philadelphia killing one of them. and john mccain released a message after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. but the big story is an alert from accuweather. most of the area is under an excessive heat warning and the heat and humidity is expected to feel worse through the afternoon and the conditions are potentially dangerous. meteorologist, karen rogers, is in the weather center with a first check of your forecast. >> reporter: hi rick, that is right. this is our third straight day of the temperatures in the 90s. this is the worst of t. well to the northern and west we have a few storms and one could reach to the northwest of the city. the access he heat warning goes into effect and lasts too tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. look at these numbers, it's already 90 degrees in reading, 91 in allentown and 92 in philadelphia, and 92 in atlantic city airport. a little further inland from the coast and 91 degrees right now

authorities were back at the property owned by cosmo dinardo. as police fanned out across the property, they are investigating the murders of four young men after dinardo confessed to shooting them on the farmland and police uncovered the bodies last week and requested a k-9 unit to help with their search today. >> in northeast philadelphia one of the victims is being laid to rest. family and friends gathered for tom meo's funeral held at the church and dozens of mourners attended a visitation in torresdale. >> police are searching for a man that stabbed two women in south philadelphia overnight and a 4 8-year-old woman dies and they believe that the suspect is the daughter's ex-boyfriend. katherine scott is live at police headquarters with the latest on the investigation.

>> reporter: rick, when police arrived to that scene overnight. police say that that mother was conscious and talking and was able to tell officers a little bit about what happened to them. however, she died at the hospital two hours later, meanwhile her daughter remains in the hospital this noon in critical condition. >> she doesn't bother nobody. >> a 48-year-old woman dead, her 21-year-old daughter injured in a double stabbing in philadelphia. >> hard work and doing anything for her daughters. candles a teddy bear sit on the front door of daily terrace. after investigationers scour the scene for evidence. police were called shortly before 2:00 a.m. and they say that the daughters 25-year-old ex-boyfriend apparently engaged by a recent breakup attacked them. >> was upset by the fact that he got dumped and she broke up with

him a few days ago. that is what motivated this particular stabbing. >> the daughter had a severe stab wound to her neck and the mother was stabbed in the chest. p video captured him run ago way and the two women laying injured you side. neighbors rushed to call 911. >> i thank god for the men that were brave enough to help her. >> police know who the suspect is and they have his name in north philadelphia. he has been arrested before but investigators have not said why. neighbors say that officers were just called to the home a few days ago after the two were arguing. >> they had an incident on monday and now we are here on thursday, and now her mother is dead and she is fighting for her life. >> we know who he is and where he lives, we just have to find him. >> reporter: there was a third person in the house while all of
