i looked up and saw the white van knocking people over. >> it was a frightening series of seconds that gave way to hours of white knuckle tension. tonight spain is still on edge as police work to help those victims of a terrorist attack. i'm brian taff. the big story on "action news" is breaking now. today's attack appears to be part of a larger terrorist plot. troopers shot and killed five terrorist suspects during a second incident in came rynn.

>> a white van mowed down pedestrians at random. there was a ghastly and horrific scene. 13 people killed, 100 injured in what authorities quickly labeled a terrorist attack. a short time later isis took responsibility. mike pence addressed that group directly today. >> whoever is responsible should know that the united states of america should find and punish those responsible and drive islamic terror from the face of the earth. >> two people were arrested in the attack today. but neither were the driver police say, that person still at

street. the suspect entered the boy's home but took off after the encounter. >> the male bus bleeding from the arm, possibly from being bit by the ten-year-old bow protecting his mother and home. a handgun was found near the lot. the victim from the shooting scene is in the hospital and in stable condition. >> eagle fans are unsure how to people about the bird's first preseason game. we have mixed results. a good ending. >> brian, success in the preseason is not flashed in wins and losses, you have to pass the i test.

looking at the come dare dairy bridge, you can see we are getting rid of all of this in time for monday, the solar eclipse. it's 38 years since we had a total solar eclipse in the u.s. i want to bring part of the solar system into the "action news" studio to explain it. a solar eclipse is when the sun, moon and earth is in total alignment. the moon casts two shadows on earth. one of the shadows comes to a point as it heads to earth. that's the point of totality. it's narrow, 70-miles wide from the west coast to east coast on monday. the second shadow gets wider as it heads to earth. this is where we get the partial solar eclipse from canada to
