teenagers at manchester arena. and now 59 wounded survivors are being treated for injuries and we learned that an 8-year-old is dead. now christie aleto is live at city hall where a vigil is getting underway there. >> people are starting to show up waiting for more people to get off from work because this is an impromptu vigil. this is to give people a chance to grieve. tragedies that happened miles away and clearly hitting close to home. >> watching it unfold last night, you know realizing oh i know where that is -- >> shocking. >> mike is struggling to make sense of the atrocity that unfolded in manchester. a town he visited earlier this year. is he now coorganized a vigil at city hall for the community

miles away. >> the people there were so welcoming and friendly and because of that, they left a mark on all of us and we want to reciprocate that show of love and friendship to them. >> at last check 22 people died and dozens more injured when a suicide bomber detonated an explosion near a concert hall. where children and parents were attending an aryiana grande concert. >> the man who carried out the atrocity is 22-year-old salman abedi. it's not clear if the 22-year-old acted alone or part of a larger network but in the hours after the attack the authorities confirmed they served two search warrants, one ending with the 22-year-old man arrested. and isis also claimed responsibility. smg the company that manages the venue is located here in conshohocken. they issued a statement saying

at 6th and market now at the heart of the historic district of philadelphia. and in itself considered a soft target. and there is intense security here and this morning i am told that park rangers are going through trash receptacles to see if some explosives were planted there sometime overnight after dark but there are so many soft targets in this area. so so many. >> at 30th street station bomb sniffing dogs and amtrak police with assault rifles are part of the normal scene. train stations are long since classified as soft targets that is where i got reaction from the massacre yesterday in manchester from one of the national security experts. >> soft target anywhere this people congait an entertainment event or a mall. right now we are in 30th street station in philadelphia. this actually has more security

a philadelphia man is now exonerated after spending 24 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. sharon thomas is currently released from prison in frackville, pence, searching time for the shooting death of mar ten ez and he says he was being held at a juvenile center for an up related offense at the time and today a judge vacated his conviction. the philadelphia district attorney's office announce whether they expect to retry thomas at a hearing next month. and it's a mostly cloudy tuesday and yet another chance of rain for us as we look live outside. sky 6 hd showing us the view from the temple university cam from the center city skyline. cecily i'm just waiting for the holiday weekend. >> one day looks fantastic and then iffy for a couple days of the weekend.

police say a man survived after falling down a cliff and getting stuck in a ravine, he was stuck for four days before he climbed on to a nearby golf course despite two broken legs and a broken wrist. they noticed the man and called for help and he was treated for hyperthermia but is expected to be okay. health check there may be a new tool in the fight against some cancers a way of tapping into the body's own immune system. ali gorman is here with the details. >> we are talking about t cells part of the immune system. scientists discovered a new group of cells that could be recruited to cancer treatments and therapies based on t cells

are used for fighting cancer and researchers identified a new set of t cell that can recognize tumor cells. if they can find a way to transfer cancer fighting genes to the cells this could lead to a new range of treatments. and the number of americans with alzheimer's disease grows so do the number of family members that become care givers including younger adult children. and one in four care givers under the age of 34 and more men are also stepping into that role. >> the care giver could be young or old any race and any ethnic or racial background. we are all potential care givers, because it depends on what happeneds to our loved ones, we should all be prepared for that role. >> to help ucla health offers a boot camp the basics of dementia as well as preventing falls and

front. the uss new jersey was the scene of celebration, the battleship marked the 74th commissioning in the u.s. navy. a commemoration was held with world war ii veteraned that served on board and fellow crew members no longer living, a memorial wreath was tossed into the delaware river in their memory. mercer county community college was making history as the first college in the u.s. to migrate to cloud based computing services, it gives the students a chance to serve any time anywhere. and that is important for today's mobile students, they have more than 11,000 students. and one of our own baseball stars visited lucky kids in camden today. hector came to woodrow wilson high school to talk to softball and baseball players there and gave them training tips and life lessons too. and did a q&a session.

time for accuweather tonight. cecily tynan has the forecast. >> are we in for month gloom? yes but we'll see sunshine tomorrow. it's not all gloomy but we have plenty of it. stormtracker 6 live double scan showing despite the cloud cover not much rain and showers beginning to develop in lancaster county and honesty we don't need much rain for may. it's been a relatively wet month for most of us. reading 2.5 inches of rain slightly below normal but the i-95 corridor, philadelphia closing in on 4 inches and wilmington the same. south jersey close to 6 inches in millville and atlantic city more than 6 inches and atlantic city this may so far the sixth wettest on record. we have plenty of moisture and more is on the way.

approach haywood johnson in a minivan on windsor street they could see drugs on the console allegedly. he was taken out of the van and that is when he tried to run. and a search turned up crack cocaine and marijuana and heroin and a handgun. he remains in jail in lieu of $60,000 bail. amtrak is doing repairs on the tracks going into penn station in new york city. if you are traveling north this summer you want to be aware of the delays. it lasts eight weeks starting in july. the rails that amtrak owns affects those that take the norris lines. and those end in hoboken and riders have to take p.a.t.h. trains and ferries into the city. aaa is projecting this weekend to be the busiest memorial day travel season in 10
