checking in at 67. satellite and radar along with action radar, showing clear skies we're hanging on the clouds are approaching from the west. you can see harrisburg cloudy, williamsport cloudy. showers over state college and johnstown. that will continue on its journey to the east one or two survive the trip and get in here by lunchtime. not a wash, 73 degrees for the forecasted high. cooler down the jersey shore. this is the first of the three days this weekend, i'll come back with the details of the weekend, monday looking better, sunday better than the two. >> memorial day weekend not only means parades and barbecues, it comes with a whole lot of traffic. aaa predicts 90% of travelers will do so by cars. john rawlins looks at what's driving people to hit the roads.

"action news" at the scene shortly after the incident on route 13 near beaver dam road in bristol borough. police believe a dark-colored minivan possibly a nissan hit the woman around 11:00 p.m. and drove off.

the victim was pronounced at the scene. investigators are looking for the vehicle involved in it, they said it has front end damage and miss ago headlight. someone shot a man twice in the face in southwest philadelphia overnight. right now are searching for the shooter. police tell "action news" the crim -- the victim 24-year-old was walking near 55th and kingsessing when shots were fired from a car driving by. the man was hit in the chin and once in the jaw. he was taken to penn presbyterian and is in stable condition. no word on suspects or motive. a man was shot and killed in delaware last night. it happened in the 2000 block of madison street in the city of chester around 10:20. officers found a 28-year-old man unresponsive in the driver seat of a parked gray toyota. the man had multiple gunshot injuries and pronounced at the

scene. no arrests have been made. police are calling the death of a baby in southwest philadelphia suspicious. officers responded to the report of an injured child on the 5800 block of willows avenue about 12:30 p.m. yesterday. the child was pronounced dead at children's hospital. officials have not released the name, age or sex of the victim. they have released the circumstances of the child's death. neighbors tell "action news," the child was a baby boy and 6 weeks old. they say that the parents kept to themselves. >> seen the guy go to work every morning. he leaves and we say hi abye. i saw the baby yesterday everything was fine. >> one thing detective's said in this case with the baby involved a lot of will be determined on the results from a medical examiner. president donald trump spending a second day in sicily in southern italy. this morning he posed for a group picture with other world leaders at the g7 summit.

in just a few hours, the president will board air force one and head back to washington, d.c. the president is returning as new reports linked his son-in-law with russian officials. we have more from sicily with the latest. >> reporter: president trump is center stage in sicily while he winds down his first trip abroad. according to the washington post u.s. intelligence officials interpreted communications of the russian ambassador during the transition who claimed that kushner wanted to use rush i can't be facilities as a back way to talk to the kremlin. abc has not confirmed the reports. but sources tell abc news his contact with the russia are a focus of the investigation into

an extensive search has come to a happy end in oxford, mississippi after a little girl lost her lamby who was discovered missing after the girl brought it to the grocery store with her dad. community members and local businesses went to work searching for the stuffed animals. after searching the family posted that lamby was found and back home. >> so glad you stayed with us a

federal judge threw out lee boyd malvo two life sentences for the washington, d.c. shooting spree. the judge cited a 2012 u.s. supreme court ruling that found mandatory life sentences for juveniles unconstitutional. juveniles sentenced before 2012. he still has a life sentence in

maryland. his accomplice was executed back in 2009 and ten people died in the shootings. delaware state police are taking steps to combat overdoses in that state. troopers will carry nasally administered narcan. they will be trained to discipline at -- administer the overdose drugs to save lives of those who suffer from heroin or opioid overdoses. two groups have been getting to know one another through an initiative sponsored by volunteers of america delaware valley. the goal to breakdown barriers, between police and the community. time 9:20 a.m., here's a look at what's happening in and around the area this weekend. a tradition continues in chester county. this is the 121st year for the

warminster, 65. glassboro, 67. fortescue 64 degrees, smyrna, 69. dover 68. storm tracker 6 live we've set it in motion there are the showers right over top of central pennsylvania, state college, harrisburg showers, haggers town maryland. the bulk of this will push to the south. the heaviest will miss us to our south. some of the stuff up near state college will push through between the hours of 2 and 4:00 p.m. starting out with sunshine for the city of philadelphia and immediate surrounding suburb. sunshine to start, temperatures climbing out of the 60s. afternoon clouds and peeks of sun and shower or two. temperatures in the low 70s. jersey shore you'll see sunshine that will continue through the first part of the afternoon before going cloudy by 3:00 p.m. one or two showers around 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.

6abc app this holiday weekend. there you can monitor traffic on the highways and live cameras and keep an eye on the weather with the hourly accuweather forecast and access to storm tracker 6 live, it is all there at your finger tips on your phone or your tablet. three people including a philadelphia police are right now recovering after from a car crash. the officer's cruiser collided with another vehicle in south philadelphia at 22nd and wolf street at 11:30 p.m. the 28-year-old officer as well as the driver and passenger in the car both in their 60s were taken to einstein. they are expected to be okay. police have not said if the officer was responding to a call. a 71-year-old man is in the hospital after being shot by a robber. the encounter happened on the 5500 block of wyalusing avenue in west philadelphia. the suspect robbed the man, the victim tried to resist and

that's when the suspect shot him in the leg and hand. the gunman ran from the scene. medics took the victim to penn presbyterian where he said to be in stable condition. a man with a syringe attempted to rob a wawa in port richmond. they say the man entered the wawa on the 2500 block of aramingo avenue. at the counter he pulled out the hypodermic needle and pointed it at the wawa economy. he demanded money, but became nervous without taking anything. if you recognize him call police. the phillies having their troubles on the field they were happy to continue a tradition that brought a devoted group of fans to the ballpark. jeanette reyes has the story. >> reporter: 140 women from across the delaware valley decked out in phillies gear lined up for a day any fan would consider a dream come true.
