people do care out here. >> officers responded to the home for the report of an unresponsive child. when they arrived they found the 1-year-old victim upstairs on the floor without a pulse. tragically the child was pronounced dead a short time later. >> i don't know how the police got the call they were all around here until late last night and the mother had to go to chop to identify the body. >> and the man identified as the child' stepfather at the home at the time the is-year-old was found unresponsive. facing charges aggravated assault and rape and endatherring the welfare of a child. >> it's strangic and so sorry that this happened. but i think they have to do a further investigation. before you can accuse anyone of a crime. >> reporter: and tonight police have not released the identity of the suspect in this case. all we know is that he is a

shore. this is why. satellite and radar. the coastal storm that sneaks by to the east today. it is doing that but spilling some clouds south and east of philadelphia and more filtered sunshine to the north and wet. temperatures though really cool. the eastern half of the country the coolest air is in the mid-atlantic because of the cloud cover with the storm. 68 in philadelphia and 69 in raleigh and 70s in cincinnati and 80s are building in the nation's heartland and parts of the great lakes and northern maine in the 80s as well. as we look at our forecast. high 72 degrees and tomorrow 10 degrees add 14 to the 72 on saturday and add more than 20 degrees sunday into monday with our normal being 81. there is that big jump in temperatures and we are set to sizzle. lots of sunshine in the accuweather forecast. as we even challenge records and that four day heat wave brian.

we are getting startling new details today about a murder inside of a northeast pennsylvania grocery store. three employees were shot dead by their co-worker that then took his own life. randy stairs spent the first 90 minutes of the shift planning the attack and blocked entrances and exits to stop people from leaving and someone managed to escape and called 911. police have not explained a possible motive for the crime.

it's almost a month since the murder of a 23-year-old man in wilmington and no arrests thus far. darius jackson paul was shot in the head on may 10th and the victim's mother spoke with "action news" pleading to anyone with information about the crime to come forward. alicia jackson says she has heard that people know who her son's killer is and none of them are talking. >> they are a picture of my son laying on the grown come on you saw this. this generation is so weak. so now i don't have a son. >> if you have any information on the murder of darius jackson paul you are urged to call wilmington police. philadelphia police are trying to determine if a string of 7-eleven robberies are expected all three happened in the roxborough section of the

store. the man walked in and pointed a gun in the clerk's face and once he got $300 cash in a bag he took off and then 20 minutes later the police got a call about another armed robbery another mile down the road. that man in the mask there held the clerk at gun point and took money from the crash drawer. >> and the third incident the man went to ridge avenue. he said he had a gun. and the man refused to give him what was in the cash register and the man left without anything. more than 600 new jersey drivers are getting warning letters from the state. it tells people they were reported for distracted driving and outlines what could happen if caught by police. this is all part of new jersey's campaign launched in april to cut down on dangerous driving and people were urged to call

live on sky 6 hd yes we had the pesky clouds and sunshine in most areas. but right around philadelphia and here in chester and points to the shore all of this high cloud cover still filtering some sun through is because of the ocean storm we talked about yesterday. that is just to the east. take a look at the temperatures, with the cloud cover and northeast wind only in the low 60s for cape may and atlantic city airport. beach haven and 65 in millville as you head to the north and west away from the wind off the water and a little sunshine, temperatures are much warmer in the low to mid-70s. there you can see the morning sunshine early on and the high clouds spilling in from the south and west. and you know just to the west of dover. clouds are starting to break up the ocean storm is keeping all the precipitation off the coast here. and that is the way it's going to remain in the evening hours. overnight the high clouds continue to move on displaying a

program is coming to philadelphia. representatives for the philadelphia oic and other city leaders announced a partnership with bank works today training young adults with low income for lasting careers in the service industry. the banks work classes are free for participants and the program was started in 2006 in la and spread to other cities nationwide and so far it helped graduates get jobbed at banks and other institutions. >> a new private preschool is coming to philadelphia. they broke ground on the prim hill school in cherry hill it's lated to open next spring and there will be 11 classrooms and secure playgrounds for the kids to enjoy outdoors. families will have dinner on the table tonight thanks to a mobile pantry that stopped in delaware. the food bank of delaware joined

this crime you are asked to contact ridley township police. there is a push to strengthen pennsylvania's hate crime laws to protect people with disability. state senator tom killan and becky corban and tom hogan announced senate bill 749 today. it's an amendment to pennsylvania's hate crime statues of ethnic backgrounds to include people with disabilities. and a man was mocked here and punched in the face and this one in the german town section of philadelphia. four young men attacked a mentally challenged man on a sidewalk. >> when i see a bully, attacking someone with mental or physical disabilities attacking them and hurting them, i would like to reach out and throttle that criminal myself. but i can't do that.

i'm the district attorney. and along with law enforcement we stand for the rule of law. >> hogan says that the change in law would give police and prosecutors the tool they need to appropriately punish predators. conestoga high school is now the subject of a federal lawsuit by parents demanding the principal resign. alleging that the principal and other officials created an atmosphere that allowed a parade of improper conduct. they say their daughter was repeatedly sexually assaulted by an aide at conestoga high. and the rape started when she was 16. and arthur phillips was charged with the crimes and the school categorically denying that the principal or anyone had knowledge before reporting the crime. along 295 in logan township.

all right meteorologist, adam joseph joining us now with the accuweather forecast. one that signifies summer like weather. >> changing gears. we jump from one season to another here. in the matter of days, we look at stormtracker 6 live double scan precipitation is off the coast with that coastal storm. that is just sneaking by off atlantic city. and cape may and bringing high cloud cover especially philadelphia to the south and east some filtered sun to the north and west. as we look at the numbers can you see the clouds coming in from the wind off the northeast. 62 brigantine and 65 in millville and then 70 degrees from wilmington philadelphia to trenton and puncture into the lower 70s for the far northwestern suburbs the warmest spots and suniest spots.
