use our mobile app to stay informed and get tips on how to stay cool. and look at storm tracker 6 live, the 6 abc app is a free download for your mobile device. if you're just waking up with us, firefighters rescued two people from a burning home in juniata. when firefighters got to the home flames were shooting out of the home 4100 block of jay street. when they got the flames under control, they discovered a man and woman inside the home. the woman was rushed to temple hospital to be treated. the man was not injured. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire. police are investigating two crime scenes blocks away from one another in the city's feltonville section. investigators say a 23-year-old was shot three times after an argument this morning on the 100 block of east rockland street. the victim was able to run to nearby after-hours club on rising sun avenue and told a

friend what happened to him. that friend later spotted the shooting suspect and fired shots of his own. police later recovered a gun under a car. the shooting victim remains this morning in critical condition. three people were hurt after two cars collided on i-95 in chester, delaware county overnight. police say the accident happened in the northbound lanes near chestnut street at about 1:45 a.m. police shut down i-95 north to the border of ridley township for 45 minutes as they investigate the the scene. three people had to be taken to crozer-chester to be treated. woman, our extreme heat is having an impact on the battle to bring a huge forest fire burning in burlington county under control. chopper 6 hd right there flying high above the scene there. this was last night as thick smoke rose from the flames in washington township. it's has burned 3,000 acres near

historic batsto village. it is 60% contained. happening today, the public is invited to pay their respects for visitation to dean finocchiaro one of the four men found murdered on a farm in solbury township. his visit aches takes place from noon -- visitation takes place from noon to 4:00 p.m. today. dean finocchiaro graduated from in a neshaminy in 2016. funeral services were held for jimi patrick at the church of saint andrew in newtown yesterday. he graduated from holy ghost prep school and heading into his sophomore year at loyola university in maryland. president trump is weighing in on former white house press secretary sean spicer's abrupt

the white house needs to better convey the message of its success. meanwhile, the white house has not commented on another troublesome headline, the washington post reported that u.s. intelligence interpreted conversations in which russian ambassador to the u.s. told moscow he specifically discussed election related issues with then senator jeff sessions. sessions who is now attorney general testified twice that the campaign never came up in the meetings. that news broke hours after sessions was in philadelphia to talk about sanctuary cities and efforts to combat crime. the state of new jersey has raised its smoking age to # 1. it is now just the third state in the nation with such a restriction. chris christie signed the measure into law yesterday raising the age from 19 years old. the restriction applies to tobacco products and electronic

smoking devices. governor chris christie cited a strain on the healthcare system that's caused by tobacco related illnesses, hawaii and california are the only other states whose smoking age is 21. hundreds of people on the

eastern greek island of coast spent the night sleeping outdoors after a powerful earthquake damaged the region. two tourists were killed and 500 others injured when the 6.7 earthquake hit there friday morning. it led to the ferry services being temporarily suspended. dozens of after shocks have taken the islands which have frightened many residents and tourists there. a simple mistake caused a whole lot of damage to a plane undergoing may maintenance. officials say the plane rolled down an embankment into a fence after the mechanic forgot to set the brakes. the plane was undergoing maintenance, a crane was used to remove the plane. good news nobody was hurt, and

you're sick and tired of all the humidity, relief arrives monday night. the heat wave officially breaks tomorrow, but it will be humid as we head into sunday and monday. it's monday night when the humidity leaves finally calm back down and drop into the 50s and 60s. we still have a couple of more days before that comes to an end. heat wave ends tomorrow. huge line of showers and thunderstorms, the southern edge of this was through this morning. they are having a tremendous amount of flooding, some locations have picked up 3 inches of rain in a half-hour's time. that will create problems for the folks out there. good news for us, when it marches into our neck of the woods, it will be moving pretty fast. we might have flash flooding, but not to the level they are dealing with out there. 7:00 p.m., the line is over south jersey, hitting the shore by 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m.

the 21-year-old was shot in the stomach on the 5200 block of germantown avenue before 1:00 a.m. police are looking for the shooter. from our delaware newsroom overnight a 15-year-old girl is one of two people shot on east 27th street in wilmington. someone started shooting after midnight in the area. the teenage victim was taken a. i. do you upon -- dupont childs hospital. a 30-year-old man was shot and is stable condition. police are investigating the circumstances around the double shooting no arrests have been made. a motorcyclist was tragically killed while riding down i-95 in delaware last weekend. we learned he was struck by two drivers who never stopped. the family is pleading for help dann cuellar spoke with the family. >> reporter: the horrific

accident scene haunts the family of christopher cooper of northeast philadelphia struck by two vehicles after losing control of his motorcycle. >> they kept going and they have not turned themselves in yet. >> reporter: family members say cooper who worked for the philadelphia water department was an avid motorcycle rider. he was ridings wife's bike in christiana delaware. suddenly he somehow lost control and was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. he was subsequently struck and killed by two cars whose drivers did not stop and render aid something unbelievable to his widow a registered nurse. >> it's unbelievable to think there are people on it there in the world like that, i care for everybody. >> i want the people to come forward admit to their mistakes. there's got to be front end

sunglasses from the design for vision in newtown, township. here's what police say he did. he set the two infants on the floor in the their car seats and tried on sunglasses. he placed the sunglasses on the baby's faces and police say he hid them in their car seats. a dozen afghanistan security forces have been killed in a u.s. airstrike in afghanistan. the friendly fire killed 12 people from the afghanistan national police and injured two others. afghanistan national security forces have been waging fierce battles to retake territory from the taliban. in the past five days, nato carried out 52 strikes in the southern part of the country to support average forces. you're going to need a special passport in order to travel to north korea, the state department made that announcement yesterday following a ban on travel to the country. travelers may get a special

validation passport for humanitarian reasons. however other travel will be cancel due to mounting risk of attention and -- detention and arrests. jeff sessions was in philadelphia asking officials to rethink giving sanctuary to illegal immigrants. police commissioner, richard ross said philadelphia is fighting a bigger battle. >> i don't personally believe we belong in the immigration business. that's for the people in the buildings and around the corner. i believe that given the fact that we want to cultivate as as many relationships with the community as possible we need to have people come forward and work with us without fear of being taken away. president trump has tried to cut funding from cities that limit cooperation with the u.s. immigration authorities.

the time 7:38 a.m., pennsylvania lawmakers are working through the weekend to finalize the state budget, governor tom wolf allowed the 32 billion-dollar spending plan to become law without his signature last week. however, the governor and the legislature need to agree how to fill a projected 2 billion-dollar hole in revenues. there are two major announcements from penn state university, first the board of trustees has approved 2.5% tuition hike for the coming school year. board nominated mark damly of the philadelphia based penrose properties. chris christie wants to keep internet gambling legal. he signed a bill yesterday urging the president and congress not to enact a nationwide ban on internet gambling. online betting has helped to revive atlantic city struggling casino industry.

with us, strong storms moved through the midwest move ago destruction. most of the damage was in the suburbs of chicago. the winds rolled through yesterday evening and knocked down trees and power lines. officials with the national weather service are expected to be out today to survey the damage. 7:43 a.m., meteorologist chris sowers tracking our forecast and i was about to hit somebody with all this heat out there, man. >> reporter: calm down. >> relief is on the way. >> reporter: tomorrow is not a bad day, it will be humid, the high will be 83. we can handle that. it's just that today we have

another hot one to get through. old city, sun is starting to shine it's humid once again. we have quite a bit of energy in the atmosphere. storm protection center has the entire viewing area from baltimore to washington, d.c. under the gun for severe weather, strong powerful straight line wind and hail, if you have a pool party or anything outdoors, keep an eye to the sky conditions, because the skies will turn threatening at some point today. 978 is where we started out this morning. we're up to 80 degrees. trenton, 76. millville, 76. wilmington, 79. dover, 77. 72 in allentown. 65 in the poconos. cape may, 75. part of the region why the heat warning has been discontinued and heat advisory has been

dropped, feels-like temperatures today should stay under 100 degrees, that's the criteria you get to 100 or higher they stop the warnings. under 100, all the warmings discontinue. 99 feels like in philadelphia. mid 90s 0 to the west. you can see how that disappearance as the line of storms races through and drops all the feels-like temperatures into the 60s and 70s. again there's relief on the way here. it's this cluster of showers and thunderstorms that will bring it. the only concern is will that cluster and thunderstorms bring wind damage to parts of the area. this number is taken in 15 minute increments. this is marching east in the far western suburbs first and in the city, 6:30, 7.
