"action news" delaware valley's leading news program. with rick williams, sara bloomquist, and meteorologist, david murphy. good afternoon we begin with breaking news out of barcelona, spain, you may have heard on abc news a moment ago. police say that a white van jumped a quiet sidewalk there. they are reported on twitter that there are several people injured in this busy popular tourist area, photos appear to show several people on the ground after a van plowed into a crowd of people. police have cordoned off the street and shut down areas and sth stores and restaurants in that area. people on the ground are assisted by officials.

this is a live look now at barcelona. crews have set up perimeters there. once again a white van plowing into the crowd of people in the popular tourist area of barcelona, spain. back here at home the man accused of murdering a 18-year-old girl in chester county. 28-year-old david desper remains jailed for the death of bianca rober son. katherine scott is outside of the courthouse. >> reporter: there were dozens of family and friends of bianca roberson. david desper waived his preliminary hearing. >> we have to wait for the court date. rodney rober andson left the

room after the man accused of muddering his 18-year-old daughter, bianca waived his preliminary hearing. witnesses and evidence can be introduced to see if there is enough evidence to go to trial. >> i don't care why he did it. there was no reason to murder my daughter. >> david desper remains in custody and was taken back to chester county jail. back in july desper of trainer was charge ready related charges for the murder of bianca roberson. she was to head to jacksonville university this month. she had just left the mall after shopping for college clothes with her mother. investigators say that bianca and desper were jockeying for

position to merge into a lane. he pulled out a gun and shot her in the head. he fled and she veered off the road and crashed. this morning bianca's family and friends flooded the courthouse. >> another week she was on her way to college and we were all looking forward to that. >> this was desper's last appear arns at the courthouse and after this the case will be handled by the court of common pleas. the search is on for the suspects th s thas that stabbed in berks county which may be a case of road rage. crews were called to northeast reading at 9:30, a 42-year-old man stopped for a car double parked in the road and the man honked in the car to move on they approached the victim and one stabbed him. the victim's son was in the suv at the time and the double parked car fled the scene and the victim's injuries were not life-threatening. coming up later on "action news" at 12:30, john rawlins has the

latest on the search for the suspects in this case. president trump says taking down confederate statues is a mistake. in a series of tweets this morning, the president said, quote sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. you can't change history but learn from it. robert e. lee, and stone wall jackson, who is next? george washington? he said over the weekend that both sides were to blame for the violence in virginia. heather heyer was bowed down and killed. ♪ this little light of mine i'm going to let it shine ♪ overnight nearly a thousand people marched peacefully during a candle light vigil in

up with no violence and no arrests reported. in montgomery county a father and son from glen side are accused of possessing and distributing explicit child pornography. they traced it online to harry enis and patrick enis. they found 600 sexually explicit video files on harry enis's collect tronnic's devices. and patrick enis was released on bail and harry enis that faces charges remains jailed at this time. an overturned tractor trailer on the new jersey turnpi turnpike just south of interchange 3 in depford township. the extent of his or her injuries are not known at this

time. right now traffic is getting by on one northbound lanes. it's a great day to take your lunch outside on this thursday. sky 6 hd taking a live look at the ben franklin bridge and parts of penn's landing and i-95 at lunch time and the sun is shining and not overly humid and a great day for football as well. david murphy has the first check of your forecast. >> reporter: football coming up tonight at lincoln financial field, and we have cloud cover around and a couple of pop-up cumulous clouds and some moisture in the atmosphere in the eastern shore of maryland and southern delaware, a little more shower in southern virginia. there is a chance that areas south and west of philadelphia pick up a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon. but most of us are enjoying a nice summer afternoon. 82 in wilmington and 80 in allentown un81 in cape may. and humidity has dropped off a bit across most of the region.

87 by 4:00 and a high of 88 at 3:00 this afternoon and see how we are back down into the upper 70s through the 8:00 to 10:00 period. it may start to get more humid as we get later into the evening than is something you want to keep in mind if you head to the eagles game. looks like 81 degrees in the first quarter and 77 in the fourth quarter and warm and perhaps more muggy but we are expecting dry conditions as most of our shower activity later today will be done in time for the game and most of it suppressed to the west of philadelphia. we look at the issue at the shore and better than yesterday. a moderate risk of rip currents heading down to the beach in delaware and new jersey swim near the lifeguards there could be rough surf be a moderate chance of rip currents. >> tomorrow an issue the possibility of downpour producing showers and thunderstorms. i'll have details and the weekend call coming up. >> thank you.

of occasional showers. tomorrow is when you do not -- whatever -- stormtracker 6 live double scan right now we have got no precipitation out there locally. there has been a sprinkle and shower in southern delaware not a lot of that right now but you see a little bit of that down there in dover. we have sky 6 hd there is the airport and bright sunshine with a few clouds here and there. as of 6:00, 7:00 a.m. the humidity starts to drop and feeling comfortable out there overall. 84 is your current temperature. the dew point is down to 64. and anything over 60 is where we start to talk it feels a little humid but 64 is not bad overall. winds light at 7 and the ocean temperature up to 78. still a bit of an issue in the surf though. we'll talk about that in a moment. 84 currently in the city and 82 in wilmington and 80 on the nose in allentown and 81 in cape may down by the ocean water and dew points behaving themselves well from allentown to the poconos to philadelphia.

as you head south through the region it gets a little stickier as indicated by the higher end numbers impressive by cape may and dover. and the southern area humid not so much in the i-95 corridor. it looks like most of this is suppressed in philadelphia. future tracker 6 showing a couple of showers out to the west in places like delaware. we are talking about reading and lancaster getting this and the model showing this nowment a couple of light sprinkles in the city and the bulk of to the north and west and evening we are dry northern and south and east and west. humid side today and 86 is your warm high and down the shore here is the issue, nice on the beach and nice temperature-wise on the water. like yesterday we have an issue with rip currents, a moderate risk versus yesterday's risk are and there could be water rescues

today and swim near the lifeguards, in rehoboth warmer in bethany beach and philadelphia 88 is the high and sun and clouds and somewhat humid and from the -- the winds are 8 miles per hour. and a spotty thunderstorm and 73 is the overnight low and most of tonight's thunderstorm acts is overnight into the morning. that brings us to tomorrow morning and future tracker 6. at 6:30 on the air here we may have showers and maybe on odd thunderstorm to show you, by the time we get to 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, it looks like clouds and sunny breaks, as the front gets closer taos there say chance of 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 a line of broken showers and thunderstorms coming through and could be gusty winds and drenching downpours and wraps up at midnight tomorrow night. 88 is today's high and not terribly humid away from the coast and partly sunny and warm

we are following breaking news of a suspect terrorist attack in barcelona, spain. police say that someone used a van to flowinto eye crowd of people and now they are hold up with hostages in a nearby restaurant. abc news confirm that victims have died and several others are injured. pictures and video from the popular tourist area shows victims strewn along the sidewalk. there are reports that two people ran from the van and those suspected terrorists have taken hostages inside of a turkish restaurant and negotiations are underway with police, and people are told to shelter in place. the street is wide mostly used by pedestrians but cars are able
