muhammad allegedly shot a motel security guard to death last week. that muhammad carried out the hate crime on tuesday after hearing news report he was a suspect in the motel murder. and we are following developing news from california, a wild fire is threatening dozens of structures and it sparked yesterday afternoon and burned 1500 acres so far and firefighters think they have managed to stop the blaze's forward progress fueled by strong winds as you can see there and four homes were in danger of burning and crews got there in time to prevent any damage. a new york city firefighter died while battling a blaze at a queen's apartment building,

taking a live look at sky 6 hd looking at the beaches in cape may. not necessarily a place you want to be with pockets of rain on and off. but it's friday. >> and sometimes that is the only good news you have. it's not raining much out there, that is other good news for you. just clouds. looking at stormtracker 6 live double scan around the area, we are basically dry just a sprinkle trying to form near wilmington. we are not anticipating any showers or a thunderstorm until later on this afternoon even that will be spotty. now going outside live and the clouds are hanging tough as we look live at sky 6 hd. the energy stadium.

a lot of low clouds this morning and fog was an issue. temperature 55 degrees and dew point 51 and the air nearly saturated and the winds are out of the northeast light at 6 miles per hour and the ocean temperature 54 degrees. satellite 6 along with action radar showing we are socked in the clouds and a few hours of rain that moved out through your morning commute but as you look wider, here is the front that crosses through the area, a live look at the eastern satellite. the front is out to the west. and as that draws near it could trigger a shower or thunderstorm in one or two places. and you see the winds are still out of the east-northeast in filled and we are just at 55. and go to the south raleigh 82, the warmth is there and we are not able to get in touch with that yet. the wins are outs of the east-northeast. if you travel farther south of the city, south jersey and delaware you'll be closer to the warmth and it's numbers are
