township police department in browns mills with the latest on the investigation. >> reporter: we can tell that you police tell us that the 14-year-old girl did exactly the right thing by running and not getting inside of that truck. they are urging people to walk in pairs and be on the lookout for the truck. >> it was no typical stroll for 14-year-old girl in browns mills, police say a criminal was lurking in the area. he spotted the teenager and thought he had an easy target and tried to abduct her. >> we don't know who they are or where they are from but we want to get them off the street. >> the girl's quick thinking likely saved her life and she screamed and ran for help. >> a male in a brown ford ranger pickup truck pulled up to her and the male was wearing some sort of mask. and demanding she get into the vehicle and when she turned and

hall, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. 29-year-old travis is behind bars tonight accused of selling drugs to a patient inside of a minneapolis county hospital. the patient 0-year-old sierra hadrick overdosed in a bathroom inside of her hospital room. he was arraigned on drug delivery are resulting in death. and surveillance video shows him arriving there on five separate days, he allegedly sold heroin and pills and on the final occasion, fentanyl. >> 40 to 50 times more deadly than the deadly drug heroin and by delivering the poison, travis killed sierra. >> investigators say that they arranged the drug sales through text messages. dramatic moments in west philadelphia when a residential home on the unit block of south ruby street suddenly collapsed.

half of the building cru crumb,abling to the ground and they are homeless and understandably shaken up. sara bloomquist is live now on ruby street with more on the story. >> reporter: rick, the home was leveled, taken to the ground because of fears of more collapse here. lni is now investigating and that couple was left with nothing. contractors worked through the day taking down what remained of the home at ruby street near market it was her son that lived in the house with the long time girlfriend. >> he is well but visibly upset. at 4:45 this morning neighbors heard creaking and cracking and then came the collapse. >> was on the porch. sitting on the porch and i heard a mild earthquake a squeaky cracking sound. >> we just pulled up and heard crackling and then a big boom and that was the wall coming down. >> the manta lived here was

lying on a downstairs sofa said the cat started to act strangely and the girlfriend heard the cracking noises and came to the stop of the stairs and moments later the side wall was gone and left hanging from the second floor banister. the neighbor and his friend climbed the debris to help the dazed couple. >> climbed up the wall and helped her down and her husband down. she was really shaken up. >> later the pet cat baxter was rescued from a second floor bedroom and friends helped the couple salvage what clothing and belongings they could. the mural on the side was part of a collection called a love letter for you. some wonder if that contributed to the collapse. >> dig too close or something like that. >> a spokesperson for lni says the home was not in good

condition and the row homes on either side were demolished in the past and compromised the structural integrity. if the rain contributed or if the construction next door was done properly. the driver of a dump truck ended up in a dangerous situation. the bed of the truck hit wires as it pulled out of a construction site in voorhees. and the truck draggeded whole utility pole into the middle of the street and oddly it stayed upright and the driver was not injured. a dart bus ended up in a crash here in afternoon. police and firefighters responding to the scene at augustine cutoff at 2:00. and the bus careen into the bushes after colliding with the car.

15 new jersey beaches are closed tonight due to elevated levels of bacteria in the water. environment am officials say it's a result of stormy weather at the jersey shore over the past couple of days. nora muchanic has more on the closures and what it will mean for beach goers. >> the red flag is up on the pennsylvania avenue beach in atlantic city. one of seven beaches in the resort that have swimming bans in effect because of high levels of bacteria. >> what if i get sick? i have a few cuts and it seeps into my body and i get sick. >> it's gross and i came down for the day for my daughter's birthday, we'll find something else to do now. >> in beachwood, ocean county along the toms river, swimming is banned because of high bacteria counts. it could make you sick. >> eye infection, diarrhea

vomiting and reading of the eyes and ear infections especially among children. >> swimming bans are in effect up and down the jersey coast. they were at the beach today taking samples of the water contaminated by bird dropping and chemicals in the runoff by heavy rains. >> we take it in three locations where people would be swimming to give us a bigger sample size. water testing of areas closed and they won't reopen until the bacteria levels until they are acceptable limits. given how big the tourism industry is having safe clean water for swimmers is critical. i hope they keep testing and have the choice to say i'm not going to the water. >> the water in pine beach had levels ten times the standards, and plenty of boaters out on the river and stay away from closed

greater philadelphia sending more than 100 children to a week long summer camp in the poconos. the 140 children ages 7 to 12 packed up their bags and said good-bye to their families in west philadelphia. before they boarded buses and took off for camp lador and they will take place in hiking and arts and crafts and other fun activities.
