really gives new meaning to shotgun. right there on that. >> a good morning to you all. the bay area is planning a very big celebration after the golden state warriors won their second nba championship in three seasons. needless to say the fans are pretty psyched. >> look at the celebrations outside the oracle arena in oakland and downtown in san francisco. the warriors did celebrating of their own with nearly $200,000 worth of champagne. the game five score, 129-120 over lebron james and the cleveland cavaliers. warriors newcoming kevin durant was named mvp of the finals after scoring more than 30 points in each of the five games. durant said winning the title was something he's been working on since he was a kid. >> winning on our home floor is storybook. i'm so proud of these guys and to be a part of this

organization and community. we're going to enjoy this. we wanted this. we wanted this from the beginning of the year and put in the most work and trusted each other. we're a real team and, you know, i don't even know what to say. let me go celebrate. >> celebrate, they did and emot between durant and his mother, wanda. the two of them sharing an embrace on the court and at one point before his interview on tv durant's mom even grabbed him by the goatee. when he was 8 he told his mom that he'd win a championship. >> and she wasn't the only one crashing interview, riley curry, the young daughter of steph curry could not wait to celebrate with dad and it did not matter that he was in the middle of his own post win interview. riley curry, no stranger to the cameras >> that's one of our highlights for every time the warriors are in the championship and they win. riley stealing the show there. >> good for them. plenty of reasons to celebrate. and the big celebration in the streets, a parade planned on thursday there in the bay area.

look at the parties. let's turn to politics as attorney general jeff sessions prepares to testify in public. >> sessions will face tough questions on capitol hill this afternoon on everything from the russian election meddling to the firing of fbi director james comey. president trump and his daughter ivanka are heading to milwaukee where they'll focus on job training. and white house aides are dismissing a report that the president may fire robert mueller. kenneth moton is tracking all this from washington keeping you busy today, kenneth. >> reporter: very busy. good morning to you. today attorney general jeff sessions is expected to face sharp questioning from the senate intelligence committee but this morning it's the comments from someone close to president trump that's raising eyebrows. this morning, a trump confidant making a stunning admission. >> well, i think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel. >> reporter: chris ruddy of newsmax told pbs news hour

president trump may order deputy attorney general rod rosenstein to get rid of robert mueller. the special counsel investigating alleged collusion between the trump campaign and russia. >> i think he's weighing that option. i personally think it would be a very significant mistake even though i don't think there's a justification. >> reporter: the white house pushing back saying that's not the case and ruddy does not speak for the president. but senior aides ruddy met with steve bannon yesterday. today attorney general jeff sessions forced to recuse himself from overseeing the russia investigation set to testify on capitol hill. >> and nothing but the truth so help you god. >> reporter: sessions expected to take on allegations of perjury during his confirmation hearings for failing to disclose meetings with russia's ambassador. and his role in the firing of fbi director james comey, last week comey told the same committee during an oval office meeting president trump asked sessions and others to clear the oval office.

again. >> you have great hair. >> not everyone was so impressed and chuck schumer responded by tweeting out a spoof video of his staff showering him with compliments. >> some of those, you have great hair. a second federal appeals court has ruled against president trump's revised travel ban. the panel of the ninth circuit found it to block travel from six predominantly muslim countries violates law by discriminating against people based on nationality and say they failed to show how their entry would hurt american interests. the president is still hoping for a victory in the supreme court. dennis rodman is in north korea. one of the few americans to have met with kim jong-un. rodman says he doesn't plan to ask kim about the four americans north korea has detained but he does hope to help relations with north korea. he also says he believes president trump approves of his latest visit. now to the extreme weather

the bodies of flee u.s. servicemen killed in action in afghanistan over the weekend arriving overnight at dover air force base in delaware with vice president mike pence there in attendance. the pentagon has released the identities of those servicemen. sergeant women bay, corporate dylan ball bridge and sergeant eric houck served with the 101st airborne division and the taliban claimed responsibility. one of their fighters infiltrated the army, they say, killed in return fire. orlando, florida, is getting back today after a day of emotional ceremonies marking the one-year anniversary of the pulse nightclub massacre. bright lights, prayers and bells capped off last night's ceremony where thousands gathered to hear a final reading of the names of the 49 victims. orlando mayor buddy dire told the gathering that, quote, no matter what, we are one orlando. and the insurance industry is being critical of headlights

in another pennsylvania courtroom a judge is hearing evidence in the penn state hazing case. the defendants walked into court where surveillance video from inside the beta theta pi house was shown. the video shows the final 12 hours of timothy piazza's life. he died after a night of heavy drinking and after taking several falls. a detective also testified saying piazza's body looked like a corpse by the time emergency responders got there. the judge is deciding whether there's enough evidence to go to trial. oklahoma officials are looking for four escaped prisoners just a few months after two of them broke out the very same way from the very same place. surveillance video from the march escape shows them climbing into a ventilation system. the four men are considered extremely dangerous. one is charged with first degree murder. they've been linked to several vehicle thefts since their escape. the sheriff says those prisoners have tried to make contact with family and friends as well. a north carolina woman who lost an arm in a shark attack says she's just happy to be alive. tiffany johnson was snorkeling

in the bahamas and there was no pain at first, in fact, she didn't even immediately know what happened. >> i wasn't in pain. it just felt like i bumped into something so i just casually turned to my right. he had my whole arm in his mouth. >> wow. when johnson tried to pull her arm out, what is believed to be a tiger shark, it bit down harder. it took her arm from below the elbow. she has another surgery scheduled this friday to prepare for her prosthetic. you never know what you'll see while driving. and on a houston highway, apparently drivers got a look at a woman perched on the hood of a car. no word on why she was there or how she stayed on as the car moved along at what looks like a fairly good speed but the video is making the rounds this morning. >> not sure that's a legal hood ornament. >> i don't think so. the pittsburgh penguins will celebrate their stanley cup win with a parade tomorrow. the golden state warriors will have their parade on thursday.
