manchester arena. a deliriously happy crowd turned to panic once concert goers realized the sound was a bomb. many of the dead were young people. the youngest victim just eight years old, saffie roussos. next to her a picture of the bomber, salman abedi. >> police raided his home in manchester and a man identified as his brother. isis claimed responsibility for the attack. >> in manchester today, thousands gathered to mourn the dead and give each other strength and resolve and give support to women like this, who held up a picture of her daughter that went to the concert but hadn't come home.

>> late tonight came word that her daughter olivia had been identified among the dead. >> across the world, tributes to mamanchester. in dubai, in paris and in london, the queen and prince phillip stood on the steps of buckingham palace to lead their country in a moment of silence. we go to reporter annie mccormick, when something like this happens, it impacts people all over the world, including here and a lot of moms and dads. >> jim, that's right. so many of the victims were teenagers or younger. we spoke to victims in our area that said the attack last night was not going to prevent them

trip. >> thank you, dan. we have important news for our viewers in cumberland county. earlier tonight the new jersey emergency management company sent an alert message that interrupted your cable t.v. service. it was a test and the message was not intended to be broadcast. there was no emergency. one person was killed and two injured in a hail of gunfire in germantown in philadelphia on high school street just after 5:30. police and paramedics rush today the scene. police believe the outcome of the card game may have led to the gunfire. two suspects fled the scene. >> a toddler shot four times friday night is home from the hospital. police have released surveillance video of two

suspects fleeing the scene on bicycles. the police have posted a $5,000 reward to catch the culprits. >> camden county jurors will decide the fate of creato accused of murdering his three-year-old son brendan. prosecutors allege he wanted to free himself of responsibilities to keep dating his teenaged girlfriend. his defense attorney suggests that a stranger killed brendan. nearly all of the jurors have been chosen in the bill cosby trial. only one so far is african-american. cosby's lawyers accused the prosecution of systemically trying to keep blacks off the jury. the judge rejected the claim unless cosby's team can back it

up with evidence. the trial will begin in norristown. >> president trump wrapped up his trip to the middle east after appealing for peace between israel and the palestinians. trump spoke with mac miewd mahmoud abbas and then declared both sides are ready to move forward but he didn't refer to the contention between the two keeping them apart. >> the first couple have landed in rome for the president's meeting with the pope at the vatican tomorrow. >> former cia director john brennan said he saw intelligence that revealed contact and interaction between russian officials and americans involve in the trump campaign.

he said he called his counterpart in russia to say the meddling in the election would backfire. >> i don't think this budget is going anywhere. reaction from capitol hill. that's what they said to president trump's budget delivered today not by democrats but by republicans. it's a $4.1 trillion spending plan that envisions $3.6 trillion in cuts over ten years. those reductions cut a hole in the safety net rolling back programs for the poor and disabled like cuts to food stamps and medicaid. trump cut highway funding, crop insurance and medical research. the plan calls for a 10% hike in military funding and $1.6 billion for a border wall with mexico. trump says tax cuts will balance the budget over ten years.

virga. you see along the coast in ken county delaware, light rain, overnight showers, the main event thursday with heavy rain especially early in the morning. right now, 62 in philadelphia. the high today 68. two degrees warmer than yesterday. allentown, 59. cape may, 56. trenton 60 and wilmington, 61. satellite and radar showing moisture trying to move up from the south. it's beginning to break up. most of the energy moves off the coast. there is a stronger one waiting in the wings. the morning commute, i don't think will see a lot of heavy rain. a sprinkle or two, lots of clouds, temperatures in the upper 50s. the low pressure moving away and by the afternoon, breaks of sunshine. last time we saw the sun, sunday morning.

weekend. saturday should be the best. partly sunny, dry, 78-degrees. sunday, probably the worst, clouds and showers and thunderstorms. memorial day, can't rule out the possibility of a shower. 77-degrees. tuesday, looking nice, partly sunny with a high of 80. those are the next seven days. let's look at the next few months in my summer out look. >> this is last year as we sweated through the second hottest summer on record with a peek of the heat in july and august both above normal. it's varying year by year. summer of 2010 we had a record, 55, 90-degree days. the year before, 15 days in the 90s. that's a big difference. the hottest summer feature, a southeast high with a large ridge over the eastern u.s.

allowing heat and humidity from the west to invade the eastern seaboard. the pattern this year looks to place it to the west. placing the core of the heat in that direction, a dip in the jet stream across the east and west allowing refreshing cold fronts to slide through from time to time. periods of heat and humidity but nothing prolonged. we had 46, 90s. this year, i'm expecting 32 days in the 90s. over the past 15 years, the average number of 90-degree days jumped to 30 indicating a trend of heat that could be from global warming. temperatures above slightly above normal, no extended

heatwaves a and we should have rainfall lowering the risk of drought. but there is the potential of severe weather. now to july the key time for thunderstorms, quarter sized hail are the main threats to the region. compared to last year, this is the wetter and cooler summer but we have our share of hot days. no matter the heat in philadelphia, you will can escape to the poconos or shore to find 10 to 15-degrees of relief. >> regarding el nino, recent trends show potential for a weak el nino to develop. that supports my idea of a warmer than normal summer but not as hot as last year. >> that's good news. >> great news. and we get rain. >> thank you, cecily. we have managed to take the
