>> we love gray. >> reporter: look at this, shades of gray as we look at philadelphia international airport. a lot of low-level clouds this morning and patchy fog and showers pushing through now, especially across south jersey and delaware. as we flip it over to storm tracker 6 live down scan, we're zoom into southeastern portions of burlington county. we're seeing a cell lifting north out of tabernacle, southeast of the 206/70 circle there. it's pushing east at are 5 miles per -- 5 miles per hour. where you see the patch of yellow, the shower is steady, and more steadier rain is working into south jersey in salem and gloucster county. as i've been mentioning all morning, the coverage will expand over the neck to hours, we'll see pockets of heavier rain. a couple of areas could see brief, and steady shower.

the temperature is raw, 51 in pottstown. 53 in malvern. 54 in glassboro. 53 in fortescue cumberland county. forecast for today, lots of clouds, morning rain, leftover showers, get used to the wet weather because there's more of it in the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. i'll have the details in just a few minutes. >> look forward to the update. folks, 6:02 a.m. new information to tell you about this morning, someone shot a man sitting on the front porch. police are working to track down the shooter. this happened outside a house at 18th and susquehanna streets around 2:15 a.m. detectives say a man walked up to the 31-year-old victim sitting outside and opened fire shooting him several times. right now that victim is in critical condition. police have not released a motive. no arrests have been made. the white house has put the city of philadelphia on notice comply with federal immigration authorities or lose millions of

dollars in federal funding. this all coming as the trump administration cracks down on sanctuary cities across the nation. jeff chirico explains. >> it's been very clear, it should not come as a shock or surprise that a letter of this type of would come from the administration. >> reporter: the letter says they must cooperate in order to continue to get the grant. >> they are protecting illegal immigrants committing crimes in our community. >> sanctuary city policy make us safer because they improve the communities. >> the approach of attacking

sanctuary cities is an approach based on fear. >> reporter: the federal government demands will make i am granls -- immigrants less likely to report crime. >> they will be less likely to cooperate and answer subpoenas. >> reporter: representative white doesn't buy it, in addition to the federal funding the city could lose she swriewsed a bill to with hold state funding to sanctuary municipalities. >> it's in the hundreds of millions of dollars. it's something the city should take into consideration whether to maintain this policy. >> reporter: she said the mayor believes the city is already complying with dperl -- federal law, the city must provide proof to the justice department by

june 30th. at city hall, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> a bold bank robber, targeted a bank steps away from a police station. authorities in delaware county need your help to identify the criminal. the man held up the td bank in astin, the crime happened yesterday afternoon. police released the surveillance picture of the suspect they are looking for. teller believes the suspect had dread locks tucked underneath the hat. he made his getaway in a two door chevy cobalt. state police say he led them on a chase and lost control of his car i-95 in bristol. the front passenger, 22-year-old was killed. lewis and two teenage passengers

were injured and taken to the hospital. allentown fire department said it needs more fire trucks, but the city's mayor disagrees and said the department is playing with politics. fire crews say they are working with a shortage of equipment and driving trucks ten years old. a new truck is on the the way and two more will follow. >> we're looking all the time how to buy new vehicles and replace the vehicles and make sure they have the best equipment available to protect them. >> the fire union sailed -- said -- >> the mayor said the request for new equipment is being highlighted because it is an election year. 6:06 a.m. we could learn whether it is life in prison or the death penalty for eric frein. yesterday the jury decided the fate of the convicted killer. they heard the emotional testimony of the mother of brian dixon who said she does not hate

eric frein, but wants him held accountable. he ambushed the trooper in 2014. tom wolf stripped lieutenant governor of the state police protection that followed complaints about how mike stack and his wife treated troopers in his security detail. state attorney general investigating the abuse allegations due to complaints about the mistreatment of employees at the lieutenant governor's residents. stack a has since apologized. u.s. senator bob menendez is going on trial in september charged with bribery and conspiracy. he acceptedded $700,000 from

florida doctor and lobbied officials on his behalf. menendez is not charge in the florida case. a chester county sports apparel company will have to repay its customers, radiate athletics in west chester raise $579,000 for shirts that promised to change color in response to body heat. the attorney general josh shapiro gave the company until this week to deliver the shirts, they failed. now they must pay $56,000 in restitution. >> we recooping the money for the individuals who got scammed and holding the scammers accountable. >> if radiate athletics does not pay the money they they coue held in contempt. if you have kids looking for summer jobs, the city of wilmington said 200 summer jobs

6:31 a.m., there's a long list of charges against a teacher's aid accused of sexual assault. the young victim is a student at conostoga high school where the suspect has work for a decade. >> reporter: mr. phillips did you have anything to say you don't have any comment. you're his attorney? >> i have no comment. >> reporter: he didn't say anything but it's hard to imagine what's going through the head of arthur flips. he was heading to jail. the husband an father from wayne is facing charges for having sex with a 16-year-old student at conostoga high school. >> it's sad, because he was in a place of authority. he should have known better. >> reporter: according to court documents phillips met the victim at the beginning of the school year working as an instructional aid at the television production studio. it was in flips office he made -- phillips office he made

unwanted advances. the child said no and tried to avoid the defendant's advances. phillips would pick the teen up around her home and park somewhere. the child indicated they had more than ten encounters. the child would tell the dfort dfort -- the defendant no, she did not wanted to it. he crashed his car in the car was a note on it was written i was just a guy trying to help a kid and boundaries just got gray. when this started the students was 15 years old. he faces numerous counts. his bail $500,000. his arrest falls on the same day one year ago when another conostoga high school teacher's aid was arrested when christine towers was charged with having sex with a 16-year-old student she was tutoring privately.

she also -- she is serving time in county jail. as for phillips he has been suspended from his duties while the case plays out. he is due in court next month. bob brooks channel 6 "action news." >> a south philadelphia soccer coach accused of fathering a child with one of his teenage players is in the u.s. illegal. immigration agents took him into custody back in 2001. he returned to mexico voluntarily, but at some point he was able to re-enter the u.s. police arrested the 39-year-old man this week. philadelphia police say he paid a girl who was 13 or 14 at the time for sex and got her pregnant. police in vineland cumberland county arrested two people on charges of kidnapping and robbery. they are accused of assaulting and abducting someone from a home on northeast avenue in vineland.

the victim was taken to a convenience store to withdraw money from an atm. while inside, the victim secretly alerted the clerk who called 911. police arrested the pair in the parking lot. this morning there's an update for you on that tennessee teacher who allegedly abducted one of his students. we learned he is scheduled to appear in federal court monday. yesterday we got a look inside the california cabin where 15-year-old elizabeth thomas was found along with her former teacher tad cummings. there was no water or cell phone service, two handguns were found inside the cabin. he is in jail facing federal and state charges. if you're just waking up with us, president trump one week away from marking 100 days in office. he will reach the milestone days after making the huge announcement about his plans for

degrees to this number here, that's about it. mid 50s with a driving wind out of the northeast 5 to 10 miles per hour. a breeze i should say. the upper level low is off to the southwest. this has to pull through before we see the return of sunshine. we set this in motion, this high will be south. tomorrow, the high nudges the low to the south. we'll see cloudy skies and peeks of sunshine. as we get into monday and tuesday, the high retreats and allows the low to come up, here comes the rain again. some of the rain will be steady at times for the earlier portions of next week. steady rain across south jersey and delaware, leftover showers, stay patient, you will get breaks and you will be dodging a few rain drops. phillies 7:05 p.m. start time, there will be a leftover shower
