stay with "action news" for updates on the breaking story. >> shore businesses are ready, cars are packed and barbecue planned, it is memorial day weekend. all eyes are on mother nature and of course, the all-important accuweather forecast. friday afternoon, made it. i'm brian taff i'm sharrie williams. the big story on "action news" is the start of the memorial day weekend we'll be live as the crowds arrive at the shore in a moment. but first we begin with adam joseph who is outside with the holiday forecast from accuweather, hi, adam. >> reporter: mother nature will not be completely on our side the entire weekend it's not a washout. we had a shower up here at the station and one on storm tracker 6 live double scan. most of the area is cloudy with sun, but there are a few sprinkles and showers that are passing through, in fact you can see northeast philadelphia riverside, willingboro and i-95 getting showers there. no lighting or thunder.

south philadelphia that was the shower that past on city avenue. some damp roads in new jersey for folks heading to the shore. temperatures are mild, 75 in philadelphia. 71 in allentown. cool in the poconos, 58. with a westerly wind, the shore not bad there lower 70s. heading to the phillies game or anywhere this evening there will be clearing coming in from the north and west after the clouds and showers pass through, first pitch temperature 72 degrees. by the 9th inning in the ladder part of the evening in the 60s. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows a complex near chicago that will rotating south and east and pivot threw the memorial day. umbrellas will be on standby the entire weekend, again, it is not completely dry and not a washout. temperatures below normal and sunday looking to be the dryest of the three weekend days. we'll chat about those the city,

the southbound parkway itself. 676 southbound accidents gone. had a broken down vehicle on the schuylkill expressway eastbound near 30th, it's gone. but it's jammed. let's grab the ipad do the computer report on this friday afternoon start of the holiday weekend, more problems in delaware off the delaware memorial bridge a crash 295 southbound beyond 13. looking at speeds in the teens and 10 miles per hour on the south sighted -- side of 13 itself. >> an overnight crash left more than 20 tour bus passengers injured and some stranded? south jersey. the bus landed on its side after colliding with the tractor-trailer on the new jersey turnpike in west deptford. this happened after midnight. authorities say it was a panda bus from new york city to atlanta. the driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt. investigators are trying to figure out scabbingly what caused the crash -- exactly what

despite a lot of cloud cover right now, temperatures are in the lower 70s and that sea breeze will kick in. the water is so chilly it will be a cold wind that will wrap in off the atlantic. as we look at satellite and radar as we look to the west there's a lot of cloud cover, no crystal clear sky or large high pressure that will wedge in here for the weekend. the system for chicago will weaken that rotates through here tomorrow afternoon. tonight turning clearer and less wind, 53 allentown. 56 wilmington, millville. nearly 60 degrees at the shore. 8:00 a.m., that's when you will see the sunshine around here as we start the weekend then as we go into the afternoon 3:30 p.m. you see the cloud cover as that system approaches from the north and west in fact, temperature-wise, not too bad we'll go into the 70s tomorrow afternoon, again with the morning sunshine around and then

brian it was supposed to be a joyous holiday weekend as dozens headed south for reunions and relaxation this weekend. the crash happened on the new jersey turnpike around 12:30 a.m. as the tour bus headed south through west deptford. the bus passengers say they are hit in the rear by the tractor-trailer. 34 of the 50 bus passengers were injured on the panda bus when it rolled on its side and ended up in a grassy area off the shoulder of the highway. dozens of passengers were taken to cooper hospital in camden. among them dwight baylor from brooklyn. >> i was going to sleep i had my neck thing on, i lost that. i heard a hit from the back, boom, i bus started flipping and i flipped over, and i fell on my back like this. >> i was startled, everything

oral arguments were held whether her husband james kauffman should be forced to give over dna. there was the victim's blood and someone else found on the bed. the prosecutor asked the judge to order dr. kauffman to provide a cheek swab. investigators told a judge this is just another step in an on going investigation and both sides spoke outside of court today. >> seeking the dna of dr. kauffman is just another tool to allow us to compare it with the evidence that we've already collected and to move forward with the investigation. >> five years is enough, it's time in our view for the prosecutors to turn their attention to other directions. >> reporter: well, the judge will make a ruling by tuesday and that decision will be sealed. a small fire forced gas to evacuate the logan hotel in

if you're on the ac expressway eastbound a three mile delay from the airport to the garden state parkway. the only going work on the parkway and on the off-ramp it's one lane instead of two like it was last summer. speeds 12 miles per hour. once you get on the garden state parkway southbound it's looking better, you're zipping along by summers point and ocean city. by sea isle, speeds in the 40s. stick with the parkway or route 9. the townsend inlet bridge is closed because of struck -- structural issues. heading to the delaware beaches many miles of heavy traffic from bear to odessa, at least the crash is gone. we'll check it again, brian and sharrie in the next half-hour. >> grab your horse head and circle around. >> reporter: thank you my

on "action news" is breaking news, right now police in southwest philadelphia are trying to figure out how a child died hours ago. >> "action news" reporter, bob brooks arrived on the scene on willows avenue live with the latest on the investigation. bob. >> reporter: rick and sharrie, this is nothing short of a tragedy, i spoke with neighbors who they said the baby is weeks old.

is they suspect the baby was 6 weeks old to be specific. that's not confirmed by police just yet. behind me you see the police cars and investigators out here, this is the 5800 block of willows avenue. i want everyone to see and bring up video here. this was the view from chopper 6 hd when the call for an injured baby came in around 12:30 p.m. the child was taken to children's hospital where the child was pronounced dead. no details on what happened. the neighbors we spoke with at the scene don't know much only that the couple who moved into the neighborhood were the ones who lived here. they kept to themselves at this point. they are not too familiar with the people who live inside. back out here live, this is the scene regardless of the circumstances, a weeks old baby appears to have passed away, just a tragedy to start off the memorial day weekend here in the 5800 block of willows avenue. we'll get more
