video shows on the excavation of a large tank. the temporary coffin for three of these men. it is friday night and the big story on "action news" tonight is the arrest of cosmo dinardo's alleged accomplice and the bucks county d.a. disclosing the details of this sordid tale. "action news" reporters nora muchanic in solebury township, vernon odom in buckingham township and trish hartman in doylestown have covered every angle. we begin with trish hartman with a full accounting of what we learned today. trish. >> reporter: well, jim, we now know much more about what happened to these four young men who have been missing since last week according to what cosmo dinardo told investigators, the d.a. says dinardo and his cousin, sean kratz face charges of homicide, conspiracy and abuse of corpse. the d.a. also says without dinardo's confession they might still be looking for the

final body. >> as a result of an agreement that i decided to make with cosmo dinardo, we were able to also secure jimmy patrick's body and bring him home. >> reporter: here's what dinardo told investigators. on july 5th cosmo dinardo agreed to sell jimmy patrick 4 pounds of marijuana for $8,000 and drove him to his family farm. when patrick only had $800 dinardo offered to sell him a shotgun instead. dinardo then shot patrick and used the backhoe to bury his body. then on july 7th dinardo agreed to sell dean finocchiaro marijuana but first picked up his cousin sean kratz. the two planned to rob finocchiaro and dinardo gave kratz a hands gun belonging to his mother. they take him to the property where kratz shot him in the head could, to dinardo. on july 7 dinardo meets up with tom meo and sturgis.

may meo's car is left on aqua tong road. dinardo shoots meo in the back and sturgis is shot as he runs away. dinardo then runs meo over with a backhoe. all three bodies are placed a metal tank. the next day dinardo and kratz return to bury the tank 12 feet underground using the backhoe. weintraub says the victims family showed tremendous strength as investigators worked to bring their loved ones home. >> i hope that i'm never in their shoes but if i ever were, i play prey that i could handle this with the courage and the dignity that they've exhibited. >> reporter: now the d.a. also said that dinardo's confession led investigators to his alleged accomplice, sean kratz as well as the weapons used in this case in exchange for the confession dinardo will be spared the

death penalty. reporting live in doylestown, trish hartman channel6 "action news": jim. >> thank you, trish. let's switch live to the district justice's office in buckingham township and vernon odom, and vernon both dinardo and kratz were video arraigned there today on murder charges. what was that like? >> reporter: it was sort of dry and very quick, jim. sean kratz has had many previous brushes with the law but only one conviction. that was for retail theft but tonight he is in real deep hot water. both murder suspects cosmo dinardo and sean kratz were formally arraigned this afternoon. neither appeared in court. it was all done by closed circuit television. both are being held without bail. they are cousins. >> obviously, you know, the allegations consist of both mr. dinardo and mr. kratz committing multiple murders over a week-long period.

bail was appropriately set at zero. >> reporter: kratz was taken into custody overnight without incident at his mother's home in philadelphia's lawndale section. but authorities today were focusing their evidence gathering at the ambler montgomery county home of his father using metal detectors. the bucks county district attorney says both of the firearms used in the killing of the four victims have been recovered. kratz is implicated in the last three shooting deaths and disposal of those bodies. both are being held at two separate locations until their hearings at the end of the month. >> it's typical in any criminal case where there's co-defendants charged and there could be danger to them and other prisoners where we would move one of those witnesses, one of those prisoners rather to another prison in order to assure the safety of both them as well as other prisoners. >> reporter: the next door neighbors of kratz's father have known sean for a long time. they are shocked to learn of the serious charges against him. >> nice guy. used to talk to him like every

day. >> reporter: jim, the hearings for kratz and dinardo have been scheduled now for july 31st. no bail again as i said before but 31st here at the magistrate's office in buckingham township. i'm vernon odom, channel6 "action news" in bucks county. >> thank you vernon. "action news" reporter nora muchanic is back in solebury township which was really ground zero for all of this. nora, drug deals, murder, burying people in a 12-foot hole, this is not what folks there are used to thinking about. >> reporter: it certainly is not, jim, and that is why this horrifying multiple murder has gripped this area. now, we talked to a number of people today about the latest developments and it includes the uncle of one of the victims. >> i have an 18-year-old son. so, i am upset, deeply inside for everybody that's involved. >> reporter: there is compassion for the victim's

families and horror at the details of how these four young men met their deaths on the solebury farm that has been the focus of investigators for days. >> thank god they got them but poor people and poor family. >> you're speechless on these things. you just don't know what to say. you know, but it happens all the time and you just shake your head and say -- have no reason behind it. >> reporter: murder charges lodged against cosmo dinardo and his accused accomplice sean kratz, some family members are reacting to the details of their loved ones' gruesome murders. i spoke today by phone with the seattle based uncle of 19-year-old jimmy patrick of newtown. >> four people, i mean, this is something he thought about, he dug a hole, he spent the time to burn the bodies. he spent the time to cover it up. >> reporter: patrick says he's okay with the deal that's allowing cosmo dinardo to avoid the death penalty in exchange for his confession. it led to locating his nephew jimmy's grave more than a half mile away from where the others were buried. >> i don't believe in the

experienced more severe weather today for a second successive day. the downpours are causing flash floods like here along shore road in absecon, new jersey. we could get even more. meteorologist cecily tynan is live in the "action news" big board and cecily you're promising a good weekend. when do we make that transition? >> we will start to as we head through the overnight hours. what's happening, there's a cold front that's pressing to the south. this is the same system that's sparked the tornado warning for berks county. the stormy weather north and west last night. now it's across south jersey and delaware. this the past 15 minutes we've had close to 900 lightning strikes and folks at the jersey shore with dogs, the dogs have been upset all evening 'cause we've had a lot of vicious thunder and lightning. zooming in you can see the heaviest part of the storm has shifted off into the ocean picking up some rotation there. could be a water spout trying to storm. that's a fish storm though. that continues to push to the east.

we still have some heavy rain beginning to move towards dennisville. as we go wider there's pockets of heavy rain. the severe weather has moved out. we can flip this over and show you how much rain has fallen this afternoon and we're looking at a pretty good dose of rain. generally some of these areas you see in yellow as much as about 2-inches of rain, a little bit more just to the east of moorestown and that has caused localized flooding. that's the main concern as we head through the evening hours. we have a flash flood warning in effect for really most of south jersey, parts of a new castle county until 7:15. this is because that rain had been falling at the rate of about 2-inches per hour, so very heavy rain. this is why. dewpoints in the 70's. it's tropical but it will get more comfortable this weekend. turning slightly less humid, dewpoints in the 60's. a warm and dry weekend. next week it gets hot again with the threat of storms returning. i'll talk about that, also talk about the shore forecast this weekend in the accuweather forecast.

>> a drug raid at a home in grays ferry in philadelphia uncovered what police are calling a heroin lab. investigators wore full hazmat suits as they brought evidence out of the home on 28th street. they say that's because most heroin is now laced with the opioid fentanyl which can cause a person to overdose even if it just touches the skin. neighbors are angry that drug manufacturing was allegedly happening right near where children are playing. >> it's pathetic. it's very pathetic. you need to know who you live next door to. >> neighbors say several children were inside the home when the raid happened. they were taken to chop as a precaution. police still haven't said who, if anyone has been charged. a young man was killed when he was hit by a car in the parkside section of philadelphia early this morning. police say the man was walking near 53rd and parkside when the vehicle struck him just after midnight.

the victim was in his late teens or early 20's. he died at the hospital. a nationwide bridal boutique has shut its doors just at the height of the wedding season. the store's abrupt closure overnight has left brides scrambling but "action news" was able to help spare the big day for one bride. "action news" reporter alicia vitarelli has that story. >> here are your dresses. >> oh, my gosh. thank you so much. >> reporter: this is a happy ending for gina cooper after our determined "action news" producer cheryl met 10 dorf delivered her bridesmaids gowns this afternoon. the panicked bride to be contacted us after learning the dresses for her november nuptials were being held hostage at the now shuttered alfred angelo bridal boutique in cherry hill. it turns out cooper wasn't the only bride left scrambling. >> i don't know what i'm going to do. i'm probably going to have to get a dress off the record. >> reporter: tiffany's record is eight weeks out. she said she saw the twitter

frenzy. samantha says all her bride maids gowns are inside the now locked up shop. she along with dozens of other panicked customers all showed up at the boutique on route 70 in cherry hill looking for answers. >> i got text yesterday saying that they closed the doors and i couldn't get the dresses. >> reporter: when "action news" arrived our cameras caught employees boxing up gowns and other items. outside the frantic brides tried to get their attention even calling the police. then they took to holding up notes with their names pleading for their merchandise. in hopes the woman inside would sneak their paid for gowns out the door. when an employee finally did answer. >> i'm not allowed to comment. off camera she told us they were told to lock up shop last night with no explanations and then some hope for those waiting in the rain. dresses that were in stock were handed out by the two good hearted employees inside. including the dresses for cooper to our producer. >> thank you "action news" for saving my big day you guys are

>> all-star break is ohio river valley you know what that means. >> hopefully what it means is that the phillies play a little bit better than they did in the first half. that was ugly. they're back. phillies back from the all-star break tonight in milwaukee. phillies are on pace to have their worse 162 game season in team history. hopefully this does get a little bit better. tough start to the second half. brewers are in first place. nick pivetta gets the start tonight. he has the most strikeouts. despite the worst record in baseball phillies pitchers have been sharp since early june only two staffs in baseball have logged more innings. >> the last month especially our starters gave us the

innings that i would like to see them give us and, you know, pivetta has done very well. nola resurged got back to where we've seen him before and even better. eickhoff pitched well the other day finally got his first win. >> guess who is back in the wimbledon men's final. roger federer again for a record 11th time. he'll face merion stilitch. he's yes et cetera to lose a set including today in the tell me my finals against tomas burd ditch. count down to training camp is on carson wentz and eagles quarterbacks as well as rookies report next sunday. wentz believes they're capable of going from worst to first. how is eagles coach doug pederson spending his final free weekend before camp? popping champagne or at least trying to during a champagne

>> yes, the weekend should be better. dewpoints in the 60's instead of 70's. just a little bit muggy but it's going to feel a lot better than today, much better. let's go live on sky6 showing you cape may, new jersey where we've been getting some pretty vicious storms, some heavy rain and lightning but it all pays off this weekend because there's a cold front that's moving through and this is what will help clear the air. now double scan live showing we still have some activity across south jersey and delaware. the severe weather, though, has left the region, so we're just looking at pockets of some run of the mill thunderstorms but they do have some heavy rain. you can see some scattered thunderstorms right across the mouth of the delaware bay, also sea isle city. this was the cluster that moved through. this view including off the atlantic showing more than 400 lightning strikes and these storms are strong enough to cause some damage. nickel sized hail in mays landing, buena vista reporting

hail the size of quarters and phoenixville earlier this afternoon wind damage bringing down trees and wires. west chester's windows damaged and in toms river a gas line was struck by lightning. so, it was a pretty vicious line of storms moving through and it's really cleared the air. right now at least temperature-wise quite a bit cooler than the past few days. temperatures are in the 70's. philadelphia's high today only 79 degrees with the clouds and the showers but the dewpoints also in the 70's. very close to the air temperature so our air is practically saturated but the dewpoints will be dropping a little bit over the weekend. it won't be dewpoints in the 40's and 50's like a couple weekends ago but we're looking at dewpoints generally in the 60's so that means it will be a little bit on the humid side put not oppressive like today but then next week the dewpoints start to rise as we head towards the middle of the week and temperatures also will be rising. so, tonight the storms from the south will be ending. it will remain humid for the evening hours. 66 in the suburbs. about 72 degrees for center

city. tomorrow a warm day, less humid than today with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. more clouds in the morning, more sun in the afternoon. really a pretty nice summer day. 87 in philadelphia f-85 in allentown. cape may 84 and wilmington 86. so, if you're down the shore, it's stormy now. it's going to be a lot better tomorrow. 65 the ocean temperature. less humid with a land breeze tomorrow, a high of 86 degrees and sunday getting a little bit of a sea breeze quicking be -- kicking up a high of 84. heading up to the poconos it will be spectacular in the mountains lowering humidity for your saturday a comfortable-78 trees and sunday nothing but sunshine a gorgeous day with a high of 76. so, the exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, the weekend looking much better than today and yesterday. the sunshine is back after kind of partly cloudy skies in the morning. should be nice weather for the union game. the high 87 degrees. dewpoints in the 60's so not nearly as oppressive as today. on sunday, humidity still in check but lots of sunshine.

it gets warm again with a high of 90 degrees. monday we keep that temperature but we add the humidity with a high of 90 and tuesday you guessed it, still humid, still hot with a high of 90 degrees, some isolated thunderstorms developing on tuesday. wednesday it's hot and humid, scattered thunderstorms possible, 90. thursday, though, oppressive. remember yesterday very similar to that on thursday. 93 degrees the high. dewpoints in the 70's. some thunderstorms. on friday it's mostly cloudy, could be an active day with some thunderstorms and the a -- and a high of 91 degrees. in exweek we get heat wave number five. this weekend temperatures in the 80's. pretty nice. >> thank you cecily. today is bastille day but as some festive folks in south philadelphia are proving, you don't have to be french to celebrate. just about an hour ago, the good king tavern shut down cater street for an outdoor party. they're offering a special
