the horizon. we had severe weather in pennsylvania late yesterday that's done. we have sunshine building and cloud cover out here, it stays sunny as we roll through the day. 69 currently in philadelphia. 61 in allentown and reading and lancaster. 65 in trenton. 68 in millville. 69 in dover. 74 warmer in cape may. your dewpoints are running in the levels we like to see from philadelphia up north, low 60s. upper 50s, you got to get to 60 before you start talking humidity, millville a little bit more humid, that dark patch of green above dover a bit more humid there, not bad feeling comfortable this morning and staying low with the humidity the rest of the way. we're looking at mostly sunny skies, we'll see serious clouds at times, and pop up fair weather cumulus and generally

very bright. 3:00 p.m., 88 degrees, might be sitting on that at 3:30 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. we have the solar eclipse tomorrow, 80% coverage in the delaware and lehigh valleys. we'll talk about the timing of that when i come up with the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, nydia will give you the latest call for eclipse monday. nice for now, though. >> developing this morning a block party ended with police shooting a man in north philadelphia and an investigation into the shooting is happening right now. the party was happening on the 2500 block of north adder street. one of the attend des notice a man who was not a guest and flagged down officers. the armed man ran toward the alley and they followed him. police say he pointed the gun and opened fire. >> he followed him, my friends

was giving up like this, you know how he wasn't shooting just to shoot, he shot once and took his time and shot two more times. >> the man was shot in the leg and taken to temple university hospital in critical condition. after the police shooting officers say several men began pelting them with rocks and bottles. other officers arrived to calm the situation. no officers were hurt. a wrong way driver is dead after a crash on the new jersey turnpike in mount laurel. a car going southbound in the northbound lanes slammed head on to the other vehicle. the man and woman were not seriously hurt, the identity of the wrong way driver was not released. this morning the son of late philadelphia mayor and police commissioner, frank rizzo is speaking out. in the past few weeks, vandals have taken aim at a statue and mural honoring rizzo. there's call for the statues to

services building. city council woman called for the statue to be taken down. rizzo was a controversial figure among some, his son said he was a heavy handed law enforcer, but not a racist. >> he didn't care if a criminal was white be black, yellow, purple. he enforced the laws. >> reporter: in mural arts philadelphia raised the possibility of removing the mural some calling it divisive, others we spoke said it should stay. >> >> we live in 2017 those things should not matter, we should worry about the war that's starting in the white house. >> the mayor was a big figure in the city. i may not like everything he did. >> why would they want to remove the mural of my dad in

you're driving around the highways and byways across the region. 84 degrees, it's going to be a nice one. good conditions down the shore, we don't have moderate risk of rich currents. in the ocean, 78 degrees around the mouth of delaware bay. 85 in bethany beach. the high in philadelphia, 88 degrees, sunny, warm, winds on the light side 7 to 14 miles per hour. a toasty one out there. cool drinks important if you're out and about doing any exercise or anything like that. overnight mainly clear and comfortable, 64 degrees is the forecasted high there. overnight we're not looking at winds all that strong. for the eclipse we think it will be decent viewing with a few clouds around, the eclipse will begin at 1:21 p.m. in philadelphia. it will peak at 2:44 p.m., when

the sky will be darkest and 80% coverage over the sun at that point, the whole thing wraps up at 1 minute past 4:00 p.m. we'll get warm, high of 89. it will feel more humid as the day goes on. there's a pesky model that brings the cold front in closer to us, clouds us up a little bit more and might give us an afternoon shower. we're trending against that, right now, but i want to mention there's uncertainty in the forecast, most models going with the mostly sunny idea. hopefully, that's the way it holds. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, high 88 degrees, sunny and nice today. tomorrow, mostly sunny and hope that the clouds hold off to the west of us before we get to the end of eclipse around 4:00 p.m. 89 degrees is the high. hot and humid on tuesday, 91 there's a chance of a thunderstorm. on westbound wednesday, humid, a thunderstorm possible, 84 degrees there.

dewpoints are on the low side. anytime you have a dewpoint of 60 we start to talk about humidity, not humid at all in philadelphia or allentown. a little bit stickier in cape may and in dover, you have a dark green blip which would indicate higher humidity. we have sunshine and not that there couldn't be a fair weather cumulus clouds in the afternoon. 7:00 a.m., 69 degrees, noon, 81 degrees. 3:00 p.m., 88 degrees that's the high. 83 degrees at 7:00 p.m. we're looking at a total eclipse in the southern states. around here, 80% coverage, which should be pretty dramatic, if you have the eclipse glasses you can take a look at it. when i come back we'll talk about the forecast for tomorrow and the timing and the dramatic view of the sun with the moon on

the 22-year-old ma -- moroccan man is accused of carrying out the attack. shootout happened in fayette county during a sting separation. the state trooper set up a man suspected of carrying out a string of robberies. the meeting turned into a confrontation, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot one of the troopers in the stomach, the other in the hand. the troopers returned fire killing the suspect, one trooper remains in critical condition. a second police officer shot in florida friday night has died, sam howard and matthew dua confrontation in kissimmee. officers arrested the suspect at a bar. >> the kennedy center awards will go on without president trump and the first lady.

partial solar eclipse here, total out in the midwest and the southern states. we're looking at very likely good viewing with sunshine and clouds. i'll talk about that in a moment. the eclipse begins the at 1:21 a.m., it peaks at 2:44 p.m. it ends at 1 minute past 4:00 p.m. it's around the 2:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m. period it will be the best. we're looking at a frontal boundary to our west tomorrow. if it stays to the west, we'll winds up with mostly sunny skies and patchy clouds. 89 is the high. i could see humidity rising during the day. some models are suggesting as this pushes east we'll cloud up a little bit, perhaps before the eclipse is done. there's a pesky model that has a shower popping up in the afternoon. we're not going that way, we'll go optimistic because most of the models have us staying dry in the afternoon with mostly
