and oranges moving in from the harrisburg area and that means we could be hit by thunder and lightning and more tomorrow morning. let's go to live to meteorologist adam joseph and the late word. >> we're dealing with severe storms right now as well with a severe thunderstorm watch for half of our viewing area north of philadelphia. you can see the storms firing up locally here and even more to the west towards pittsburgh and state college, kind of in a line here that's moving our way so it will be an active evening, night at times, not all the time but at times and especially tomorrow morning as well. severe thunderstorm warning in effect for northern chester county, most of montgomery county, clipping bucks county to the northwest near quakertown, lehigh county as well as berks county. winds near 60 miles an hour with some of these storms that are coming in from the west to the east at about 40 miles an hour. can expect it in spinners town around 6:13, frederick at 6:17, green lane around 6:20

this evening. again, now crossing over route 100, 51 lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes. also a nasty cluster up towards easton even though that right there is not severe. we'll watch these as they continue to move to the east and again a rush of wind with torrential rain with them as well. severe thunderstorm watch in effect for delaware county, philadelphia county, all points to the north and west until 10 o'clock tonight meaning any storms that pop in this region could turn severe with hail as well as powerful winds. so, it will be very scattered here this evening and overnight tonight along with those downpours and because the atmosphere is so heavy right now with that tropical moisture we could see quickly up to one to 3 inches of rain in some spots. if that happens then you goal some localized flash flooding but the steadiest of the rain comes with the actual cold front and the remnant low of cindy between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. that would be the heaviest round for basically all of us and jim will show you that on future tracker6 and talk about a real nice second half of the weekend coming up in

"action news" reporter john rawlins is live at marple township police with an update john, what are you learning from police there tonight. >> reporter: well, police told us today that, jim, that because of that earlier report on "action news," they were able to obtain a video of two men that they believe now involved in at least four

different burglaries on three different dates. >> we're hoping once people seal the video -- see the video they're going to recognize these people. >> reporter: they are the best images yet of the two men involved in mum pelt burglaries both wearing gray sweatshirts one a black hat the other a green eagle hat. they work with a plan. >> they enter the house. clothing jewelry, cash, disable the camera system sometimes remove it from the house. >> reporter: but in this case the video was streamed live via the internet and saved a the two stocky asian men involved in a burglary. a family in marple was hit. among items taken keys used by the crooks to open locks of the victim's shop located in southwest. there they walked out with ordinary boxes packed with valuables. >> i was just angry. i was furious. i know it looked like a box of ice. i know what's inside it's not

ice. it's money, cigarettes. today looks the the two images. >> they do look familiar. i honestly think that i've seen them inside my store as customers. >> reporter: the two in the video may be part of a larger crew in the philadelphia heist four men were seen from a distance. all the targets owners of family run businesses. police believe the crooks watch carefully. >> they watch it for aered pooh of time, know their whereabouts, what kind of cars they will drive when they're home when they're not home when they're at the business when they're not at the business and they pick the appropriate time to enter the houses. >> reporter: well, if you recognize the two men on the video and they do appear to be similar in both their looks and movements so similar that at least one investigator thinks they might be related to one another that they could be either brother os are cousins, if you do recognize them you're urged to call the police either the marple police here in delaware county or southwest detectives in the city of philadelphia. both organizations are work egg together on this case. live in marple township john

rawlins channel6 "action news." jim. >> john thank you. one time philadelphia deputy commissioner renee tartaglione aged 61 has been found guilty of fraud conspiracy and theft from a nonprofit organization. the verdict came down today in federal court. the nonprofit is the june yacht at a community mental health clinic where tartaglione has been president of the board of directors. charges said tartaglione stole money from the clinic and falsified her taxes for four years. week one in the corruption trial of philadelphia district attorney seth williams is now over. williams left court saying it has been a grueling week. testimony of the key prosecution witness wrapped up today. the bucks county businessman muhammad ali has already pleaded guilty to bribery but testified in hopes of reducing his sentence. also today, a human resources official took to the stand saying that williams failed to meet deadlines in disclosing gifts from ali.

williams faces 29 counts of bribery and fraud. the trial will resume on monday. >> (chanting). a hearing on philadelphia's beverage tax was postponed today after pro tax demonstrators drowned out the meeting. supporters of the tax armed with signs took over city hall this morning. the senate local government committee was supposed to hear from businesses and employees about the economic impact of the beverage tax. a new date for the hearing has not been set and committee chair scott wagner, says he may consider holding the hearing in harrisburg. investigators are trying to determine if motorists have been buying bad gas at a certain gas station in levittown. the thought is that diesel fuel somehow got into the gas pumps. "action news" reporter bob brooks is live at the shell station at the boulevard and new falls road. bob, safe to say they've taken

that offending pump out of service, right? >> reporter: jim, they definitely have and really it's simple. we all know contaminated gas in your car, they don't mix and they don't work together. several neighbors in levittown say that's what happened to them when they've come up here to the shell station. they say they put the gas in their car. now their car doesn't work. if you live around left town and drive a car, you'll want to know this. the shell station at the corner of hood boulevard and new falls road is now under investigation. their gas is being tested for contamination. >> residents are concerned about possible contamination found in their gas tanks. >> reporter: the department of weights and measures is now on it. the focus regular and mid grade gas. those pumps have been shut off until further notice. three residents say their cars have been badly damaged. >> they think that there's some kind of contamination of diesel and regular gas has been mixed somehow. >> reporter: we asked how

>> we have some unsettled weather on the way. >> we have severe storms right now and more in the way of heavy rain coming in tomorrow morning. we go to the warning right now. severe thunderstorm warning for northern montgomery county, northern central bucks county. it's beginning to push out of berks county at this hour. this warning until 7 o'clock tonight, winds near 60 miles an hour. this storm is very dangerous lightning. it is now passing through green lane just to the north of pottstown heading to the east at about 40 miles an hour crossing over the northeast extension right now near quakertown, south of 309. it will be near white horse at 6:30. 36 lightning strikes in the last 15 minutes with this storm, torrential rain with that as well and a nasty, nasty line as it heads towards bucks county and eventually out of montgomery county. this is the storm and as we slice it with storm tracker6

live double scan in the vertical so you can see how high it is stacked in the atmosphere. this bright white line is 30,000 feet up its close to 40,000 feet which means it's tapping into a lot of moisture and also pulling down strong winds in the upper part of the atmosphere and that's why they issued that warning, the national weather service. the heat index is fueled by 94 degrees is how it feels right now in philadelphia. there's a lot of moisture in the air. 91 in wilmington, 94 in dover, 90 trenton. reading got hit by one of those storms that's why that heat index is down to 76. you can see the line into northern kentucky this is the remnant low of what was cindy along a cold front now and all that has to work through here late tonight early tomorrow morning. so, through the 11 o'clock hour, if you're south of philadelphia it looks like not much is going to happen. it's really to those far northwestern suburbs with some of those severe storms but the front and that remnant low

passes through early on saturday morning and you can see this wall of water that comes through 8:00 a.m. saturday morning, torrential rain, wouldn't last long but getting hit very hard and then it's out of here and off the coast by maybe 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock in the morning and the sun returns quickly here from west to east and we do salvage most of saturday now so afternoon sunshine developing after that morning rain. the humidity's going to drop but it stays on the hot side, upper 80's to near 90 degrees tomorrow afternoon and then as we go into the second half of the weekend on sunday, mostly sunny and beautiful, 84 degrees with that west wind. definitely going to be a winner here with low humidity and if you're heading to the shore, the ocean 65 degrees, that morning rain giving way to sun of 86 and breathtaking on sunday, no humidity with a temperature at 82 degrees. the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, again, very heavy downpours early tomorrow morning. then sun returns, 90 degrees but that humidity comes way down from where it was today.
