of what was once tropical depression cindy. you can see that area of low pressure or where we had that circulation right now just to western areas of tennessee and kentucky. we have that cold front off to the west. this will be working its way from the west to east direction as we go throughout the rest of tonight. in fact street level with storm tracker6 showing you scattered showers and storms in our northwest suburbs. you can see that. if you're traveling along i-78 in between bethel and hamburg also into reading but also we're tracking these showers and storms in lebanon, in northern lancaster county. that's where we do have a severe thunderstorm warning so this is for man heim, ephrata adams town, just south of wome lsdorf. so, therediction

bob. >> reporter: sharrie, imagine filling your car up with some gas, you get a few blocks and all of a sudden it starts to actor -- act up and this shell station here at the intersection now under investigation. this is the shell gas station at hood boulevard and new falls road. residents are concerned about possible contamination found in their gas tanks. >> reporter: specifically it's the regular and mid grade gas that's being tested here. those pumps will remain closed until a test is completed. three complaints have come in from customers saying. >> they think that there's some kind of contamination of diesel and regular gas has been mixed somehow. some of the residents that have complained to us tell us that their car is running extremely sluggish or not at all. >> reporter: we asked how could this happen? how could diesel fuel wind up in a regular fuel pumps. >> there could be some kind of mixup in the delivery possibly or some kind of underground delivery system problem. >> reporter: now until the

tests do come back the diesel gas has been mixed with the regular. we spoke with a mechanic who says it's going to be expensive to get your vehicle fixed. >> off the top of my head it has to be thousands. >> reporter: that's what the mechanic terry hough. >> i've been here 39 years. >> reporter: he's been fixing cars a long time. he says this can causes damage to all kinds of parts of the car. >> the pump and the filter and -- especially if the injectors get plugged. who knows. it depends on the car. >> reporter: we did speak with one customer who says for her the gas here has been fine. you got your gas twice here this week. >> yeah. >> reporter: okay. and no problems. >> i haven't had any problems. >> reporter: no problems for her. officials say the owners of this shell station are cooperating with them while they conduct this investigation. of course we won't know exactly what happened until those tests of the gas come back. reporting live in levittown, bob brooks channel6 "action news." rick. >> all right, bob, thank you. philadelphia police are investigating a deadly crash

tonight. a woman in her 50's lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a tree. it happened just before 8 o'clock this morning here on the 1300 block of east washington lane in east mount airy. the victim has not been identified. she was pronounced dead at the scene. authorities are looking for at least two suspects for what may be a string of business and residential burglaries in philadelphia and delaware county t both suspects are believed to be asian men. a security camera shows them robbing a home in marple. police say the same suspects are recorded robbing the homeowner's store on woodland after in philadelphia. police say they may be working with a group that has been targeting small businesses in delaware county for nearly three weeks. >> well, just one day after it was made public, the senate gop's healthcare proposal is already facing an uphill battle. >> the bill is not only drawing criticism from democrats but also from some republicans who are demanding changes to it. the gop can't afford to lose more than two senate votes from within the party but at

officials in delaware county have launched a new program to help get rid of dangerous drugs and they're taking their efforts on the road. the county unveiled its new mobile drug collection unit today outside of the courthouse in media. this specialized van coming up along with this mobile drug drop box in the van will be seen at various community events to encourage residents to dispose of any unwanted or expired medication. district attorney jack whelan says it's one isn't that combating the city's opioid crisis. >> a new law signed by president donald trump aims to protect military veterans. it's designed make it easier to fire department of veteran affairs employees accused of wrongdoing. trump says the law is one of the biggest reforms in the va in decades but federal employee unions oppose the measure. it was prompted by a 2014 scandal where some veterans died after months of waiting for care. >> all right. friday night let's get a check of our "action news" traffic report for you. >> all right, let's go live to matt pelman in the "action

courthouse in center city with more on what the jury heard today. vernon. >> reporter: they heard quite a bit today, sharrie. indications are the government will finish presenting its case to the jury sometime late next week is the latest word with the defense perhaps not beginning until after july 4th. to word jet on whether seth williams -- yet on whether seth williams will take the stand. >> my attorney is doing a great job. >> reporter: seth williams left court tonight with those words. it's been a grueling week for the district attorney as federal prosecutors continue building their corruption case against him. 29 counts of bribery and fraud. the testimony of a key government witness wrapped up today. bucks county businessman muhammad ali who has already pleaded guilty to bribing williams was grilled by williams' lawyer thomas berk. to testimony, no deal ali admitted on the stand. ali testified he lavished the district attorney with gifts because he wanted to get close

to someone in power to be able to call if he needed to t on the stand today ali said williams out of friendship before ali ever gave him any freebies like a caribbean vacation and $7,000 in cash when williams was in a jam the result of his divorce. williams denies any criminal behavior. on monday deputy police commissioner joe sullivan will testify about williams arranging a meeting with ali so the jordanian born multimillionaire could air his believe he was the subject of and religious profiling when he forty one international trips back in 2012. sullivan has been a capitol nine charge of homeland security for the police department. rick, next week we'll be hearing from a center city bar owner who is expected to testify against seth williams. live at the federal courthouse in center city, i'm vernon odom channel6 "action news." >> vernon thank you. in other news doctors say

the knife used to stab an officer at the airport in flint, michigan was just millimeters away from severing his major arteries. the medical staff treating lieutenant jeff nevels gave an update on his condition today. they say he suffered a cut approximately 12-inches long around his neck. but tonight he's making progress and could soon be released from the hospital. he was stabbed on wednesday at the bishop international airport in flint. a 49-year-old canadian citizen originally from tunisia is charged in the attack. the congressman shot at a congressional baseball practice last week in alexandria virginia has been moved out of a hospital icu. representative steve scalise will remain hospitalized but his condition has been upgraded. four others were wounded in the shooting last week. the attacker was killed by police. >> ♪ >> in tonight's health check many women and their doctors, too, are in the dark on a -- on the number one killer heart disease. 45 percent of the women surveyed did not know it was

for more than a year. north korea denied today that it tortured otto warmbier and accused the u.s. and south korea of a smear campaign. warmbier was leased by north korea earlier this month. at the time the 22-year-old university of virginia student was in a coma and died days later. he was laid to rest yesterday. his family and others have blamed north korea for his condition and his death. abc news' bob woodruff will delve more into the on the bow warmbier case including his month in that north korean prison his release and untimely death. you can watch the special report a hostile act on an all new 2020 right here on 6abc tonight at 10 o'clock. >> the wildwood police department has released new details surrounding the investigation into a confrontation involving one of its officers and a resident. the incident was recorded on cell phone as well. the department says officer patrolman lucas bottoms used force after the suspect, kevin

piccolo refused to follow his commands. the investigation is now being handled by the cape may county prosecutors' office. piccolo is now charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. he'll be in court july 7th. investigators added that if it's found that officer bottoms' actions were excessive, he will be held accountable. >> the philadelphia police marine unit often rescues folks is it you can in precarious situations on the river. yesterday's call though was a bit different. officers came to the aid of a deer that became stuck in 3 feet of mud. it happened along penn's landing across from the chart house restaurant. the deer apparently became stuck and swam underneath a broken down pier. the officers used a dogs into to grab the little guy and then get him into the boat. >> when we put it back on the beach it relaxed for a little bit and then it left within a few minutes. it got up on its way and continued into the woods. >> the officers say the deer was shivering and shaking but

>> and welcome back everyone. as we take a look at storm tracker6 live double scan radar we're tracking some scattered thunderstorms across the region. a lot of activity confined to our north and west. as we're tracking that moisture for allentown and reading this is where we have a concern. a severe thunderstorm warning posted until 6:30 this evening so we really consolidated the area here into adams town reading boyertown pottstown green lane and also to the south in royersford. we could find winds in excess of 60 miles an hour and the possibility of hail. this is what we're tracking on street level with storm tracker6. you can see this is the cluster that's moving to the east and the towns that we're tracking as well by about 5:54 it's in bally, 5:58 in boyertown, east greenville by about 6 o'clock, about 41 lightning strikes associated with this within the past hour and some of these locations are picking up rainfall rates anywhere from two to 3 inches. not only do we have in severe thunderstorm warning a severe

thunderstorm watch has been posted and extended. initially was just for lancaster county. it has to the moved for philadelphia and our northwest suburbs until 10 o'clock tonight. the are and why, there's a lot of modge as we track a cold front coming from the west. so dewpoint numbers are very high for this time of the year. they really don't get much higher than this during our summer season so we're in the upper 70's in dover. we're super saturated right now in philadelphia. dewpoint number at 72 its quite oppressive and really uncomfortable outside. heat index numbers in the upper 90's, feels like 96 in philadelphia, 94 in dover, feeling like 96 to the west in lancaster current heat index value in trenton coming in at 92. here is satellite6 along with action radar. we're tracking those showers and storms with that severe thunderstorm warning but really we've got a cold front swinging through the west and also what was once a tropical system cindy you could see that little bit of circulation to our south, that's getting caught up in the front and that's causing all of this moisture that we're tracking. so future tracker showing you
