jersey overnight. we'll update you on the rain system and tell you how people are dealing with it. an armed robbery outside an apple bees in delaware, you'll hear how police say it happened. one child is dead after a house fire in camden. crews arrived on the scene of the two-alarm fire at 12:15 a.m. on the 1200 block of morton street. the fire began in one home and spread to the other. the victim's contract has not been released, but we know four other children and two adults were taken to cooper hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. their conditions have not been released. witnesses say some of the children were tossed down to neighbors to escape the fire. the fire is not considered suspicious, crews say there were working smoke detecters inside the building. the other big story on "action news" is the weather, specifically flooding left behind from an early morning

storm. sky6 live hd taking a a live look at the commodore barry bridge. the inland did not see as much rain but flooding at the shore. we have team coverage, bob brooks is live along the jersey shore which saw the most flooding. but first, meteorologist chris sowers has the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, chris, hopefully the rain is out of here. >> reporter: what you're seeing on the camera lens is all she wrote, a couple of leftover showers. the good news the rain is gone, there's flooding at the coast. the flooding is minor even though some areas picked up over 5 inches of rain. here's the surface low, it's out racing the upper level feature which is good news because had the upper level low caught up to the surface low it would have stalled it out and lingered into sunday. because the two state separate

it moves along its way and dives off to the southeast along the coast of the virginias. delaware river western portions of camden, gloucester, burlington county, showers in palmyra, cherry hill seeing drizzle at this point, same thing with florence and bristol. once that pulls away we'll have cloudy conditions and peeks of sun. rainfall totals have been astronomical, egg harbor there s the doppler estimate, 7 1/2 inches. west cape may, 4.75 near the cape may lewis ferry departs. allentown did not see a single drop of rain with the system. a very sharp back edge as the storm hit the coast. what to expect over the next few hours, there could be a leftover

streets and stalled several cars in them wildwood things got nasty, we were able to speak to a family trying to get out of town before sun up. they were not having any luck. >> it's horrible, stay off the road. it's flooded up to the driver middle of the door. stay off the road if you can. >> reporter: the rain has stopped, but now we're seeing the results. park avenue in wildwood severely flooded. we spoke to sara fullerton trying to get to work to acme, but she stalled. >> i thought i would have a nice drive to work, the flooding was four feet past the door on my car, i tried to drive out to work, didn't happen. >> reporter: she did walk it, but this morning activity has been limited. >> no one is coming to work today, i'm kind of standing here looking for stuff to do. >> reporter: things are picking

mainland. back here at home, this morning an 8-year-old delaware county boy is being treated for traumatic injuries after his leg was run over by a csx train. chopper 6 hd flying above the scene near the clarion hotel. police say the incident happened on the westbound freight track at 6:00 p.m. the child's identity and condition has not been released. he know he was taken to children's hospital. a truck crash is blamed for spended service on the new jersey trans -- suspended service on the new jersey atlantic city line after a boom truck hit the overpass. the officers was to strong it twisted the railroad track on above. the truck driver did not realize his boom was raised when he tried to drive under the overpass. new jersey transit said the

over the next couple of hours, the other headline sunday is beautiful, low humidity levels temperatures in the low 80s. next week looks dry and comfortable until we get to wednesday and thursday, when the humidity starts to creep up there again, another heat wave is possible. but this go around, high temperatures will top out close to 90 degrees. we're not talking about 95 and 96 like the last heat wave. storm tracker 6 live we set it in motion for you, the surface low is working out to sea. this is the upper level low crossing into pennsylvania crossing over the mason dixon line pushing into the virginias. that shouldn't impact our weather here that will pull around and work out to sea off the virginia capes. shshot shows leftover showers right here, extreme western portions of camden, gloucester and burlington county. that's all she wrote.

that's probably more rain than what they saw with the entire storm system. a lot of heavy rain fell south and east of philadelphia with this thing him up in the lehigh valley and poconos they didn't see anything at all, not a single drop. there was a very fine cutoff line. winds picking up as the storm departments. 22-mile an hour in philadelphia. beach haven, 38, atlantic city, 30-mile an hour. it's driving that drier air in. look at the dewpoints, allentown, 53. poconos barely in the 50s, it's humid around the delaware bay, but all this dry air will work its way south and all the humidity air will push down to the south across the virginias and the carolinas. it should feel nice and comfortable later on. general idea today you'll see clouds early and leftover shower and peeks of sun after lunchtime in the lehigh valley and the poconos. we fast forward into sunday,

"action news," saturday at 9:00, many people in south jersey are waking up to flooding following an early modern storm. we'll have a live report from the hardest hit area. the search is on for a person who held a knife to a woman's neck and stole her purse. we'll tell you what event is shutting down the ben franklin bridge for more than an hour this weekend. those stories and more in a moment, but first we begin this half-hour with the aftermath of a storm that swept through our region earlier this morning. sky6 live hd taking this live look at cape may where the rain has stopped, but as you can see the clouds remain. >> reporter: we'll see it this afternoon, we're not seeing any flooding at this point the flooding we're seeing is very, very minor and it's confined to the jersey shore. for all entities and purposes this storm is gone. leftover showers in trenton and philadelphia and westward into wilmington and other portions of new castle county. rainfall totals impressive. there was a huge dividing line on who saw the heavy rain and who didn't. philadelphia, .3 of rain. allentown, zero. they didn't see anything at all. south jersey, this is the delaware bay. here's the state of delaware, middle town, 1.6. you cross over the delaware bay you get into cumberland county fortescue, port norris, 2.5. millville, 2.5.

video of the july 21 incident in sicklierville. the victim a 78-year-old woman was walking home along learner court. you see the suspect turns around and pulls out a hunting knife and holds it to the women's neck and grabs her bag. the victim said the man got away with $20 and credit cards. >> a driver needed to be rescued after a vehicle got stuck in a small creek in the wynnfield section. look at this car, police and fire crews had to be called out to the bala golf club, police say the driver was disoriented. the driver is being checked out at a hospital. a diesel fuel tank ruptured in somerton section overnight.

police tell "action news" 90 gallons of diesel fuel spilled on the roadway and nearby sewer drain, no injuries were reported. a police department in texas has pulled 400 cars from its fleets due to concerns of carbon monoxide leaks. accidents like this may be caused by carbon monoxide exposure. since january, 6 troopers have experienced disiness and sickness and -- dizziness and shortness of breath. ford officials are taking action. >> we're announcing we'll cover the cost of specific repairs and every police utility vehicle that may have this concern. >> reporter: more than 60 austin police officers filed complaints about possible carbon monoxide exposure on the job an three are off duty as a result of this.

the national traffic highway administration is investigating. new jersey's effort to cut down on crime could help people make extra bucks this weekend. today the state is continuing their gun-buy-back program across the state. those who sell their guns can get up to $200 per weapon right on the stop. they collected 200 guns in 4 1/2 hours. the buy back is being paid for by criminal forfeiture funds. residents can drop them off in trenton, newark and camden. there was a traffic alert for drivers who take the ben franklin bridge tomorrow. take note, because the bridge will be closed for an hour and a half beginning tomorrow morning. the bridge will shut down at 6:30 for the tour de shore

the city of philadelphia did not pick all that much, maybe .4 of an inch of rain. some locations in atlantic, cape may and cumberland counties picked up 4 inches of rain. it was a sharp cut off line, north of the city, pennsylvania turnpike,.1 of an inch of rain that's about it. delaware river stretching from trenton southwestward delaware county and new castle county that's all that's left. the upper level low is back towards pittsburgh and dropping to the south. it should not be impacting our weather here this afternoon. route 202, northern new castle county, you see yellows popping up. heavier rains reported with the shower, at least briefly. route 322, let's say you're crossing over the bridge, chester county along 322 it will be a slow go temporarily, again,

forecast before we say goodbye. >> reporter: final check of storm tracker 6 live zoomed into new castle county. we have leftover showers, in some areas it's coming down heavily indicated by the yellow west of stanton moving southwest at 30 miles per hour. most of the storm is off the coast and out to sea at this point. the only problems we'll see with flooding from this point on, is what you're seeing there, poor drainage area this is sent in by talk road in mays landing. there's the flooding there that will be gone in the next couple of hours. we're looking at a good second half of the weekend. >> comical cat garfield said i never met a lasagna i didn't like. today is national lasagna day. made of layers of wide flat pasta and meat sauces and meat and cheese.
