"the sun" newspaper publishing this photo of the suspected bomber alongside the youngest known victim. >> ariana grande returned home to florida to be with her family. >> these live pictures we're getting from the middle of manchester there, you can see that growing memorial there on the ground. many of the signs saying, we are here together and we love manchester. molly hunter is in the heart of manchester. >> reporter: this morning in the uk the terror threat level at critical. its highest level. prime minister theresa may saying another attack may be imminent. it comes after police say a man detonated a suicide bomb just as

the show let out killing 22. bethany was right near the exit when it went off. >> saw a flash, like an explosion and grabbed my friend's hand but we looked and could see the bodies on the floor. >> reporter: the london tabloid "the sun" publishing the first picture of salman abedi, born in britain to parents from libya. in their investigation, police blowing the door off his manchester home just miles from the concert arena looking for evidence including his phone and computer. >> i think the use of a bomb here as opposed to a car or a knife demonstrates a much higher degree of sophistication by this individual. really suggesting that he probably did not act alone. that he probably had some help. that he certainly had some advice on how to create the bomb. >> reporter: as we learn more about the victims, saffie roussos, the youngest known victim at just 8 years old, a teacher remembered her as simply a beautiful little girl in every

aspect of the word who was loved by everyone. 18-year-old georgina callander, this is the teenage super fan pictured with grande here two years ago and 15-year-old olivia campbell before knowing of her passing olivia's uncle stood at the hospital doors showing everyone her picture hoping for answers and this morning, many, many more still missing. martin hett separated from his friends and this mother, wendy fowl who hasn't been seen since the concert. now, on the cover of every single newspaper here, here is saffie roussos, of course, that 8-year-old victim, the youngest victim and police are telling families they should have many more answers today. diane and kendis. >> molly, we're all the way over here in the u.s. and it's just heartbreaking. you're there at the memorial. how are the people there reacting to all of this? >> reporter: that's exactly right, diane. we are at the memorial. there as you can see behind me the flowers where the vigil happened last night, thousands and thousands of people and the message was one of love, was one

of unity and unifyingly they said you can't win. this won't keep us down. you can't stop us. diane. >> and that is quite the message a lot of people around the world are saying. the suspected bomber as molly mentioned was a 22-year-old native of manchester whose parents were libyan immigrants. >> his i.d. was found at the scene. for a time he attended a local college before dropping out and returned from a visit to libya just days before the attack. he was on the radar of british authority, as well. >> abedi was a terror suspect in the uk. mi5 were aware of him. they were aware he posed a potential threat. but they didn't think he posed the imminent threat that he obviously proved himself to do in manchester. >> we're hearing his brother may have been detained in one of the raids yesterday in the manchester neighborhood called moss side, just a few miles from the concert arena. the area is considered by police to be a center of isis

recruitment. >> we saw that memorial growing there in manchester. but we're also seeing public tributes all around the world to the manchester victims. here in new york city overnight the lights on the empire state building were turned off to honor the victims. elsewhere, the union jack was projected on the burj khalifa in dubai and brandenburg gate in berlin and in hong kong we stand with the united kin dom were on the side of a large bank building. stay with abc news for the latest on the concert terror attack. we have live team coverage from manchester and that's all coming up later on "good morning america." let's move on to other headlines we're keeping attention to back at home and the severe storms that are rolling across the southeast following nine reported tornadoes in north carolina and georgia where power find winds pushed a semi on to a car. there was heavy rain from texas to the carolinas. some areas getting up to 4 inches. this is a look at the radar right now and there were several injuries reported from across the region. as you can see from the radar,

anthem "god save the queen" played before last night's yankee game and a message read our thoughts and prayers to the victims in manchester. and this morning, britain's home secretary says it seems likely that the bomber, salman abedi, was not acting alone. terrorism experts say the device was too sophisticated for an inexperienced terrorist. authorities have deployed troops to popular sites across the country including this morning buckingham palace. >> pop star ariana grande is back home in florida with her family. but her mother was at the concert when the blast occurred and joan grande brought a number of young fans backstage to safety. here at home we had a serious scare at one of the country's busiest airports. >> a united airlines 757 wide body jet was taking off from new york airport in northern new jersey when the control tower spotted flames shooting out of one of its engines. >> the flight was accelerating to take off. it did not takeoff and then it

slowed down and the pilot at that point announced to the crew to evacuate without any further explanation and within 30 seconds we started evacuating. it was a bit chaotic but pretty smooth. >> reporter: five suffered minor injuries and was completely closed. this morning still residual delays at the airport. passengers on that united flight to san francisco left on another plane about five hours late. breaking overnight the bodies of four climbers have been found inside a tent high up on mt. everest. they were found at the highest camp on that mountain. the ten climbers have now died this season alone. a doctor from alabama was among those who died last weekend from altitude sickness. dr. rowland yearwood was an experienced climber who actually survived a deadly earthquake on everest just two years ago. here at home we're taking a look at a deadly scene these of san jose, california, after a tanker truck carrying 9,000

gallons of gasoline overturned and erupted into a fireball killing the driver. 200 people in the area had to be evacuated. authorities believe the truck was going too fast when the driver tried to exit the highway. and farther south a massive landslide buried a section of one of america's scenic coastal highway. 40 feet deep in some places of the landslide on highway 1 cut off access to big sur. no word on how long that stretch of highway will now be closed. the weather has caused an estimated $1 billion in damage to california highways just this year. that is absolutely one of the most beautiful drives in this country. it is too bad it's shut down right now. in supports and senators beating the penguins to force a game seven in their series. >> let's get last night's other highlights from our guys at espn. good morning, america. he's stan, i'm neil. we do these highlights. >> nba playoffs, cavaliers lost game three to the celtics in cleveland trying to get game four at home.
