investigators are on the scene in delaware county after a person was found dead in newtown square and septa takes action to keep people safe. the way to report crimes during your commute. and the big story is the the rising racial tension sweeping the nation after the weekend of violence in virginia. the demonstration was the flash point in charlottesville. and now pressure to take monuments down and it's hitting home after someone is demanding the removal of a polarizing statue here in philadelphia. jeanette reyes is here with more on that. >> reporter: well rick, aside from donald trump's comments yesterday setting off a firestorm. it's igniting an ongoing debate in philadelphia. should the frank rizzo statue here be taken down. hours ago the man walked up and pelted the statue with eggs showing of course where he stands on this issue.

>> after apparently being vandalized tuesday night. this afternoon in broad daylight. a man stood outside of the newly placed barricades and pelted the frank rizzo statue with eggs. police chased after him and he was quickly arrested. there are a variety of ways people are showing out rain over monuments. in baltimore four confederate monuments were quietly removed by the city's mayor. and the former mayor, frank rizzo that some say used tactics that targeted african-americans. >> we are not saying it necessarily has to stay here. but we believe it's a historic symbol in philadelphia. >> one of many philadelphians weighing in after councilwoman helen gwynn treated this out. all across the country we are fighting to remove monuments.

about and we'll talk more about that in a second. temperatures chime to 83 degrees and dew points 67 and that is a fall from earlier this morning. and likely we get a lower dew point later on. and ocean temperature 5-degrees but not a great day to be in the water. 79 currently in reading and 83 if philadelphia. and similar numbers in wilmington, trenton and warmner millville and down the shore just 78 degrees in cape may. we'll probably stop in the low 80s down at the beach. now that the fog is gone we are dealing with scattered cloud cover and expecting sun himming with patchy clouds the rest of the day today. that is what we go for in the lehigh valley and warm and not so humid and a mix of sun and clouds overall. philadelphia 88 is your high and sun and clouds and humidity dropping a bit as with we go through the afternoon and evening. winds are light today and of course hurricane gert is out

there splitting the difference from bermuda to the east coast of the united states. winds at 90 miles per hour. and question if this becomes a category two, and then drops back to a category one, and that would be briefly tonight. it's not going anywhere near land but close enough to our coast it sends the swell over the ocean, and smack into the beaches and gives us problems. nice day on the beach, sun and clouds and warm and highs in the low 80s but up and down the delaware and jersey coastline we have a high risk of rip concerns. it's care that we post a high risk. it's dangerous for any swimmer, if you are down the shore today or tomorrow too, check with your lifeguard before you go near the water and they will let you know whether or not you can go in a little bit or stay out completely. and dangerous for all swimmers because of the heavy surf and back and neck injuries are a

problem with surf conditions like this. not just getting pulled out but getting tossed around in the waves. 69 is the overnight low and a few clouds around tonight and could be fog in the early hours, not as bad as this morning where visibilities when don't to a .10 mile in spots. we'll be on early tomorrow morning checking out road conditions and seeing if the fog is still an issue. and 88 is today's high and far more humid the more south you go down unsticky at the coast and moderate in philadelphia. thursday 86 degrees and humid later in the day and at night there could be a pop-up thunderstorm. and friday keep your eyes on that day, it looks like a better chance of thunderstorms and showers and could see isolated downpours and maybe strong storms on friday. then on saturday, a pop-up thunderstorm and humidity is still noticeable. and sunday the humidity drops and a nice afternoon and high of
