live taking a look at center city at this hour. accuweather is track success strong storms that could turn severe later today. right now rain clouds are moving in and flooding is a concern. with a flood watch taking effect in parts of our area. good afternoon sara bloomquist is off. the big story on "action news" is an accuweather alert. let get over to melissa magee in the weather center for a first check of the friday forecast. >> yes, we are tracking the showers and storms moving through later today. no picture outside. sky 6 hd as we give you another look at the center city skyline. pretty dreary and we have a lot of humidity in the atmosphere as well. we are look agent stormtracker 6 live double scan radar, we'll pop it out and get a closer look. going in a little tighter, dry in most locations but there in south jersey we are tracking a little bit of activity in areas of southern ocean county, you see the moisture moving out to

the east in surf city and also to the north and south of lacey. these are heading out along the atlantic as we go through the rest of today. and more storms will fire up through the day this afternoon. philadelphia 81. 81 in allentown and the coast in cape may 85 and beach haven 80 degrees but the humidity today is stifling and dew point numbers in the middle to upper 70s. nip time you have this much moisture it won't take much time to ring out storms. satellite 6 along with action radar showing you this is tracking eastward through today. and because of that the storm prediction center is putting us in the slight risk of severe showers and storms. downpours and damaging winds and the flood watch until 2:00 today. we have more coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> this reminder, with rain in the forecast get weather updates

the kkk and white supremacists and president trump is taking heat for taking to twitter about the loss of confederate statues. and one was the statue of roger tawney, that stood outside of the annapolis state house. and a statue of frank rizzo is vandalized twice in one week and black power was spray painted on to the statue. jeanette reyes has more. >> at one time a dozen officers and barricades surrounded the statue outside of city hall and now it's vandalized again. after the paint ball stain was removed and the egg residue was removed. another act of vandalism harder

to wipe off. just past 11 wednesday night a man drove up and spray painted black power across the front of the rizzo statue. the suspect was there. and he ran off and was arrested later by philadelphia police. not long after this woman came over and covered up the spray paint with a cloth. they did not want to be identified. >> i am living in the city of philadelphia my whole life. i am upset that someone would take the time out to do damage to a statue, of a man that did a lot for people. >> mayor kenney says he is not a fan of the statue that does not excuse the actses. >> there is no excuse for vandalism or any kind of action like that and people that do that should be arrested. >> and believe that law enforcement resources need to be redirected elsewhere to more important business. >> obviously it doesn't work.

for allegedly overcharging the government. the new case involves paying medicaid too low rebates for the devices by classifying its brand name product as a generic. the judge has cleared the way for nevada to allow more businesses to move marijuana from growers to stores. in order to keep up with growing demand. the judge lifted an order that blocked regulators from issuing pot distribution licenses to anyone other than alcohol wholesalers, it's unique because it provides liquor wholesalers the right to provide marijuana unless they cannot keep up with the demand. a recently released study sheds light on americans drinking habits. americans are drinking a lot more apparently. they followed drinking patterns with 400,000 people.

a soggy friday melissa magee has the latest. >> we are watching this closely, lets see stormtracker 6 live double scan it's dry in philadelphia. we are tracking moisture off to the north and west that is getting closer but i want to focus in on areas in south jersey and going in tighter on street level with stormtracker 6 live double scan you see the moisture pressing out of ocean county but to the south of seaside heights and if you are in barnegat light we track it north of harvey cedars, it's pushing out along the atlantic but more wet weather is expected later on today. there is a lot of moisture in the atmosphere it doesn't take a lot to spark off severe showers and storms. outside sky 6 hd looking at the commodore barry bridge you see

it's mostly cloudy and a dreary start to our friday but improvement does come as we get into the weekend. right now we are tracking the flash flood watch. lasting through midnight for a good portion of the delaware and lehigh valley. roads creeks and streams a high chance of finding flooding in areas today. warm outside and in philadelphia we are coming in at 81 and same thing in allentown and reading. wilmington in at 80. the poconos 71 and dew points are in the middle up toer 70s so as high as you typically see them many it's not going to take a lot to bring out moisture. satellite 6 along with action radar showing you this frontal boundary working its way eastward and making progress eastward through the rest of the afternoon and evening hours. future tracker 6 showing you 2:00 today you have the moisture approaching from the poconos down south and westward in

lancaster, gusty showers and storms a big concern. that is why the storm prediction center placed us a slight risk of finding severe showers and storms through the region. it's right along the i-95 corridor and locally heavy rain say big concern as we go throughout the afternoon and evening hours. 7:30 later on tonight you see the showers approaching south jersey from lakehurst to millville and down into dover, it's not until after midnight during the overnight hours that we tap into some clearing and by saturday afternoon the humidity will gradually lower. if you are down the shore it's mostly cloudy for the majority of the day and showers and storms move in during the afternoon and evening hours. that looks to be the most active time period at the shore, a high temperature of 80. partly sunny and dry by saturday. a high temperature coming in at 86 degrees and moderate risk for rip currents, keep that many mind if you do swimming, mostly sunny and a high of 83.
