in the news dramatic video from a police-involved shooting that sent bullets flying into a local home. we have new images of the man allegedly behind a jewel heist in cherry hill. police have converged on a neighborhood here in plymouth meeting. a s.w.a.t. team arrived on the 300 block of cambridge road this morning at about 8:30 within the last 30 minutes, two men emerged from a home walking backwards with their hands up. police took both men into custody at the scene. we are working to find out why they are arrested. other residents have been told to stay indoors as a precaution. no injuries have been reported throughout this hours long incident. more developing news out of chester county where a man is under arrest accused of killing his neighbor. police were combing the scene for evidence this morning after a man was shot to death outside his home. the gunfire rang out in west goshen along the 300 block of box elder drive. "action news" reporter john rawlins is following the investigation, he joins us

live from the district court in west goshen. john. >> reporter: hi, rick. we're waiting for the suspect to be arraigned here at district court. not far from here on a quiet suburban street, a family is mourning the victim well regarded by neighbors we spoke with. the suspect in this case another neighbor. police called to the 300 block of box elder in west goshen township about 1:00 a.m. according to neighbors and a family member brooks jennings was shot and killed during an altercation with a neighbor. police have that man in custody. we are withholding his name since he has not been formally charged at this point. neighbors describe the man who is in custody as argumentative saying police have been called to his residence in the past. on hearing of a shooting this morning, this former neighbor came to the scene fearing that the suspect had been involved in harming someone. >> my heart sunk to my feet. >> reporter: because? >> because i knew something had happened.

i had seen that there was a shooting on box elder and my heart just sunk to my feet. i knew all the way over here -- i just suspected what i would find. >> reporter: that he would be in the middle of it. >> in the middle of it yeah. >> reporter: but you weren't sure of the victim. >> yeah. >> reporter: she first feared the target might have been someone from the suspect's family. she did not know mr. jennings who is the victim but says her heart goes out to his family. live in west goshen john rawlins channel6 "action news." >> the moment gunfire erupted during a police involved shooting in north philadelphia. officers ran for cover after a man identified as 30-year-old josé gonzalez allegedly fired two rounds at police along the 2200 block of north fairhill street. police returned fire striking gonzalez at least twice. he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and will face charges once he recovers according to authorities. some of the bullets from the shootout went flying into a nearby home but fortunately no

residents were hurt. "action news" reporter vernon odom will have more details coming up in our next half hour. homicide detectives are on the scene of an arson investigation in kensington after a 28-year-old man was found dead inside of a burning row home. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at police headquarters with the very latest. katherine. >> reporter: rick, that's right, the body was found after the flames were put out. the exact circumstances here remain under investigation but we do know that the fire marshal's office is investigating this as a possible arson and the homicide unit is looking into this case as well. in the daylight you could see the broken windows the shell of the two story end row home in kensington, debris piled on the sidewalk on the 1800 block of east clementine street. authorities initially came for a fire here. they found a body. the crime scene unit searched the property with flashlights. a k-9 unit accompanied investigators from atf.

l and i examined the building. shortly before 11:00 24th strict officers were flagged down. fire crews were met with heavy flames on the first floor of the two story home. firefighters discovered the body of a 28-year-old man on the second floor. fire officials say another person had escaped the flames by jumping from the second floor. that civilian and one firefighter were taken to the hospital in stable condition. >> we have one of our own members transported for heat-related injuries and he is also stable and being evaluated. >> reporter: neighbors say the building is vacant and is often used by squatters. still as the investigation was going on, authorities went door to door to raise awareness about fire prevention. >> our fire prevention division is on in the area givig out fire prevention literature. >> reporter: police say the family of that 28-year-old man who died has not been notified

so his name has not been released. we're live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. rick. >> a criminal on the run in south jersey after he robbed a jared jewelry store in cherry hill. authorities just released photos of the suspect. he allegedly walked into the store on haddonfield road yesterday afternoon just after 4 o'clock. he left about 20 minutes later with the stolen goods and fled in a gray suv. anyone who recognizes the man should contact the camden county prosecutor's office right away. delaware state police are investigating a crash that tied up traffic for hours. a 28-year-old man from baltimore maryland was cited for inattentive driving after his truck hit a metal guardrail and overturned. happened on the ramp from i-95 south to route 896 in newark, delaware this morning just after 6:30. police had to close the ramp until the truck could be towed away. time to talk temperatures. accuweather tracking brighter skies after yesterday's heavy rain. as we look live outside from

of one another in a parking lot along route 13. only one minor injury was reported. yesterday's rain also created another huge moat that is blocking access to some of the beaches in margate. residents blame a controversial dunes project that's created all kinds of problems this summer. the standing water is loaded with bacteria. last week a judge ordered a temporary halt to the dunes project until the state can come up with a better plan. both sides will be back in court this week. some children heading back to school in pennsylvania will need extra vaccines under new state requirements. philadelphia district officials are reminding local parents about the changes. students entering 12th grade will need an additional dose of the m c.v. vaccine for meningitis. all students will need a fourth dose of the polio vaccine including one at or after age four. children will have five days from the start of the school year to prove that they've received the proper immunizations. and still to come on "action news" at noon, police are looking for the man who

>> manhunt for a suspected rapist who escaped police custody is now over. police found 32-year-old brandon powell dead in a crawlspace inside his parents' home last night. about 70 miles outside of toledo ohio. police had been looking for the 32-year-old ever since he broken out of prison transport van on friday when he overpowered a ohio sheriff's deputy and stole the deputy's gun. powell shot himself last night while officers were trying to convince him to surrender. authorities are searching for a man who pushed a woman in front of an oncoming bus. police in the uk released video of the incident on the pit knee bridge in southwest london. the suspect is running along the bridge back in may and that's when he shoves a woman into a bus lane right there. fortunately the bus driver swerved to avoid hitting her and she walked away with minor injuries. police are hoping someone will recognize her attacker from this newly released video.

people in houston texas are being told by that officials to stay home until flood waters across the city a begin to recede this after torrential rains put communities there under water. nearly half a foot of rain has fallen across the houston areas. fire officials had to rescue more than two dozen people who were stranded by high or rushing water. flash flood warnings are still in effect. a weakened tropical storm franklin chugged across mexico's yucatan peninsula this morning dumping heavy rain after coming ashore. shelters were prepared across the area with one specifically designated for residents of a popular beach destination. three to 6 inches of rain were forecast across the yucatan with localized amounts of up to 12-inches. a group of hackers released a new batch of stolen files from hbo including scripts from the popular "game of thrones" series.

the cyber criminals claim they have access to unaired episodes and entire tv series and they're threatening to upload them to the internet if the network doesn't pay them a multi-million dollar ransom. the thieves also stole the company's financial information. a representative for hbo says an internal investigation is ongoing. well, tonight is the next chance for lottery players to strike it rich. $346 million is up for grabs in tonight's drawing of the mega millions. it is the seventh largest prize in the game's history and if you don't score the right numbers tonight, there's always tomorrow night's big powerball drawing. that jackpot is currently worth $307 million. good luck.
