means the government shutdown is coming to an end after three days. the big story on "action news" is the agreement to pass a budget and end the state shutdown. closed beaches and parks will likely be open in time for the fourth. >> we have heard from state assembly leaders. we now await a conference with governor chris christie. we are waiting for the governor to come to the podium. in the meantime, chris christie is live at the state house. a busy night in trenton and there are still votes to be taken. >> that's right, sharrie. state lawmakers are calling it the best budget they have seen in ten years. it appears the bargaining chip was around the healthcare.

there will be a compromise for the health insurer horizon, blue cross blue shields to turn over millions in reserves. the governor dmabded more control over the budget. lawmakers spent hour hours tryio hash out a fair deal. >> we are capping the results. anything in excess goes back to the subscribers. there is give and take in everything you do. for me, and i know the speaker also, we care a great deal about the finances in the budget. it's the best budget we have seen in ten years. it provides for a lot of people. that's what we care about. >> a lot of work to be done. that impasse had left 35,000 state workers furloughed. those roles reopen wednesday.

i sought two things, increased transparency and accountability for the new jersey monopolistic insurance company and end to hoarding of taxpayer money, increase premiums and decrease in charitable responsibilities. not all that i sought in my concerns in the february budget speech are there. that's the nature of compromise. people are tired of ever increasing premiums and i'm tired of profits from tax-payer medicaid. i'm proud of the result. for the last two weeks i was told that no bill on horizon would be passed now, that reform had to wait. that was unacceptable to me. despite the doubts of some folks, tonight we have received the results i asked for in february. we take the final steps this

it's been a hot weekend. the high friday 93. 80s saturday. yesterday and today, 91. three of the past four days, temperatures are in the 90s. three days in a row to be a heatwave. we fall short of that tomorrow. future tracker showing 9:00 in the morning, warm. temperatures across the board, 70s. upper 70s in philadelphia as we head into the afternoon. we climb to the upper 80s. it will be on the humid side and into the evening hours, temperatures scaled back to the 70s by 9:00. the fourth of july forecast, partly sunny, schieghtly humid, temperatures in the upper 80s. i'm tracking the possibility of spotty showers. we talk about that in the seven-day forecast. >> sharrie? >> cecily, thank you.
