what are you learning about this. >> reporter: nydia and gray, very heartbreaking. it's continuing up hind me you can see the firefighter on the apparatus, the goal is to go inside and recover two of the bodies a child and adult female from the home. you can see this is pretty intense situation. that structure is not safe by me means. we're about to see in the video, the flames were immense, such a tragedy up here, three people passed away. the video speaks for itself, two row homes fully engulfed in flames, the occupants inside trapped there's nothing firefighters could do, there was way to go inside until it could be put under control. a witness described the chilling scene. >> i heard sounds screaming for help i woke up and i ran outside and see the smoke, i see the flames coming out of window, the parents are screaming out for help. as i approached the building

looking up to the third floor, somebody hanging out, asking for help, i said hold up, the fire department is coming. there was nothing i could do. fire officials confirm two children died as well as an adult female. the 9-year-old boy was dropped to the firefighters below. the body of another an adult female has been located on the third floor. >> we had a child who perished in the fire despite being rescued. we have reports of two unaccounted occupants we have found them, we located those two an adult and child on the third floor. >> another live look out here, you can see the firefighters up there, on the ladder poking into the third floor trying to get into there, as the fire

bob, what can you tell us? >> reporter: nydia and gray, two young children passed away as well as an adult female. there is a recovery mission told by the fire commissioner. they are going into the buildings, very unsafe what they are doing, two of the bodies are located near the third floor. rescue crews are going in to try to retrieve them. i want to bring up video. this is what firefighters arrived to, 1700 block of north 6th street. this was when the fire fully engulfed the two row homes, there was no way the rescuers could get in there until it was under control. when they were able to we were told parents inside were able to throw down their 9-year-old to firefighters and try to get work done on him. he was rushed to hanheman hospital. unfortunately he was pronounced dead. a short while ago adam thiel

confirmed another child and woman were located inside they were pronounced at the scene. they spoke with a neighbor who was out there watching this happen. he tells us about how there was screaming coming from inside the home. a chilling scene let's take a listen. >> i heard sounds outside screaming for help, he woke up and looked out the window and seen the smoke, when i came running outside, i see the flames coming out of the window, the parents are screaming out for help, as i approached the building i seen somebody on the third floor and somebody was hanging out and asking for help, there was nothing i could do, i told her to hold up, the fire department was coming. >> reporter: another live look again you can see the ladder getting up to the third floor trying to recover two of the victims, we're told a young child and adult female, in all three victims passed away, two children and the adult female. at this point no cause for the fire just yet. just getting the investigation

top. an after hours shooting happened on main street in patterson. 6 people were shot, one person was dead, five others hurt. they are looking into what sparked that shooting. police say an argument ended with an overnight shooting, one man is in the hospital. "action news" was at the scene on the 2000 block of bridge street in the city's frankford section. police say an argument broke out within a group shooting dice on frankford avenue at 3:30 a.m. one man pulled out a gun and shot the other man in the back. the victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. so far no arrests. philadelphia police right now are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in the city's wynnfield section. it happened at the intersection of north will ton and hesston street at 2:30 a.m.

someone fired shots at a man walking down the street. the victim was taken to penn presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead. there's no word about an arrest or motive. >> a philadelphia teen is being hailed a hero this morning after he ran into his burning home to save his crowning nephew. the -- to save his young nephew. all 8 people who live in the home three adults and five children are alive they say that is due to the heroic action of 17-year-old rudy edwards. he went back into the home to save his 1-year-old nephew after he realized that the toddler was inside. >> i wasn't thinking nothing, whetsd -- when he just said bryce is in the house, i just went in. >> he had words suffered smoke inhalation and bumps and
