what happened there? >> reporter: jim, it's still an active scene here. we spoke to a family that lives next door to the suspect and she and her family were coming home when they saw police trying to serve a warrant, she had no idea that would escalate so violently. >> they knocked on the door my neighbor opened up the door and threw some kind of fluid or something and fire came up and they had to put the fire out on the police officer, he was on fire and they were rolling him around and stomping him in the street. next thing you know they start to pull and draw their weapons. >> these are again chopper pi pickures from moments ago. the deputy was serving a warrant when an unknown item was thrown at him. it was a molotov cocktail

causing second degree burns to the officer's leg. he has non-life-threatening burns. second degree burns. they are told to go into their homes and off the street but the suspect is in custody and the officer is taken to the hospital where second degree burns to his upper leg and foot. channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. chopper 6 hd over a fire scene on the 200 block of west gay street in westchester where a blaze broke out two hours ago, a total of a dozen firefighters were hurt. five of whom were rushed to the hospital. tonight lets go live to the scene and "action news" reporter annie mccormick. >> that is right five of those

firefight firefighters were taken to the hospital. i want to go back to the chopper 6 hd video showing you an aerial view of this fire. we are told that the firefighters responded at the 200 block of west gray street. the fire is underground, near the justice complex and an anybody of downtown businesses and restaurants, we don't know the source of the fire but it could be from cables underground and we don't know if the fire is under control. he are waiting to hear the conditions of the firefighters, five of them taken to the hospital and 10 of them treated at the scene and we believe that their injuries are non-life-threatening. this is the intersection of north gay street. we are about to get an update from the public information officer right now, this block

situation next at 6:30 after "action news." the fight over the controversial dune projects in margate was back before a federal judge in camden county. margate is trying to stop the army corps of engineers from restarting the dune work. they showed where the new dunes were constructed unexpected ponds were formed and the feds argued it's a temporary condition and once it is complete the water table should drop. the judge has yet to make a decision. drilling continues on a natural gas pipeline through pennsylvania. residents reached a settlement with sunoco after filing a lawsuit in may. they argued that the 350 mile long mariner two east pipeline was too close to their homes, sunoco will evaluate 47 high risk sites and offer water tests for wells near drilling areas.

the $2.5 billion pipeline carries, propane and butane and ethanol. sean mccullough came to them. surveillance video shows the scene at 3:45 this morning. the 44-year-old resident of havertown hopped the curb to go around the security gate at the police station, he told the officers he consumed 14 beers and was looking for someplace safe. mccullough was charged with dui and careless driving. and here is an update to a story we brought you last night at 11:00. the atlantic city prosecutors office now says that the man found dead inside of a hotel room inside of a tropicana resort committed suicide and a second person, a woman was injured during a suicide

philadelphia and bensalem police are scouring a wooded area behind the neshaminy inter plex for one person with a gun. it happened at 5:30 near the intersection of route 1 near old lincoln highway. details are sketchy as to what started the investigation but the investigation is underway. police, it's hard to see them with the tree cover, police have a heavy presence on site and shots were fired and nobody is injured. the search going on. we wanted to touch base with a courageous young lady. her name is sienna ward whose

passion is dancing she lost both of her legs after being hit by a train in philadelphia in june. but she is fighting to come back. "action news" reporter gray hall has her story. >> hope people treat me like me, how they treated me before. not like feeling sorry for me. >> 12-year-old sienna ward is through what no young girl should have to endure and a story nobody should have to tell. she was walking along the tracks in southwest philadelphia along grays avenue when she somehow lost her balance and got caught under the train. dragged 500 feet and sadly lost both of her legs. >> felt like just different. but it's life so -- i'll work with it. >> sienna doesn't remember much about that day. she will not give up, she is a
