philly darren dalton has died after a long battle with brain cancer and learned the sad news in a few minutes and jeff skversky is live with a look back at his life and career no doubt a fan favorite. >> he was one of the toughest players and a fan favorite and fought through all of these knee injuries and led the 93 phillies to the series against the blue jays and is one of a kind and missed in the city and sad to hear about the loss of the one and only darren dalton and he was one of the most beloved athletes to ever play in the city tonight dutch lost his four year battle with stage four brain cancer and passed away in the last few hours and he was only 55 years old, here is a look back at his life and legacy as a philadelphia philly. >> to left center field, way back, this ball is a grand slam home run darren dallas on the.

>> reporter: he was a big hit on the field as he was off the field with phillies fans. dutch was beloved, a fan favorite thanks to his big bright smile and the big hits he came up with during his 14 years with the phillies. dalton will always be remembered for leading the 1993 phillies from worst to first taking them all the way to the world series where dalton eventually watched joe carter hit the walk off homer in game seven and he was a gamer playing with two bad knees for the majority of his career and 25th pick in 1980 was a warrior behind the plate no catcher in phillies history has been to the mid summer classic more, a three time all star had his best year in the early 1990s and led the national league of runs batted in 1992 and dalton combined for 51 homers and 214-rbis in 92 and 93 and the only catcher in history with back to back, rbi seasons and on

his best season ever in 1994 when his season was cut short with knee problems. >> we kind of expected it but you never know what to do or say until it happens. >> reporter: in one of the toughest trades in phillies history they sent dalton packing in a trade to the marlins in 1997 the dutch would shed tears of joy when he finally won a world series in florida in his final came and dalton retired after winning a ring and popular in philadelphia and 2010 he was inducted in the phillies hall of fame and was in for the fight of his life in 2013 when he was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer and doctors found two tumors which required surgery in 2015 dalton was in good spirits when he announced he had a clean scan. >> when the doctor walks in and opens the door we start smiling then everything is cool. but dalton was eventually hit with more bad news that cancer reoccurrence. dalton may no longer be with us

with heavy rain that could result in some serious flooding and let's get to it metrologist melissa magee is here with our first check of the accuweather forecast melissa. >> walter hard to believe we are tracking heavy rain and drenching thunderstorms after coming off a really beautiful weekend the high in philadelphia today 78 degrees right now it's still pretty comfortable 72 in the city, 65 allentown, 55 poconos and the coast and cape may in at 74 and changes throughout the overnight hours and in the day on monday this is why we issued an accuweather alert and storm tracker six live double scan radar 3d showing low pressure in arkansas and missouri this will continue to work its way eastward and set up just to the south of philadelphia so the heaviest patty pan expected tomorrow right along the storm track and just to the south. you can see the moisture already pressing in tennessee and ohio river valleys and because of that the storm prediction center placed our region in a marginal risk of finding severe weather

so that is philadelphia south jersey and northern delaware southern delaware however in a slight risk of finding scattered showers and storms the big concern with the thunderstorms will be damaging winds but there is another concern as we go throughout the day tomorrow a flash flood watch has been issued for southeast chester and bucks and philadelphia and south jersey and delaware we could find heavy rain and pockets of heavy moisture as well and scattered showers and storms on the way tomorrow heavy rain 1-2" and locally higher amounts than that the big problem is the ground is already saturated from the rain we've seen in recent days so this will be a big flooding concern as we go through the day tomorrow and closer look at an accuweather forecast walter. >> this has been a rainy summer thank you melissa and in oklahoma an overnight tornado tore through tulsa while most people were asleep last night late today the national weather service confirmed it was an ef2 tornado with winds topping 110 miles per hour. 30 people were injured including

4:00 sunday morning a officn of said he was carjacked at spring gard gardens and marquan pitts is the accused and says his son was visibly shaken and the family in shock and in awe with their son's close brush with death and six hours and 39 miles later he fills up the stolen car in south jersey and asked for payment he pulls out a stolen gun and says he is a cop another four hours later off and on spur suits of the vehicle come to an end in south philadelphia a crowded neighborhood street becomes a crime scene. >> he hit the car. >> reporter: what was running through your mind when you saw that? >> nervous and scary. >> reporter: arrested after 350 and ten hours of lawlessness. >> what is surprising is the journey the guy went on

passengers and medical professionals like dr. fang sought out the injured. >> i just jump to action and try to assistant take care of things. >> reporter: we spoke to the los angeles based ophthalmologist via face time and two attendants were the first to be treated by doctors on board. >> two flight attendants one with a dislocated shoulder and one fell and hit her head and bumped her shoulder and are the main ones and the other ones are head injuries and fallen and got knocked around and hit their head on the cabin or ceiling. >> reporter: photos show how drinks went in the air and soaked the plane during the rocky ride there were no warning and passengers smacked their heads. >> passengers had ice bags on their heads that maybe they didn't have their seat belt on so when the plane suddenly bumped they hit their head on the ceiling. >> reporter: just before landing when the flight from athens to philadelphia turned dangerous and passengers describe the

the scene shows a jeep rub can't and vehicle that hit ann broad rick the driver was moving east on race and hit the victim on 1300 block and taken to the hospital where she died a short time later police say the jeep had a white hard top and front end damage. two teenagers being questioned after shots were fired in west philadelphia this evening, witnesses say a teenager was firing a gun along 4300 block at about 6:20 and when police arrived the suspect ran into a house which developed into a barricade situation before the swat team entered the home two teenagers and four juveniles came out on their own. police say they found shell casings outside that house and are waiting for a search warrant to go in and search that home. happening tomorrow lane closers begin on roosevelt from the bucks county line to red line road and cottman avenue to ninth street and closers will run 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. monday-friday

the accuweather forecast and potential for some rough weather tomorrow. >> very heavy rain and the flash flood walter on-and-off through the day and show you what is going on sky six live and hd looking at philadelphia international it's quiet right now but this will probably be a place where you want to check if you have any weather-related travel delays because of the moisture that we are tracking tomorrow. sky six live in hd from our temple university camera looking at the center city skyline you can see it's dry, it's quiet but turning cloudy as we go throughout the rest of the overnight hours and looking at the weather headlines severe showers and storms on the way tomorrow especially by the afternoon, locally heavy rains so big concern with flooding, once this frontal boundary moves on through it's less humid as we get into tuesday and wednesday so the chance of rain in the next five days 100% chance of finding the precipitation the showers move through the overnight hours so on tuesday

early in the morning 20% chance of finding left over patty pan and dry on wednesday but thursday and friday the humidity comes back and with that we bump up the threat of the pop up showers and storms and a big concern as we get into monday. right now looking at the temperatures it's pretty comfortable after a high in philadelphia of 78, 72 in the city, 55 in the poconos, 65 reading and allentown and cape may 74 and 71 degrees in dover. satellite six with action radar the clouds are starting to build and thicken the leading edge of precipitation coming out of ohio valley and a lot of the moisture starting to fall apart and widen the picture and tracking the area of low pressure over arkansas and also missouri you can see the moisture pressing in tennessee and southern ohio river valleys and works eastward and wherever that low sets up you are more than likely going to find the heaviest of precipitation along the boundary and just to the south of the storm track so over the next 12

hours turning cloudy the rain arrives during overnight and close to dawn and drop to 64 in the suburbs and 69 degrees in philadelphia for the overnight low. we will time out patty pan for you and future tracker six showing 7:00 in the morning we have that rain for the poconos and certainly allow for moisture to creep into the i-95 corridor umbrellas will be needed by lunchtime tomorrow. look at the pockets of heavy rain at noon for the poconos allentown and into philadelphia also into south jersey it continues on-and-off and you notice the heaviest setting up in the city down in south jersey and also into delaware that is where the storm prediction center in the risk of finding severe weather the showers do not let up until late tomorrow night during the overnight hours and early tuesday we have clearing on the way. looking at the assessment and we assess the risk tomorrow lightning a hey side for that high concern of finding heavy downpours and the ground is saturated from the rain we have seen in the past several days
