good afternoon in the news this noon. the wait continues in montgomery county as the jury in the bill cosby sex assault trial continues its delib ration. >> and the considerationing temperatures are here as we are officially in a heat wave. a look at when the temperatures will finally drop. but the big story on "action news" is the fate of comedian bill cosby now in the hands of a jury as they continue deliberations in a sex assault trial in montgomery county. he returned to the courtroom and jurors asked once again to hear the 79-year-old's deposition from 2005. jeanette reyes is live outside of the courthouse with the lightest developments. >> reporter: well, the jury is now going into the seventh hour of deliberations, this after this morning they went to the heart of the case. asking the judge to read to them

a large part of that decade old deposition in which bill cosby admits to giving andrea constand pills. >> and bill cosby returned to the come today. unlike monday morning there is no case to make or witnesses to question own time to witness his fate. the jury came in with a second question about the decades old deposition testimony and specifically requested the contest when he gave constand pills he described as little friends. he wanted to know how the two met. and the judge spent nearly an hour reading the jury the deposition. where he admitted to giving her benadryl. saying that the pills would help her and the sexual interaction

experience a third straight day of temperatures in the 90s. that officially makes this a heat waive the second one of the year. david murphy tracking how hot it will get and when it will hopefully cool down. >> we won't have to wait too much longer for relief and it's not coming soon. we officially reached our second heat wave of the year when the temperature did hit 90 and the rest of the afternoon tonight because of the heat we have got building across the region combined with higher humidity levels we have a heat advisory for the i-95 corridor. all the areas are of particular concern and this did not expire, and all the heat indexes are up above 100, and we have the ozone action day, you will want to limit your outdoor exposure.

the rest of us can help by not filling the car this afternoon. as we look at satellite there is no major batch of pronounced cloud cover but we have the formation of the fair weather cumulous like yesterday and there could wind up being more out there later today and tonight. in terms of the temperature we are up to 92 degrees in philadelphia. right now the same thing in wilmington and 90 in dover and that is an uptick that came in live. 90 in allentown un91 in trenton and cape may toasty with a current number of 87 degrees. perhaps here is the more important number. the dew points. in philadelphia we saw it sag a bit to 63. effect over 60 is considered humid and everything over 65 is noticely more humid. dew point 76 and cape may 74 and reading over 70. anywhere you see this darker shade of green this is where the humidity is particularly bad.

95 degrees by 2:00 and 96 by 4:00, if we hit it it will be a new record in philadelphia. and even as late as 8:00 we hold on to the low 90s. the temperatures dip overnight and during the morning rush we expect the dew points to begin to drop and the humidity levels should come down with them. i'll have the relief story coming up in the seven day, for now cool drinks and all of those health safety tips in play. >> thank you. as our area waits for relief from the heat. many are still heading outside to take advantage of the summer like weather. sky 6 hd taking a live look at philadelphia international airport, the sun is beatling down and there is little clouds to give relief. walter perez is live at dillworth park now. >> reporter: as you mentioned the sunny conditions bring people outside.

earlier this month it was chilly and rainy and now it seems those conditions are behind us and it's time to have fun and stay safe. as we peter on the brink of our second heat wave young people are having fun in the dillworth splash park. >> try to get your little ones nice and wet on a day like today. it wears them out. lots of sunscreen and water. >> this is occurring with the official start of summer a week away. if this is a prelude of things to come, the next few months promise to be hot ones and it's good to be safe. young people and elderly and people with heart and lung conditions should limit their exposure and crank the fans and air conditioners if you are staying indoors. do you complain about the cold and winter and the heat in the summer. >> no, no. >> no, i don't. >> what do you prefer? >> fall. >> i want more of the 80s, nice

>> reporter: hi there rick. a search warrant is being executed here on woodstock drive at the home of richard kauffman and at his medical office where the trouble started this morning. authorities will not say what they are looking for but it's not connected to april kauffman's murder. >> we have an investigation into various ongoing activity unrelated to the homicide of dr. kauffman's late wife, april. >> the drama unfolded at the medical office of of james kauffman. the husband of murdered radio host april kauffman found shot to death in hire home in 2012. when the fbi, his investigators and local police arrived to execute a search warrant, dr. kauffman was uncooperative and pulled out a .9 millimeter luger handgun. >> after a 30 to 45 minute

standoff. dr. kauffman surrendered himself and was placed under arrest for possessing unlawful weapons and hollow point bullets. they only said that the search warrants at his office and at his home are part of an ongoing wide range investigation not related to april kauffman's murder but could assist detectives working the case. >> there may be information we glean from the investigation that leads us further into the murder of mrs. kauffman but not at this time. >> i would like to see them get to the bottom of it. for the daughter's sake she is a nice young lady, i feel sorry for her. >> i hope whatever happens to her comes out into the open and whoever did it is prosecuted. >> reporter: now the prosecutor recently asked for a dna sample from dr. kauffman, the judge's

decision remains sealed and law enforcement will not talk about what they are looking for. after dr. kauffman is released from the psych unit he will be processed by police and a hearing date will be set. i'm nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. we have breaking news now from center city chopper 6 hd over the area of 16th and jfk. you see a car, maybe a minivan here, appears to have gone off the roadway and on the sidewalk here. there is no word of the time and what caused this minivan to jump the curb and come up on to the sidewalk, at least three people were struck by the car when it came up over the curb. several roads are closed as officials investigate and see a fire truck on the scene along way number of police officers, of course not far from city hall here a busy section of the city

16th and jfk a vehicle has gone off the roadway up on to the sidewalk striking three people again nobody is transported by ambulance at this time. we'll continue to monitor the situation and bring you any updates as new information becomes available. attorney general, jeff sessions about to be on the hot seat on capitol hill. he is set to testify in an open hearing for the intelligence committee this afternoon. expected to be asked about his role in the russia investigation, it's not clear if he will invoke executive privilege to avoid answering certain questions. it would be a controversial move but technically legal. this will be the first time he testified for congress since the russian probe. this comes as this there major questions about the investigation. >> he is considered perhaps

terminating the special counsel he is weigh that option. robert mueller there is real n confli conflicts. >> a long time friend of president trump gave the bombshell. saying that the president is considering firing special counsel mueller and an aide tells abc news that there is no private conversations about firing mueller. at noon the search is on for two escaped prisoners that shot and killed two prison guards in georgia. >> and a little boy found dead inside of a vehicle that belonged to his day care, the investigation is on going.

a manhunt is underway in georgia. after two inmates killed two prison guards and escaped. the inmates donny row and ricky debose were being transported by bus and one of them got a hold of the gun and shot the two guards, the inmates then carjacked a green four door honda civic. both men were serving senses for armed robbery and other crimes. a young boy died after being left in a day care van.

christopher gardner jr. -- a woman that worked there says it was common practice to check the van three times before the van is returned. once we got to the back we get out and check. >> and telling the news there is payment work the employees much check out and at least two adults were required to be in the van at all times.

back to our breaking news now from center city philadelphia. a vehicle has gone up on the curb and crashed into a news stand at 16th and jfk. right near suburb station and love park. three people were struck on the sidewalk but nobody transported to the hospital by any ambulance because at the moment the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. it happened before the noon hour and no word what caused the vehicle to come up the curb and come up the sidewalk striking three people you see the crime scene tape is up. and there is another vehicle thereof to the side and unclear if that played a role in this, a lunch time, busy time in center city. officials are there on the scene right now investigating and roads are closed. it looks like maybe some lanes there on the edge authorities

are on the scene investigating as to why the vehicle jumped the curb striking three people and coming to rest against the news stand and a bank there at 16th and jfk. again, we keep an eye on this, we'll bring you updated on air and online at 6abc.com. turning to health check at noon, does sweating more mean a more intense workout? not necessarily. how much we sweat is due to another of factors due to gender and age. men tend to sweat more than women and young more than older and another is fitness level. fit people tend to sweat sooner and genetics temperatures and weight and humidity is also factors. if you take a fitness class and someone is sweating more than you that doesn't mean they are getting a better workout. >> there is an a lot of talking on this newscast.

>> good for you rick. hot and humid out there. you need the cool drinks ready. stormtracker 6 live double scan there is no rain taking a look outside chopper 6 hd is flying through the haze down by the shore and back bays and everybody is heating up even down by the shore the numbers are starting to climb and so is the humidity. the temperature is 92 degrees and the dew point in the is dropping a bit to 63 and dew points in the 67 to 75 range and once you get into the upper 60s and low 70s that means it's pretty darn sticky, winds south-southwest 12 miles per hour. and down the shore in cape may 88 degrees, close to 90 there as well. the heat index now because. the combination of the heat and humidity, not much different than the temperature in philadelphia. but how about that? millville it feels like 98 and same this dover and same in reading and cape may.

close to the water you are probably wanting to get in the water because it's on the hot and sticky side. satellite shows not a lot of pronounced cloud cover developing like yesterday and we may have more of that through the afternoon and into the early evening. up in the lehigh valley and sun mixing with clouds and hot and humid conditions heat index values into the mid-90s up there down the shore 86 degrees more or less in atlantic city and the farther south we good. and more humid as you move south along the jersey shore line and delaware. the humidity is worse the farther south you go. sun mixing with clouds in philadelphia and a high of 96 if we hit that it's a record high in philadelphia. the old record 95 and hot and humid conditions and cool drinks all around and shady breaks if you can manage that. in philadelphia we are forecasting a new one just missing one in allentown and tying the old record in

wilmington. don't know if we'll make all of these, we are certainly in the neighborhood severe storms are possible in the poconos and pennsylvania. it's an isolated chance though. if anything did pop though with this severe storm prediction center outline, it would be capable of producing a damaging wind. if you hear thunder in the poconos or the lehigh valley later in the afternoon or tonight take cover indoors. and satellite 6 along with action radar is not selling a lot of this, it looks like most of it melts away as we head farther south to philadelphia and later into the evening. overnight 74. some clouds and that spotty thunderstorm up north and in your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast things change for the better overnight and into tomorrow. record heat in neighborhoods. climbing back to 83 and as soon as the morning rush hour i see the dew points dipping and

things feel more comfortable. thursday looks great and partly sunny and 78. a high of only 76 on friday and more clouds moving in and a spotty shower is possible. and next weekend down into the 80s and mid-80s saturday with a late thunderstorm and 88 on sunday and a pop-up thunderstorm possible there as well. in the morning on sunday 70s and humid for the gary papa run but nothing to keep us away from the event. >> and summer arrives -- >> 21st. >> quicker than we want. thank you david.

"action news" at 12:30 continues with rick williams, sara bloomquist and david murphy. we start 12:30 with breaking news. chopper 6 hd is live where police and rescue crews remain on the scene of an accident here in center city philadelphia. the vehicle went off the road here at 16th and jfk. it jumped the curb and hit at least three people we are talking about the intersection to the right of your screen, you see that minivan off the sidewalk. that happened just before noon, no one was transported from the scene because the injuries are not considered life-threatening. >> lets go to ground video from the scene, it's active 16th and jfk not far from suburban station, several officials are are there and no serious injuries a
