protesters. two troopers on a helicopter died when it crashed. >> reporter: overnight, the charlottesville community holding a vigil for healing after a night of chaos in the streets. a car plowing through a crowd of counter protesters killing a 32-year-old woman sending 19 to the hospital. >> hit two or three other cars. smashed into people. >> reporter: the driver identified as a 20-year-old white male from ohio. it capped off a weekend of hatred and vial animals, the violence escalating saturday as the white supremacist and counter protesters clashed. two virginia state police officers, collin and baits died in a helicopter crash as they assisted public safety.

president trump denounced the violence, but not the white supremacists specifically. >> we condemn in the strongest possible terms this display of hatred and bigotry and violence on many sides. the govern of the state of virginia had a message. >> i have a message for the white supremacist and the nazi who came here, go home. >> reporter: the man arrested, james alex fields has a bond hearing set for monday. her mother thawt -- thought her son was going to a rally for president trump. >> president trump was criticized for denouncing the events, but not the white nationalists who held the march. a white house spokesperson offered a classification, saying the president denounces the kkk and neo-nazis and other. this morning president's daughter tweeted said there should be no place in society

for racism and white supremacists and nazis. anthony scaramucci said the charlotteville statement of his former boss was a mistake. he was taking part in his first interview since getting fired. he told george stephanopoulos he would not have recommended that the president say what he said about the violence. >> i think he needed to be harsher as it related to the white supremacists and the nature of that, i applaud general mcmaster calling it what it is, domestic terrorism. >> he said he does not have many around him except for eadvantage can -- iivanka and jd

kushner that would tell him that. >> people in our area gathered on town square for a candle light vigil. it was a similar scene in doylestown where 60 people gathered. in philadelphia, philly rise protest the the white nationalists in charlottesville. mayor kenny tweeted i do not support white nationalists. >> two menned up changing -- police schaikdz fire -- exchanged fire with two suspects and two men were hit by police. >> reporter: three men were shot, but the good news none of

the officers involved were injured. as you're about to see that could have happened. it was a chaotic night in chester. police say it started at 2:00 a.m. at the gold room bar on edgemont avenue. detectives say officers were monitoring things outside the bar as people were leaving. one man was shot outside the bar, next detectives say two men got in the durango and started firing at police. officers rushed fire and the suspects in the durango would take off. there was a chase, the suspects crashed into a tree 6 blocks away. when officer approached the suv they found both men inside had been shot multiple times. the two suspects in the durango and the shooting victim back at the club were taken to the hospital. a woman would suffer neck wounds during the shootout, but she'll be okay. >> police are not naming the three men who were involved in the shooting. reporting live in chester, bob

brooks channel 6 "action news." >> thanks for the update. developing this noon, u.s. central command said two american soldiers have been killed in iraq, but not revealing details how they died. they said the soldiers were conducting combat operations and not die as a result of enemy contact. thousands of u.s. troops are providing support to the iraqi troops in the fight against isis. now to the nuclear crisis involving north korea, french president macron spoke to president trump yesterday urging him to find a peaceful solution. yesterday pyongyang warned president trump if the u.s. doesn't want to meet it's tragic doom it better talk and act properly. >> reporter: a man fell into a sinkhole in the strawberry mansion section. he will be okay. he stepped off the curb and dropped into the 10-foot sinkhole on the 3100 block of

west knor street. they took him to temple university hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the water department had patched up another hole nearby. in strawberry mansion a corner store went up in flames. firefighters found flames shooting from a building at north 25th and dauphin street at 1:25 a.m. heavy smoke damaged the apartments above the store. the philadelphia fire marshal's office is investigating. >> the dream of become be -- becoming an instant millionaire continues. nobody won the drawing last night. there were five tickets that matched five numbers, 20, 24, 26, 35, 49, and the powerball 19. you can see wednesday's numbers on "action news" at 11:00 p.m. after accuweather. >> there's much more to come on

demonstrators had tape over their mouths in protest of president trump. after the election, trump said he did disavow white supremacists. the mayor of charlottes ville said he will ask the lexington fayette urban county counsel to get permission to take down the statutes of john hunt morgan and john c. breakfasten ridge. this morning british prime minister teresa may tweeted her condolences. the uk stands with the u.s. against hatred and violence. police were called after a fight outside the gold room bar on edgemont avenue that ended in a shooting. the suspects fired at officers after they arrived, and then led

police on a chase that ended in the crash. police discovered both suspects were shot, a total of four people were injured in the violence. a third man was shot and a woman had minor injuries at the first scene. philadelphia detectives are trying to find out who shot a man overnight and left him lying on north philadelphia street. this happened in the 2400 block of north 20th street. neighbors called police before 2:00 a.m. after hearing the gunshots. they found the 52-year-old victim with gun shot injuries to the back and three and taken to the hospital -- back and thigh and taken to the hospital in critical condition. an accused shoplifter is dead after drowning trying to make his getaway. he stole items from the wawa. when police arrived he jumped into the lake. he refused commands to get out of the water and swam underneath the evergreen avenue bridge. state police divers found him

dead 6 hours later. opponents of the margate dune project has a rally plan for this afternoon on the beach at jerome avenue. the army corps of engineers has been adding sand to the area where storm water collected. residents say it's a bacteria laden health hazard. many property owners in trenton, new jersey are not putting up with a citywide assessment that will cause property taxes to skyrocket. >> it's unfair, it's extortion. >> reporter: that's the manager of cars on parker avenue in trenton where after a recent revaluation, the auto junkyard had their property taxes raised $100,000. they want us to move. >> >> reporter: local businesses are in an uproar. the state ordered the revaluation as a way to get

"action news," 20-year-old james alex fields has been charged with second degree murder and other counts for running down a 32-year-old woman and injuring 20 other people who were protesting a white nationalist rally in charlottesville. local state and federal investigations are underway. a fight outside a bar in chester led to a police involved shooting and three people were wounded. one man was shot by two men in front of the gold room bar. those two suspects fired at police, they were wounded and taken to the hospital. about an hour from now, those opposed to the margate dune project will be on the beach of jerome avenue demanding an end to the project. residents say the water is a bacteria-laden health hazard. >> i wanted to share my latest murphy photo.
