philadelphia. this is where a police officer shot a suspect tonight. according to the commissioner, the suspect took the deadly shot in the back. it's thursday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is the police involved shooting of a man on a small motorcycle forcing the police commissioner to confront a difficult situation head on. live in the 4100 block is christie ileto. what's the story? >> commissioner ross says it started when the officer was transporting people a block away when he saw a man driving erratically on a dirt bike. he pulled over to tell him to drive safer. that's when it took a deadly turn. >> the officer could clearly feel it was a gun. >> this gun feet from the dirt bike he was riding. the commissioner says he was

walking away from the initial encounter with the h officer. that's when the uniformed cop grabbed him and felt the gun in the waist ban. >> the officer discharged. candidly speaking, part of the video shows the male running away at least one of the shots. >> police have surveillance video showing part of the encounter and are looking for more. >> a woman identified only as his grandmother came with family to get answers. >> you have to be able to articulate it for a serious, serious crime. we call them aggravated crimes, not any crime. i watched the video. clearly, one of the shots was taken when the man was running away. >> still a lot of questions this

president trump did not directly respond to the comey testimony but speaking at a faith and freedom coalition event in washington, he said this today. >> we are under siege. you understand that, but we'll come out bigger and better and stronger than ever. you watch. >> president trump's private lawyer did the talking today on the comey testimony. he disputed the fbi director on two counts. >> the president never informed or substance directed or suggested that mr. comey stop investigating anyone, including the president never suggested that mr. comey "let flynn go." the president also never told mr. comey, "i need loyalty.
