across the region. as you head through millville, cape may and dover, maybe a little bit sweatier down there. as we roll through the day, 88 is the high. reaching that around 3:00 p.m. that's a few degrees above average, but it's a nice 88 in that the humidity will remain low. of course, it's bright today, low 69 that's around average. monday mark the arrival of the eclipse. when i step inside we'll giving up the times when it will be the most pro uns -- pronounced for eclipse monday. 24 people are hospitalized as they recover from a crash on i-78 in north hampton county. the vehicle lost control and did a complete flip before landing on its wheels. i-78 was closed for an hour as state police investigated. the cause of the crash is under investigation. new at 9:00 a.m. a clerk at

a 7-eleven has been rushed to the hospital after being stabbed. police were called to the convenience store on the unit block of juniper off market in center city 6:45 a.m. this is the 7-eleven on the ground floor of the marriott hotel. police tell "action news" the man got into an argument over cigarettes. at some point the man pulled out knife and stabbed the clerk in the neck. the 52-year-old clerk was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. time 9:02 a.m., supporters of the late philadelphia mayor frank rizzo have been standings on guard outside a statue on city hall. they want to prevented be vandals from doing more damage after a statue and mural of rizzo were defaced in the past week. >> the latest affect of vandalism came yesterday morning when someone threw paint on the mural. "action news" talked to rizzo's

firing shots and this morning there's investigation about what led up to the shooting. officers on bike patrol were flagged down about a mantua a gun who was not a part of the celebration. when officers approached they say the man ran toward an alley, the officers followed him that's when they say the man pointed a gun. that's when officers opened fire. the man was shot in the leg and taken to temple university hospital in critical condition. after the shooting, several men allegedly threw rocks and bottles at the officers in protest. no officers were hurt. a wrong way driver is dead after a crash on the new jersey turnpike in mount laurel. police say a car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it slammed held on into another vehicle. a man and woman in the car that was hit were not seriously injured. the wrong way driver's identity was not released. good news as you head to

the gas station. gas prices are dropping. 2.33 down two cents from this time last week, although it's 18 cents more than this time last year. in philadelphia, 2.55 down two cents. drivers are paying 2.30 which is five cents cheaper than last week's average. in delaware 2.22 per gallon that's down 3 cents from last week. this could be good news for your wallet. there were no big winners in last night's powerball drawing. the jackpot is worth $650 million. that's the third largest jackpot in u.s. history. there were tickets sold in new jersey and pennsylvania, that matched the first five white balls, those are worth a million dollars. here's a look at the winning numbers, 17, 19, 39, 43, 68 and the powerball 13. i still have a shot.

that 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. is where you will get the most intense coverage of the sun. it will end at 1 minute past 4:00 p.m. there will be a frontal boundary off to the west, that will keep us warm a southerly flow. 89 is the high. might start to feel more humid as the day goes on. most of the models are keeping that far enough to the west of us, we wind up with mostly sunny skies and few clouds. there are, however, indications on one model in particular, the nam where it wants to sell the idea of showers and clouds coming in faster, the rest of it holding off rain until tomorrow night. we'll go with the mostly sunny calls. even though these model models have rain in the evening. this one want to keep us wet tomorrow afternoon. 88 degrees, low humidity. tomorrow, mostly sunny skies, high of 89.

"action news" went in search for the coveted eclipse viewing glasses. >> meteorologist david murphy joins us with the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast. it's a good one. >> reporter: it's beautiful out there right now and staying that way later today. let's look outside, you can see the satellite is showing us plenty of sunshine, very little cloud cover out there. looks like we'll maintain fairly sunny conditions throughout the rest of the day and right into the early evening. temperatures right now are mild, 69 degrees in allentown, reading and lancaster. 70 in trenton. 73 in philadelphia. and down i-95 in wilmington. 74 at the airport in ac.

75 in cape may. as we take a look at today looks like a nice day for you and the dog for a walk or play in the park. 79 degrees by 7:00. that's where we were, 69 is where we were at 7:00 a.m. by noon, up to 81. high of 88 by 3:00 p.m. you will want water breaks and sunscreen certainly, you'll want a water break for the pooch, too, nice day overall with lowering humidity. 85 by 5:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., holding the low 80s. as we look at the eclipse forecast everybody needs the glasses that's for sure. the eclipse happens when the sun and moon aligns with the earth. a shadow blocks the sun we'll have a preyou.

preumbral shadow block the eclippings. eclippings -- eclipse. an rv was parked in a driveway in be abington township. crews got the call at 5:25 a.m. when they arrived. they found the rv in flames and pulled two people out. crews put the fire out quickly. a woman and her dog got out of the house safely. the man was taken to the hospital. other person inside the rv was taken to the hospital. no word on their condition. this, the action cam was on the 4500 block of lynn more street in southwest philadelphia where fire damaged a home. that started at 4:45 a.m. crews arrived and had the fire under control in 20 minutes. there were no reports of injuries and no word on the

cause of the fire. it was a day of protests around the country one week after the deadly violence at the white nationalist rally in char lotsville, virginia. no gathering was as large as this one in boston. tens of thousands showed up to counter protest what was billed as a free speech rally. lynn lopez with more on the report. >> reporter: a tense day on the streets of boston. 30,000 people marching against hate and racism. the crowd fearing white nationalists would join a group of conservatives holding a free speech rally. a group from the alt right group showed up. but police kept them a part. police remaining calm even when taunted. president donald trump weighing in online with a series of

tweets looks like many antipolice agitators in boston, police looking tough and smart, thank you. boston mayor and police commissioner agreeing. >> i want to thank everybody of sharing the message of love not hate. >> nobody got hurt or killed. >> reporter: police casting a watchful eye on several other protests around the country. in memphis, police arrested 6 people placing sheets over the statue of a confederate general and slave trader. more than 1,000 protesters rallied against white supremacy in austin. about 75 counter protesters turned out. barricades and police officers keeping aside the parts. abc news new york. >> we have more on the rallies held across the nation this

weekend. hundreds gathered in los angeles yesterday. speakers at the event denounce the hate speech and decried the violence that led to the woman being killed in charlottesville. with the statue of andrew jackson in the background, hundreds gathered to stand against racism and supremacy. heather heyer was killed when the rally in charlottesville turned violent. four confederate monuments have been removed in new orleans. president donald trump and first lady will not be attending the kennedy center awards, he is skipping the event because he has become a political distraction. several guests have said they would not attend the white house reception if president trump was there. it's a protest against his stance following the violence of

charlottesville, virginia. the kennedy center respected the president canceling the reception, the show will go on december 3. dick gregory has died. he made people laugh and made them think about racial divisions in our country. gregory won over white audiences in the crucial first days of the civil rights movement. he drew national attention to the early efforts to promote integration and justice for black people. gregory wrote more than a dozen books, he is survived by his wife and ten children. dick gregory was 84 years old. >> we have details on the shootout on friday between pennsylvania state troopers and robbery suspects. the shootout happened in fayette county during a sting operation state troopers set up with a man suspected of carrying out a string of robberies. the suspect pulled a gun and

shot a trooper in the stomach and the other in the hand. the troopers returned fire killing the suspect. one trooper is in critical condition. a second police officer shot in florida on friday night has died. sam howard and matthew baxter was shot during a confrontation in kissimmee, florida. officers returned fire, officers arrest the suspect at a bar. a 20-year-old was shot in the stomach on the 4600 block of north marvine street in the city's logan section. he was taken to the hospital in a private car. police arrested two suspects in connection with the home invasion in allentown, pennsylvania that left a man dead. a man and woman each 23 years old have been charged with murder and robbery and other crimes in connection with the august 13 killing of jermaine taylor. two others were charged earlier in the case.

people on a barcelona street. this morning, the king and the queen along with the nation's leading government officials gathered at a special mass at the barcelona cathedral to pray for the victims. dozens of road blocks have been put up against the northeastern side of the country. the van crashed into a crowd killing 13 and injuring 120. a 22-year-old moroccan man is suspected of carrying out the attack. there's a piece of disturbing video caught on dash cam. a florida mother was arrested for driving drunk in the car. >> how much have you had to drink? >> an attempted tow truck driver alerted police to the driver in west palm beach. police pulled her over and

conducted a sobriety test. another deputy showed up to take the child. once they got the woman in handcuffs and in the back of the patrol car things look an unexpected turn. >> i will kill you, i will kill you. >> stop kicking my car. >> reporter: i goes without saying, the woman faces charges driving under the influence and child abuse. a woman in oklahoma got a shock when she received a letter that she had a bench warrant for her arrest for an 24-year-old ticket. for a safety inspection ticket. the letter states she owes $228 for failing to pay the ticket 24 years ago. she said she took care of the citation when she received illustrate. the city says she needs to approve she paid the fees. she has hired a lawyer to iron out the situation. 24 years old. >> i bet that situation will be

10:00 a.m., 76. 81 at noon, 88 by 3:00 p.m. 84 degrees at 6:00 p.m. high temperatures across the region. 84 in i will aen -- allentown. 85 in trenton. 86 in millville. cape may, 83 degrees, along the boardwalk in ac in the mid 80s. the eclipse is tomorrow, and we're going to get that 80% coverage around the middle of the afternoon. the eclipse will begin at 1:21 p.m. it peaks at 2:44 p.m. between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. it is at the height. we are generally looking at good viewing with a few clouds out there on most forecast models. there's a front off to the west, depending on how this gets at us, and how quickly it moves we could be in for a few clouds. it's going to be warm no matter what, 87 degrees, maybe more humid in the afternoon hours, particularly with the front getting closer. most of the models suggesting

got into an argument with the clerk over cigarettes. at some point the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the clerk in the neck. he ran off with three packs of cigarettes. the clerk was rushed to hanheman hospital in serious condition. this morning supporters of the late philadelphia mayor frank rizzo has been standings on guard at a statue outside city hall. they want to prevent vandals from doing damage after the statue and mural of ritz were defaced three times in the past week. >> the latest acts of vandalism came early yesterday morning when someone threw paint on the mural in the italian market. >> shame on them, they should find something else to do. >> reporter: from white paint on a mural to black power on a monument, the likenesses of former mayor under assault. his son frank junior reacts. >> it bothers me to see things like this happen. in any stance, you have to remember it's one or two people

it's not a majority. >> reporter: vandals struck the italian market mural splattering paint kill killer cops and rip david one person was taken into custody. in daylight the words were removed. it's horrifying for the joe who helped paint the mural in 1995. >> it's not once, it's like five times, ten times, it happens too often. >> reporter: days earlier a germantown man spray painted the statue of rizzo at the municipal services building, the monument coming urned attack by the city council woman who called for the statue to be taken down. the commissioner and mayor he was a controversial person his son said he was a heavy handed law enforcer, but not a racist.

>> reporter: head of mural arts of philadelphia raised the possibility of remove the mural. some called it divisive, others said it should stay. >> we live in 2017 those things should not matter. we should be worrying about the war that president trump is starting to the white house. >> he was the mayor for 8 years. i might not like many things he did. >> why would they want to remove the mural of my dad in south philadelphia. that mural is there tore people to -- for people to learn about philadelphia. >> reporter: rizzo said his 101-year-old mother heard about the vandalism, she said it bothers her, but used to it since her husband took shots from critics for most of his life and the shots continue.

this weekend more protests held across the nation denouncing white supremacy, the largest by far with 40,000 counter protesters. they marched through the streets to the boston commons where the conservative group was planning to deliver speeches. the event was mostly peaceful with 33 people arrested for disorderly conduct or assaulting police officers. in new jersey, protesters held a anti-trump rally in bedminster. protesters made sign to hold and hang on their vehicles with phrases bashing racism and hate. 100 vehicles throarve through the -- drove through the town honking horns. police officer shot a

person on north alder street. officers were flagged down about a man with a gun who was not part of a celebration. he ran toward the alley officers followed, the man pointed a gun, officers opened fire, the man was shot in the leg and taken to temple university hospital in critical condition. after the shooting several men threw rocks and bottles at the officers in protest. no officers were hurt. a wrong way driver is dead after a crash on the new jersey turnpike in mount laurel. a car was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it slammed head on into another vehicle. a man and woman who were hit were not injured. the identity of the wrong way driver was not release. there was no winner in the powerball drawing. the jackpot is worth $650 million. that's the third largest jackpot in u.s. history. there were tickets sold in new jersey and pennsylvania that

to bethany beach. temperatures in the waters from the low to upper 70s down the shore in the water. 88 degrees, mostly sunny and warm. winds west northwest 7 to 14 miles per hour and humidity on the low side. 69 is the overnight low. mainly clear and comfortable. humidity on the low side. winds dropping from 35 to 10 miles per hour. for the the eclipse, looks like the viewing will be good, a few clouds around. eclipse begins at 1:21 p.m. the peak time for the coverage is around 2:44 p.m. in the afternoon. anywhere between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. will be prime time. the eclipse is over at one minute past 4:00 p.m. locally, again. 80% coverage here. 89 degrees degrees is the high. with the front to the west we'll start to inject a south i southerly flow that might increase the humidity. we'll go sunny with clouds.
