months ago. now they have to do the inside. >> fire officials say it's one of five reported lightning strike in chester county this evening. live in chester county, christie ileto, channel6 "action news." >> for the latest on the storm, let's check in with adam joseph and accuweather. >> the storms fired up about 2:00 or 3:00. 11:00 this morning they were to the east of pittsburg. they slammed into the intense heat and humidity and exploded along the squall line 5:00 and this hour. the storms are off the coast with the severe part of this particular frontal boundary. there is lingering light to moderate rain through ocean county burlington county, atlantic, gloucester county. you can see the yellows. we have seen more than an inch

4:30 with the latest on the power outages, storm clean up and any effect of the morning commute. tonight we have learned of tragic consequences of mercer county this afternoon. an off duty hamilton police officer was killed. this was the 2700 block of in orderinnottingham way. authorities are investigating what lead to the deadly wreck. an underground fire in philadelphia tonight. firefighters were first called at 7:30 when smoke was seen coming from a manhole. officials don't know how long it will be before they reopen the street. >> james kauffman was ordered held for trial and held until trial that during a court hearing that saw dramatic

confrontation with police last week. >> annie mccormick has that story tonight. >> that's right, james kauffman is in jail on weapons and obstruction charges. he allegedly pulled a gun on authorities when they went to his office. prosecutors played video of the standoff caught on a police body camera. >> dr. kauffman has a weapon. >> drop the gun. >> body cameras by police show the moments they attempted to serve a search warrant at dr. kauffman's medical practice. authorities say kauffman pulled a gun and threatened to kill himself. seth levy played the video in court where kauffman appeared today. his attorneys argued he should remain out of jail until his

trial. his attorney says he was reacting in fear, thinking he was charged for his late wife's death. >> he was never charged with the homicide. prosecutors call kauffman a flight risk and danger to the community. last week they searched kauffman's homes in atlantic county and philadelphia. >> there are five search warrants. one for healthcare fraud and one a homicide. >> last week i said it did not involve the homicide, but in a way it did. it's like the same from a former t.v. show, it's all connected. >> prosecutors are trying to revoke kauffman's medical

license. his attorneys are appealing this and hope to have a new hearing in a few days. annie mccormick channel6 "action news." back to you. >> opening statements are scheduled for tomorrow morning in the hearing of former da seth williams. ten women jurors, two african-american and two men. williams stands accused of bribes, luxury vacations and other goods in exchange for legal favor. williams did not seek a third team this fall. >> tonight, protesters call for justice for david jones outside the police district in northeast philadelphia. jones was shot and killed by police june 8th. investigators say jones ignored

>> the full autopsy report on carrie fisher was released today. it reveals cocaine and other drugs in her system when she fell ill on a plane last year. there was also heroin and opiates in her system. they couldn't determine when the drugs were taken or the impact on her death. her official cause of death was sleep apnea. carrie fisher was 60 years old.

the death toll in the london high-rise apartment fire has risen to 79. that makes it the dez lest blazt blaze in the country's history. authorities are still searching through charred rubble to identify more victims and they are trying to determine what sparked the fire in the tower and why it spread so quickly. >> the headlines today were about president trump's son-in-law jared kushner and that he has never spoiken in public. if you have never heard his voice, you are about to. this is his message. >> we are here to improve the day to day lives of the average citizen. that's a core promise. we are keeping it. together we unleash the creativity of the private sector
