the big story on "action news" tonight is breaking news. a major shakeup at the white house. chief of staff reince preibus is out, general john f kelly will take that position beginning monday. president trump announced his pick through tweets about an hour ago. "i am pleased to inform you i have just named general secretary john f kelly as white house chief of staff. he's a great american an great john has also done a spectacular job at homeland security. he's been a true star of my administration ." president trump went on toli toe preibus for his service and dedication to his country. we accomplished a lot together and i am proud of him. communications director anthony scaramucci have reportedly been at odds inside the white house. earlier this week scaramucci claimed priebus was the source of some leaks coming from inside the administration. world news tonight of course with david muir will have much more on the latest white house shakeup coming up after thisoad.

>> ♪ now to an accuweather alert. heavy rain is headed our way. the potential for flooding is high because parts of our area are under a flash flood watch through tomorrow. let's head right over to meteorologist cecily tynan latest from double scan. cecily. >> monica double scan showing the center of the storm over the border of west virginia and virginia. it will be sliding to the south so the steadiest heaviest rain will be south of philadelphia and it will be happening through the overnight hours and right now you can see the atmosphere is beginning to moisten up. we do have some showers to the south and west. the steadiest rain curre t southern tip of cape may. association so we do have a flash flood watch posted just south of the pennsylvania turnpike. north of the pennsylvania turnpike doesn't look like you'll be getting enough rain to cause widespread flash flooding but south is the area that will be hit with the heaviest rain and this is t arey inundated with rain last weekend.

delaware and south jersey and that likely will cause some widespre we're looking at the potential for two to 4 inches of rain and where we can see some thunderstorms and some training with a thunderstorm -- where the thunderstorms occur over and over the same area, those are the areas that could get locally more than 4-inches of rain. so, timing it out,steadiest raie tonight. after about 10 o'clock. so, this is the time where we'll have the highest impact from the rain between 10 o'clock through 3 o'clock up until aboutow morning. but then the rain will begin to taper off. so, a moderate impact of rain by 10 o'clock. the afternoon it's low as that rain moves out and fortunately it will not be a washout of a weekend. i'll talk about improving weather and a big change in our pattern next week in the seven-day forecast. monica. >> all right, thank you cecily. the potential flooding is raising some concerns for folks along the jersey shore "action news" reporter trish hartman spent part of the day talking to merchants and visitors she's live in

atlantic city now with more. good evening, trish. >> reporter: good evening, monica. no rain here yet in atlantic city. it's just overcast and because of that, take a look on the beach. people are still out here enjoying this nice cool breeze. now, atlantic county officials say storms like this are something they're used to but they still want people here to use common sense as the storm approaches so, officials are -- sorry about that. we're having some technical difficulties with the piece here. atlantic county officials are telling people to secure their loose items here batten down any umbrellas, any chairs, anything that's loose that's outside. they also want people to keep a close eye on the forecast. also, if you have a car that's in a low lying area, that's flood prone, they're asking people to move those cars up

dann how is it all impacting rain traffic. >> reporter: well, the good news monica is that passengers are not being stranded they're interread about by other means because of this but right now the 7,000 block of river road remains shut down as track inspectors are examining the extent of the damage to the bridge and how soon it may be reopened. but it doesn't look like it's going to be any time soon. chopper6 ht was over the scene shortly after the mishap. truck belonging to robinson waste disposal still resting against the new jersey transit rail bridge its booand bent bace impact. a witness tells "action news" the driver apparently was not aware that the boom was raised when he tried to go under the bridge which has the clearance of 13 feet 8-inches. >> the truck with so much force that going 30 miles per hour it reversed automatically and then hit it again. guy was going like 25, 30 at least when i heard a big bang i was on my phone checking and all of a sudden i heard that

and, you know, the guy just got sent to the hospital. >> reporter: the impact was so hard it actually moved the bridge causing the train rails to shift significantly. the result is the bridge had to be closed and that means rail passengers traveling between here and atlantic city had to be ferried on buses between pennsauken and cherry hill. now, the truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. meantime patco is cross honoring new jersey rail city. the new jersey bus route 554 is also cross honoring rail tickets and passes atlantic city. so, transit riders have a number of options until they can make repairs to this bridge which remains shut down until further notice. we're live in here in pennsauken, i'm dann cuellar channel6 "action news." monica back to you. >> thank you dann.toric bones? excavated from olde city during a construction dig last winter. that's the question officials are asking tonight. the remains pleased to be s were

in a storage unit but that's apparently not the case for all of them. "action news" reporter john rawlins live in olde city with more. good evening, john. >> reporter: good evening, monica. it appears some of them are missing. we talked by phone with the rutgers camden professor kimberly moran who was overseeing much of the work of the recovered remains. she confirmed after checking their field records that the belief is that 12 of the remains are missing. as workers dug the foundations for a 21st century building they discovered bones and coffins, this site had once been an 18th century graveyard belonging to the first baptist church. work was stopped and experts were called in to exhume the remains that were found six to 14 feet beneath current ground level. >> one of the goals of this project is to very carefully recover the remains and give them a full analysis so we really understand who we have here. we are finding some intact coffins and we're also finding some remains, a a lot of

coffins are in poor condieportee remains of at least 78 individuals plus additional bones were recovered at the time. now comes word 12 of the remains are apparently missing. initially the developer stored the recovered materials at two locations in philadelphia. last spring they were transferred to a facility atther study. using an inventory log photos and a site map staffers concluded 12 sets of bones are pmcently unaccounted for. property group indicated it had delivered everything it had to rutgers. so, an unresolved situation at this time. the developer says it's checked both its storage areas. it has not been able to find anything else. there was no third location as far as storage of the remains here on the philadelphia side. while professor moran over in camden says while they have done their due diligence and they do believe 12 remains are missing. lie live in olde city, john rawlins channel6 "action news." monica. >> thank you john. this is 69-year-old

kenneth hoyle of philadelphia's frankford section. tonight he's charged with murdering his neighbors. hoyle is accused of shooting and killing robert depaul and his girlfriend august dempsey on july 16th. investigators questioned hle they say he admitted shooting the couple in the head outside of his home on james street but he claimed he was acting in self-defense and originally released. in new jersey, people are getting paid to help cut down on crime. law enforcement worked with rk today to buy unwanted guns no questions asked. >> it's good to get the guns off the street. i had it for awhile so i said let me turn it in 'cause i wanted out of the house. my wife was scared. >> shot guns handguns even bb guns were accepted. you can bring up to three weapons and turn them in on the spot for cash. officials say the guns will be destroyed so there's no chance they'll ever fall into the wrong hands. dreams do come true at

least for 180 low income youth who are graduating from a special camp tonight. the dream camp foundation teaches skills, builds self-esteem and inspires urban kids who need a champion. jeanette reyes has more from north philadelphia. >> reporter: it was a party youe dream camp celebrating at temple university. nearly 200 campers playedgames g away for the last so-called pow would wow. although this is all of course meant to be fun it's also an invaluable experience for these kids whose parents often can't afford the cost of summer camp. >> our program is pretty unique in that we offer a variety of activities. like i said it's also free of charge. >> reporter: nine-year-old brayden has been coming everysu. >> i can have fun, learn more things, throughout the summer. >> once they're with us

>> time to check accuweather. meteorologist cecily tynan >> second half of the weekend should be beautiful. let's go live on sky6 taking a look in cape may where the clouds are in place, the rain has been breaking out and double scan live showing that there's a lot of moisture on the way and really the axis of the heaviest moisture will be areas south of philadelphia, delaware, south jersey, the same areas that really got hithn overnight tonight. so, accuweather highlights show you that the rain overnight will be when it's most intense. we're looking at generally less than an inch in our far northern suburbs but areas to the south could get up to 4-inches of rain. so, it really depends on your location. delaware and south jersey the focus of that heavy rain with the potential for flash flooding. but fortunately it's not a washout of a weekend.

sunday will be gorgeous. we really have to get through tonight and early tomorrow morning. so, let's head you over to double scan live, show you that we do have some showers popping up now very close to philadelphia. ines and youup within about can see it's heavy downpour just to the north of route three, just to the east of the blue route and we'll see more of this as we head through the evening hours. farther down to the south it's been raining for about the last hour in dover. you can see cape may right now it's raining and you can also see the progression of that. it is gradually working up to the north and the east. temperature-wise though today we did see some sunshine, made it into the mid 80's. 81 degrees currently in philadelphia. the same in allentown. trenton 82. cape may 76. and wilmington currently 79. so, satellite and action radar showing the s tracking it's moving into virginia right now. it will become a coastal storm but fortunately it doesn't it will continue to move out as we head through the day

tomorrow. so really overnight is when we get the heaviest rain. future tracker showing around 11:30 we'll have some pockets of heavy rain. the widespread heavy rain moves in early tomorrow morning before day break it's going to be pouring along i-95 and areas to the south but then as we head through the morning hours, the atmosphere begins to dry out. still a few showers around b 10 o'clock. after lunchtime, though, the showers dissipate and by about 6:30 tomorrow morning, areas north and west could actually see some sunshine. still a lot of clouds around the coast, still a possibility of a shower but we'll continue to clear out from the west to the east as we head through the evening hours. and that opens the door for a beautiful end to the weekend and a start to next week. high p will bring us abound dan daunt sunshine. monday seasonably warm but low humidity w 87. down the shore not going to be a nice beach day. windy and rainy especially the
