spotty showers. what can we expect? adam joseph in for melissa joins us with the first check of the accu-weather forecast >> it will get better as we get to the second half. finally through the heaviest part of the rain as we look at storm tracker 6 live double scan, you see a little bit of light green especially south and west of philadelphia, aing its way from tors town, chester county, new castle county and salem and cumberland county. light mist and a time light showers will be passing through over the next few hour, it will end here by the middle part of the evening, and overnight hours. and it hasn't been a lot of rain during the day today, but very damp dreary and chill, about 600ths in philadelphia, 700ths in wilmington, more on the south, closing in close to a quarter inch atlantic city and nothing more than a trace in the lehigh valley but the chill is on with the northerly wind, we're only at 54 right now.

missing several days ago. it sparked an amber alert followed by a frantic search. live in wilmington with the full story. >> reporter: walter, this search had a favorable outcome. police say the boys are safe and sound, tired and hungry but overall good condition. >> they were last seen wednesday morning with their baby sitter, michelle rogers here at their home. then last night, relatives of the boys reported them missing. launching an amber alert. the family began posting flyers and police say it wasn't long before they received valuable information. >> at some point, the baby sitter made a phone call, to the family. at that point, our officers went to elkton and started searching. >> reporter: investigators found the boys not far from the royal farms at a burger king

uninjured. >> the children had been taken to dupont hospital, tired and hungry but unharm. >> reporter: relatives and friends began arriving at wilmington police. they declined comment, investigators continue to interview roger, so far, she hasn't been charged with a crime >> we're not sure why she had gone there with the kids. she still being interviewed and evaluated at this point. we're not really sure how we'll proceed with her. >> reporter: wilmington police say they're concerned about why it took the family so long to report the boys missing. it will be part of this investigation. live in wilmington. channel 6 action news. >> thank goodness. firehouse in philadelphia is closed as the building started falling apart. action news reporter bob brooks is live in south philadelphia with details. bob? >> walter, if you have a roof that doesn't work, you can't

have people inside. this is the firehouse at 4th and snyder that has been shut down temporarily while trying to fix the problem. down the street, you can see the back portion have been fenced off. city officials do not want anyone near that portion of the firehouse in case it comes down. >> this is what the roof looks like inside the fire station on 4th and snyder street. it houses engine 53 and ladder 27. two of the trusses inside are split. the city has shut it down. officials say it's simply unsafe to have crews working out of it. neighbors temporarily lost services feel more unsafe >> when we heard that, i was like, i don't know how safe i feel >> it's scary. god forbid something should happen. it will take longer. >> reporter: we just spoke with folks of the philadelphia firefighter's union, this is how they say the 11 person crew and services have been redirected. engine 53 will operate out of 711 south broad, 27 out of 13th

. >> reporter: the union isn't point blame on anyone for this happening's again, they saying it's an unfortunate incident. one, that they're trying to rectify as soon as possible, reporting live in south philadelphia, bob brooks, channel 6 action news. >> thank you. developing news in delaware county where at least four people have been injured during a collision. a still picture from the scene, it happened over an hour officer concord road. two vehicles involved in a head-on collision, no word on the injuries or who's at fault. we'll keep you posted. a man was injured this afternoon after falling from a scaffolding being put up near the parkway for the nfl draft. it happened at about 3:00 p.m. he fell about 30 feet to the ground but expected to be ok. police investigating the shooting of a man in north philadelphia sitting on his

front. the 24-year-old was on his porch when someone walked up and simply opened fire. he was shot five times and remained in critical condition at temple hospital so far no arrests have been made. hundreds of people braved the rain on this earth day to come out to center city for a march in support of the scientific community. this was the view this afternoon from sky 6 over penns landing, the so-called march for science is you one of hundreds that took place. those who showed up are using the event to humanize science and to champion the use as a means of society. they say the scientific community is being threatened by the policies of the trump administration >> treat fungal inconsistencies in people. >> stand up >> similar marches took place in more than 600 is cities and towns world wide. but the biggest was in washington, dc. thousands of people gathered on the grounds of the washington monument among those speakers

were love from the roots, along with bill nye the science guy. president trump will mark the 100th day in office with a visit to pennsylvania. the president tweeted today that he would hold what's being calling a big rally next saturday at the pennsylvania farm show complex right there in harrisburg. the rally will coon side with his 100th day in office which happens to be the same night as the white house correspondence association dinner in washington. the president and the top aids said weeks ago they would not attend. president trump is spending this weekend in washington. world news saturday will have a wrap-up of the day as he approaches the 100th day mark coming up at 6:30 right after action news. the city of philadelphia continues to expand its system of walking and biking trails. a new section was unveiled today right there in southwest philadelphia. they were on hand to cut the ribbon on the bartram mile trail
