portions of camden county now. the tornado warning remains in effect for another minute or so, it will be discontinued, so right now you see the leading edge of a powerful squall line in the process of pushing through blue anchor. there we go, we're at 7:00 a.m. i'll tell you what we'll do, we'll send it back over to you real quick and confirm a couple of things, get on the horn with accuweather. >> i know you're constantly monitoring the maps it's difficult for you to do this, you're doing a good job, as we watch this system, do we know, have there been any reports as you see from your computer system of any downed trees or any damage to property that we know of right now. >> reporter: that's what i am looking for, i have seen reports of flying debris, i have not seen any significant damage reports is of yet. doesn't mean it hadn't happened,

just means it hadn't come in yet to the national weather service, so i have not seen any reports like that as of yet. >> right now we're talking this is just a warning. >> reporter: the warning has been discontinued the one in gloucester, camden and burlington counties have been discontinued. the only one in effect for eastern mercer and monmouth counties. that cell is racing off to the east. it will be this cell in here, we're picking up lighten strikes, i want to pan out a little bit so i can get an idea. it will be this area in through here, that's where we're starting to see, you see this right here, almost appears to be a hook shape right here, the good news this is out of our viewing area. this is manalapan.

this is near jackson, this cell racing off to the east-northeast at 40 miles per hour. it is moving away over top of monmouth county. this particular warning is up until 7:15. the earlier warning for gloucester and camden counties in southern new jersey has expired. it is discontinued. now we're seeing a squall line as it extends from new york city all the way down through the heart of south jersey into the state of delaware. we're seeing winds anywhere from 40 to 06 miles per hour with this squall line here, but the good news is these winds appear to be straight line wind and not rotating winds. straight line wind damage can be as significant as tornado winds, it's just the structure is a little bit different. thing about a powerful winds blowing in the same direction that is capable of 60-mile an hour wind gusts blowing off shingles and uprooct --

uprooting trees. it won't take much with the leaves on the tree to act like a canopy when the winds blows, it gets caught in the leaves in the trees and boom, you get trees uprooted here. be careful even if you're in the camden and gloucester counties areas now, just because you're not under the gun with a tornado warning you don't want to let your guard down because the line is becoming strong as it races to the coast. winds 40 to 60 miles per hour. the good news, the tornado warning has been expired. i don't have a severe thunderstorm warning issued for the that part of the viewing area. we're looking at flood advisories to the west and one tornado warning for eastern portions of mercer county and northern portions of monmouth county up until 7:15. this cell here pushing out of windsor and into manalapan area. it should be near mall borough.

racing east-northeast at 40 miles per hour. i'm soundings repetitive here -- i'm starting to sound repetitive here, the best place to be is in the basement of your house or the center part of your house. don't be near windows or doors because windows shatter and you can become injured. doors can become dislodged. the object is to put as many doors between you and the outside as possible. what you're seeing on the radar return you're seeing the bright shades of reds and maroons and purples are showing up south of manalpan. this area right here, when you see these purples pop up, there's a good bet you're picking up hail. usually when you're picking up

hail on a storm cell that produced rotation, there could be a tornado on the grounds. you start to see things like this as the winds, the rotating winds become stronger, as the storm becomes more mature a little better developed here. this is something i don't want to see at this point here, it's a sign this storm is strengthening, this is pulling off in this direction, let's put a storm track on him, the good news it is pulling away from the delaware and the lehigh valleys pulling away from the city of philadelphia. moving east-northeast at 40 miles per hour just like that. if you anybody who is outside, get them inside and tell them to get in the basement of their house. charleston springs, 7:06 a.m.

looks like we're getting storms in oakland, new jersey, haddon township area trees down, homes damaged. now the reports are starting to move in. the good news that particular cell has weakened, we do not have a tornado warning with that cell any longer, but we're seeing heavy rains in the area, and the leading edge of that gust front is pushing through eastern portions of camden and gloucester counties as i speak. we could see winds anywhere from 40 to 6 miles per hour, straight lined winds with that as the storm marchs off to the east. as i continue to progress along, i'll wrap up in a second, i want to get back to this one right here, i want to make a quick zoom right here. this is the leading edge of the squall line. we're no longer seeing rotation, but we're seeing straight lined winds. this whole thing is moving off to the east at 40 miles per

school investigating the fatal stab of a woman. they are looking into the possibility that the victim was sexually assaulted. police say the woman was in her 30s her clothes partially removed and she was stabbed multiple times they are not saying the crime happened on the grounds of the school there at 21st and lehigh. we have a crew working the story and talking to investigators we'll bring you the latest in scrabt. >> scrabt -- just a bit. new information to tell you about out of the kensington section. no arrests have been made in action with the shooting that left a 49-year-old man in critical condition. the shots were fired at 1:30 a.m. on the 3300 block of east vanango street. he was shot in the chest and taken to temple hospital in critical condition. 12 blocks away from that shooting, overnight police responded to a shooting on the 1800 block of east have vanango street. that victim was a 19-year-old

shot in the back and once in the foot. he was taken to temple where he underwent surgery this morning, no arrests have been made. firefighters in middle township, new jersey, are being credited with saving the lives of several animals around 6:00 p.m. firefighters responded to a fire in a storage area behind the abie animal hospital along route 47. smoke from the fire traveled inside the buildings where the animals were housed. crews removed the animals and put out the fire there. it is not clear how the fire started. two days after the senate revealed it's plan to repeal and replace the affordable care act, five republicans said they cannot vote for it. dean he he -- dean heller said o this. heller has different reasons

effect for -- monmouth in effect for another four minutes or so. woman get there in a minute. this is through the heart of south jersey, this is less populated area north of the hammonton area here. we continue to see what appears to be almost like an s-shaped echo or return on the radar. when you start to see this, that's when i become concerned. you see such powerful straight lined winds they are forcing the storm ahead of the rest of the line, they get so far ahead they return back and you get these eddies form in here, it is in this part of the s-shaped return that you start to worry about rotation. north of hammonton, there's another one starting to develop here. as this is marching to the east we'll watch this closely and see if we continue to see the

rotating cellsny part of viewing area. right now we're not seeing -- in this part of the viewing area. we're seeing heavy rains and powerful straight lined winds. the winds are 58 miles per hour. but we're seeing gusts in the 40 to 50 miles per hour. that's strong enough to uproot trees especially considering how moist the ground is at this point. this is the cell right here, actually i'm not seeing any kind of hook or anything on this any more. so this appears to me as if it is starting to evolve into a straight lined wind event. let me me take this off here and clean this up for you. it would be this cell here, jackson great adventure, north of there, i-195 heading toward

the shorepoints, belmawr, point pleasant beach. this cell moving off to the east, northeast 35 to had a miles per hour. let's zoom in through here, this is mainly out of our viewing area, monmouth county and central new jersey, here's manalapan right here, this is jackson, great adventure, this is pushing off to the east, bearing down on asbury park in belmawr. future tracker 6 i want to show you how quickly things are pulling away. once this line hits the coast that's all she wrote, this system is out of here and the rest of the day looks very, very nice. by afternoon, sunny skies, a couple of clouds bubbling up, lowering humidity levels, it will be a nice weekend once we get past this right here. this cell we continue to watch, this is the one that prompted the tornadoes warning. here's jackson mills, marlboro.

everyone, we continue to watch the squall line as it further evolves here, we're seeing thunderstorms issued for jersey shore, atlantic county, cape may county, and stream southeastern portions of -- extreme southeastern portions of burlington county and ocean county. we're seeing 55-mile an hour straight line wind gusts. we'll show you the location in the warned area. woodbine, sea isle, marmora, ocean city, corbin city, mays landing. pomona severe warnings for for you. margate, brigantine, under a severe thunderstorm warning. it's a squall line that

developed 45 minutes ago here, raced over the city of philadelphia and raced over the delaware river, prompted a couple of tornadoes warnings one in north central gloucester county and central camden county and one or eastern mercer county. this line is transitioning over, it doesn't appear to be much of a tornadic event at this point, it's just straight line wind event. i put the squall line tracker on. this squall line will be over long branch 7:31. belmawr, 7:35 a.m. seaside heights, 7:43 a.m. atlantic city within that ballpark, as well. everything racing from west to east at 40 miles per hour. no areas west of philadelphia, you're starting to clear at this point, the skies are opening up a little, you're starting to see peeks of sunshine. as this hits the coast and races through we'll start to clear things out. 8:00 a.m. we're seeing sun west of philadelphia.

and severe weather out there. >> reporter: we're seeing damage reports coming in. there's extensive damage in the haddon township okalyn area. we're seeing trees down and homes damaged here. trees damaged and uprooted in the collings wind area, the john shoal buoy reported 55-mile an hour on the delaware bay. there's powerful straight lined winds 50 to 60 miles per hour. on top of that we had a tremendous amount of rain that has fallen in a short period of time. the national weather service issued a flash flood warning for philadelphia county and lower montgomery and bucks county, extreme northwestern burlington county and mercer county until 11:30 a.m. the problem we've had quite a bit of rain in the viewing area over the last week or so. the ground is saturated, now we're picking up two to three

additional inches. the line of storms is out here, but the rain has to run off to tributaries, if you live in an area that's prone to flooding or live near a small creek or stream you'll see flooding. new jersey coast from cape may all the way into areas of south of sandy hook, it's the belmawr point pleasant beach area, the scawl line racing off -- squall line racing off to the east, we're seeing straight line winds 50 to 60 miles per hour. a couple of locations over top of belmawr right now. oceanville, 7:39 a.m., seaside heights areas are 7:43 a.m. popular shore destinations seeing severe weather. clearing taking place across western portions of south jersey, as well as the far western suburbs. the movement is west to east at 40 miles per hour, all the

her clothes partially removed and she was stabbed multiple times. they are not saying that the stabbing happened on the grounds at 21st and lehigh. we have a crew speaking with investigators when we get the information we'll pass it along to you. camden police are searching for a gunman who shot and killed a man overnight. the man was shot by river and bideman avenue. the victim was rushed to cooper university hospital where he died. a motive for the shooting is not clear. drivers in bucks county may be stuck with costly car repairs after a mixup at a gas station. crews spent the day friday inspecting several pumps at the shell gas station at hood boulevard an new falls road in levittown where three customers claimed they think diesel and regular gasoline had got mixed up. when asked how this could happen, the director of weights and measures had this to say. >> there could be a mixup in

the delivery possibly or some underground delivery system problem. >> if the tests do come back that the gasoline is mixed, mechanics say repairs to the vehicles could run thousands of dollars. the cost will be up to shell or the gas station. right now the search continues for suspects connected to four bold burglaries in philadelphia and delaware counties. newly released surveillance video captured the crooks rummaging through a marple township home. the thieves stole keys to the homeowners businesses in southwest philadelphia and used them to get into the shop where they stole more. >> i think i've seen them inside my store as customers. >> police believe the suspects may be part of a larger crew who seem to be targeting people who own family-run businesses. the owner of a popular ice cream parlor in cumberland

county is under arrest this morning, he is accused of spying on teenage employees as they changed. this man right here, 656-year-old larry bostic who operators cool breeze ice scream on left landis avenue has been charged with child endangerment and invasion of privacy. we have an update for you on the bucks county man missing in montana. 21-year-old eric hellmuth survived four days lost in the wilderness, he was dehydrated and had bruises to his feet. his sister questioned the have validity of the report saying

that he simply walked away from the site that was teaching wilderness skills. michael marchhawk was arrested in atlantic city. his father was found beaten to death in his ryan township home on monday, his wallet and car was stolen. his wife is a schuylkill county treasurer. the suspect is being held at the atlantic county justice facility. a shooting in the germantown section has left a man in critical condition. the action cam was at the scene along the 5100 block of rubecan street. around 10:30 p.m. someone shot the victim who was taken to albert einstein to be treated. there's no word about an arrest or motive. the corruption trial of district seth williams has been put on pause for the weekend. bucks county businessman

muhammad ali pleaded guilty to bribery and testified yesterday for a reduced sentencing. williams faces 29 counts of bribery and fraud. the trial continues on monday. 7:38 a.m., a hearing on the controversial sweetened beverage tax had to be postponed after noise from protesters drown out committee members. and there you hear it, that's the noise that prompted the state senate committee hearing to be reschedule. it was supposed to address the economic impact of the tax. pro took us demonstrators armed with whistles and horns filled council chambers. they were not included in the

senate hearing. >> seems like this was a lopsided hearing where 80% were speaking against the soda tax and very few representatives who were benefits from the program, were being represented in the hearing. >> at one point children took over the seats preserved for politics. the meeting was canceled after 40 minutes. in new jersey, camden diocese has announced plans to consolidate, 6 parishes will merge into three. saint josephs will merge into immaculate conception. saint josephine will merge into sacred heart parish. catholic schools will not be affected by the reorganization. americans are expected to hit the roads in record numbers

over the span of a hour and a half it turned into a powerful squall line that prompted tornadoes warnings now we're seeing storms that stretches to areas south of the new york city to the jersey shore. this warning is up until 8:15 a.m. for 600-mile an hour. the strongest -- 60-mile an hour gusts. the strongest wind gusts i've seen is 58 miles per hour. the warning is south of wildwood all the way up through stone harbor, atlantic city, brigantine, margate, ventnor you're under severe thunderstorm warning and it gets into ocean county, as well, manahawkin, barnegot, toms river, you're under severe thunderstorm warning. egg harbor city, you're included in that, as well. notice one thing you're seeing here, the reds are beginning to

disappear that means the system is beginning to weaken now as it hits the coast. nonetheless this is heavy rain. we have a frawb warning for philadelphia -- flash flood warning for montgomery county and lower bucks and mercer county. we picked up two to three inches of rain with this line that pushed through there. we have a squall line track, surf city, 7:49 a.m., atlantic city, same time it will be over top you guys and then out to sea. areas west of there, we're starting to see the sun peek through. it's a small, but powerful system that's in the process of pushing through, it's the remnants of what was once tropical storm cindy. 8:00 a.m. a lot of this is at the coast or off the coastline working out to sea. cloudy skies most of south jersey, the immediate philadelphia area, western suburbs you're starting to see the sun peek through. you're starting to feel the

change in the humidity that's one of the biggest things you'll notice this afternoon. we're finally going to lose the tropical humidity. we're forecasting a high of 90 that's warm for this time of the year. the normal is 84, 85. that's above normal. with the humidity dropping it may feel better than yesterday where we had the dewpoints in the mid 70s. the way the day plays out here, we keep the cloudy skies in place 8:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m. mix of sun arena clouds, lowering humidity leaves. 90 degrees. once we hit 65 or high it becomes humid. we get into the 70-plus range that's oppressive. all the numbers with the exception of the jersey shore were in the 70s, we're beginning to see the numbers drop off a little bit. during the course of the day,

750 we're getting reports ever damage with the severe weather, trish hartman is live along can you cuthbert boulevarn collingswood, new jersey. you're seeing damage, but no injuries where you are. storm took 15 minutes, it's going to take hours to clean things up. we're seeing a lot of damage like this, you can see the tree branch is laying right there on the power lines, so they are encouraging drivers to avoid this area and areas like this, we're seeing emergency vehicles fire truck coming through this intersection right now. a lot of downed trees a lot of branches all over allowance and the street making it tricky to drive. down park after there's a branch down the street here in the middle of the block.
