several houses. >> "action news" reporter christie ileto is live near the scene along park boulevard , and christie, what is the very latest there. >> reporter: well, walter fire crews are still on the scene trying to monitor hot spots, which was a three alarm fire this afternoon. we know that two of the homes appears to be a total loss, one of them has heavy smoke, water and fire damage. i want to go to viewer video. this is a drum shot from the "action news" video that shows how dense that smoke from that three alarm fire became, initially, this call came for help, out as a marina fire just after 3:00 o'clock this afternoon, and the fast moving flames grew into a raging inferno. another viewer captured this thick black smoke, billowing from the circumference of the wildwood crest home. no word on what sparked this blaze, but investigators are focusing on the area in between two of the homes, that is where a witness, put the fire, out, said they spotted

the fire just before it quickly grew out of control. now emergency crews say it took two hours to tame this three alarm fire, and it wasn't because of the wind but because of, how spaced out the fire hydrants are in this neighborhood. >> we had some wind in this area where it is a dead zone and our hydrant they are a block or two apart this one we had to lay from new jersey avenue and lay three blocks over new jersey avenue and there is no hydrant within these areas here. getting water to the fire was toughest spot. once we are here we are lock into this corner. >> reporter: now, again what you are looking at back here live are fire crews, trying to monitor these hot spots to three homes, two again appear to be total loss, one of them has extensive fire, smoke and water damage. but the silver lining is here that fortunately there were no injuries. on some of those homes it appears that two home owners were able to get out, other one were enjoying a day at the beach. so nobody was injured.

but, again, two of those homes are a total loss. reporting live from the shore, christie ileto for channel six "action news". walter? >> thanks, christie. police in camden county identified woman who was found shot to death inside of her home in the winslow township. investigators say 45 year-old deand a marie squirto had been shot repeatedly inside the home on the 700 block of bearedmore avenue this morning at 4:00 o'clock. she was pronounced dead at the scene. no arrests have been made. investigators including, k-9 units continue to look for evidence on the scene. pennsylvania state police identified pedestrian who was killed during an early morning crash, on the vine street expressway in center city. it happened at 4:45 a.m. on the eastbound side of 676, just east of broad street. police say that philip west was taken to hahnemann university hospital, and pronounced dead a short time later. no word yet if the driver face s any possible charges. authorities in chester county are investigating a house fire that claimed the life of a young boy, earlier this morning.

the flames broke out overnight ine coventry township sending multiple fire crews rushing to the scene. "action news" reporter annie mccormack is live at the june in the unit block of buck walter road with the full details, annie. >> reporter: sarah, local police and local fire fighters responded, they say, the home was fully engulfed by the time that they locate that had little boy, it was just too late. teddy bears held a sympathy note in the driveway of the scene of this morning's fatal fire, fire crew from his the fire company responded just after 5:30 this morning to this house at corner of ellis wood road and buckwalter road in east coventry township according to pennsylvania state police, fire fighters found the boy, inside of the house, before rushing him to a awaiting ambulance. he was pronounced dead at the scene. his father tried to save his son and was injured, during rescue efforts. the fire marshalls ruling this ab accident and at this point investigators believe that the fire originated in the kitchen

amusement park gets held their breath as they watched a 14 year-old girl dank from an amusement park ride in upstate new york. it happened last night at six flags greatest scape near albany, teen, from greenwood, delaware and her little brother were riding the bond l park officials say ride came to a stop and moments later the girl was dangling, 25 feet off of the paver. man walking by caught her but injured himself in the process park officials say ride and seat were in working order so it is still unclear how she fell. well, hot rod and cool designs were on display atwood high school in warminster. is there "action news" reporter jeff chirico and their son showing off their classic car with the name a volkswagen thing. it is known as wheels on wood. organizers are collecting donations to cover cost for a new solar powered bus stop, the township has already approved the plans for the stop, all they need right now

is money to pay for it. in philadelphia, today unique festival celebrated african arts. "action news" was there at stenton park in logan where performers played traditional african music on drums. variety of drums and clothing were up for sale as part of the drum festival. celebrated the start of summer to day with games, grilling and live music. it was all part of the all american barbecue today at dilworth park. the five day festival wrapped up with some games, and fun. they were serving up burgers, hot dogs, hot off the grill. girls got to play dress up and have breakfast with their favorite fairy tail princesses maggie's cafe in torresdale hosted an enchanted breakfast, children were invited to dress like a princess, or whatever makes them feel like a princess. fun way to start the day. >> very nice. much more to come on "action news" tonight, jeff skversky has sports including highlights from today's phillies game against diamond backs. that and much more when "action news" comes right back

nearly 1500 amateur and professional athletes took part in the 13th annual philadelphia escape triathlon this morning. it kick off bright and early at fairmount park, even though swimming portion and schuylkill river was cancelled , due to conditions in the wake of the yesterday's heavy rain, these athletes gotti great work out from the fun and bike portions of the race. jeff's here with sports. the phillies still working to get it all together. >> yeah, i don't think it will happen anytime soon, with this team. >> i think you are right. >> trust the process, right. there were high expectations for michael saunders in the middle of the phillies line up and jeanmar gomez in the back of the bull pen but both did not live up to it. saunders and gomez are officially released to day it is hot in arizona again today, 114 degrees at first pitch, phillies fans aren't used to
