charlesville, virginia. abc news is tracking reaction to statements coming in by the minute and we'll have more from washington coming in at 5:30. it is tuesday night and monica is off and sharrie williams is joining us and we are following the attempt for an attempted arsonist that targeted vehicles in a municipal parking garage. >> workers in woodland avenue smelled gas coming from the underground garage, they found several vehicles surrounded by fuel. and nouveau that police want you to take a close look at and a reward for anyone that helps out. christie aleto is live in west philadelphia with the details. >> reporter: well, police say that the garage at the time was having issues locking that is why they believe the man was getting in. surveillance video is showing that the man entered at least six times within one hour, the real question that remains is

why. >> we are asking the public to look at the clothing worn, and the pants he is wearing and the faded nature down by his calfs and as he leaves the parking garage as he returned and his gate and how he walks, his face cloaked in a white bed sheet, they caught the arsonist in the garage, surrounded by the fire and city streets department. seconds later he exits coming down the road and then coming back pushing a baby stroller and the white bed sheet a cape around his body. >> he is seen a total of six times entering the facility and dousing vehicles with flammable liquid and a t-shirt and pair of shoes were discovered on site. >> he leaves his shirt behind and used it to ignite. >> for some coward to go out there and try to take the lives

of our firefighters and police officers, we need to get that individual off the street. we need to get that individual off the street now. >> reporter: now, police believe this man lives in the area is known to his neighbors and if you recognize this individual. his clothing or manrisms in that video you are asked to call authorities. christie aleto, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. police in allentown are looking for multiple suspects after a man was shot and killed in front of his young daughter, according to officials, four armed intruders burst into an apartment on lyndon street. demanding money from jermaine taylor and then gunning him down. he left blood behind at the scene and police are still looking for three others tonight. the city of philadelphia and the union for the city's police officers have reach aid three

year contract agreement. under that deal the city will get increased pension contributions, police operations will be tweaked to control overtime costs and three officers will live in the city for the first five years of employment and get raises for the next three years and keep their defined benefit plan, a plan that the city is angling to change. >> an atlantic city motel is shut down after an early morning law enforcement raid. officials moved into the bay view inn and suits, forcing out 20 to 40 people. it's unclear why the motel was raided but we know some bizarre things police found a couple of dogs and a 2 to 3 fetal gator found in the pool. that is being sento the cape may county zoo. turning now to accuweather. a damp day around the delaware valley. stepping live now outside. sky 6 hd giving us the view of

katherine scott has the story from center city. >> duncan round left court intenter city. his south philadelphia day care remains closed after being charged with sexually assaulting two 5-year-old children and his attorney maintains his innocence. >> i can't disclose as far as our investigation, that is confidentiality and privilege but he passed a polygraph last wednesday. >> round owned sprout day care for about a decade many one boy and one girl were assaulted multiple times inside of the day care, officers say the incidents were reported on july 25th by a third party. round is out on bail and a british citizen and surrendered his passport. >> right now he is trying to be there for his family, that is who he is worried about now, and his family is extremely supportive along with the community.

investigators in nebraska are trying to figure out what sparked an explosion that destroyed a home. two people were seriously hurt and 40 homes were damaged. debris was blown as far as 200 feet from the blast site. firefighters believe that even more people could have been hurt but thankfully nobody was outside or walking by at that time. >> a new jersey congressman has introduced legislation to help korean war veterans suffering from agent orange. tom mcarthur stopped by and veterans that served between april 1, 1968 and august 3rd,

tomorrow. bet your bottom dollar. i'm not singing it. lets head over to the "action news" weather center and show you we are live sky 6 hd taking a live look at city hall and you notice haze out there and moisture in the air and you can pretty much see it and the flags barely moving at all. the winds stay light tonight, patchy dense fog developing due to the facts that we have so much moisture and rain today. double scan live radar showing nothing more than a few scattered showers around philadelphia and wilmington but heavy downpours near cumberland county. we can zoom in millville you are getting in on the action. riding along route 49 right now. no thunder or lightning but heavy downpours are continuing to push to the east and it's now leaving delaware and working over the delaware bay.

and we are drying out quickly in the overnight hours, temperatures today thanks to the clouds and rain, definitely on the cool side and the humidity was up. not the heat but humidity. philadelphia 77 now and allentown and reading 75 and cape may 76 and wilmington also 76. satellite and radar showing this plume of moisture today. again the heaviest is still pushing to the east and if you look to the west of pennsylvania you notice the clearing line that moves in the, in the overnight hour. overnight it could cause problems in areas for the morning commute. 64 in the suburbs and 74 for center city. future tracker 6 showing at 8:00 lingering shower activity along the coast and tomorrow morning you wake up and clouds south and east of philadelphia and temperatures in the 70s by the afternoon. lots of sunshine, could get an isolate the shower along the

your mobile device. a firefighter and two residents were injured in a north philadelphia apartment complex. they are trying to figure out what sparked the fire that forced residented out of their homes. >> i heard a screeching noise, that was the alarm and came out side and saw flames coming outs of of my neighbor's g 5 apartment. >> it was 12:30 in the morning when the fire alarms when off at the canterbury apartments. this video shows what firefighters were met with upon arrival. >> dead sleep and fire alarm and woke up and building was on fire. everyone was outside and we went back in and grabbed the animals. >> firefighters fought the blaze that took an here to get under control. many waited on this septa bus as the red cross assisted on

check cashing store. the suspect broke in and tried to use a crowbar. eventually the thief gave up on the atm and broke into the main office and took nearly 300 there's and took off. a driver narrowly escaped a crash in south jersey. a "action news" viewer captured the scene on their cell phone at 6:00 this morning in the westbound lanes of the atlantic city expressway. the driver left the roadway and crashed into the guardrail and caught fire. no one was hurt here. look at this messy scene in delaware county. a water main break causing traffic troubles in boothwin it happened along conchester highway and bethel highway. a main burst and thousands of gallons of water shot straight into the the sky. a section of bethel avenue was

northbound side really still trying to recuperate from the earlier accidents we had and you see 6 miles per hour and 9 miles per hour on the vine street expressway and 8 on the schuylkill expressway, very crowded and we'll show you the backups now and here is the vine street expressway take a look this is your westbound traffic, extremely heavy i would say length to length traveling on the westbound side. it's definitely slow. this is your eastbound traffic and beyond the vine and westbound side. all the cars here trying to make their way on the vine and we see big delays and traveling on the schuylkill eastbound it's 37 minutes now between the blue route and vine and westbound 30, definitely more time needed out therement particularly on the roosevelt boulevard traveling over the twin bridges slow from 76 to 95. and look at the waiting line on the southbound side.
