there it's not oppressive. 87 degrees by 2:00 p.m. we expect a high of 88 around 3 or 3:30 p.m. as late as 8:00 p.m. we're dipping into the 70s. we're looking at the solar eclipse tomorrow, to the totaliy path south of us in the carolinas, but we'll be 80%. >> more than a dozen people were sent to the hospital following a bus crash interstate 78 in williams township at 330. a tractor-trailer rear ended the limousine bus it overturned once before landing in an upright position. 26 passengers on the bus were hospitalized. the extent of their injuries has not been released. the truck driver was not injured. no word on charges. in center city, questions

remain about how an argument over cigarettes led to the stabbing of a 7-eleven clerk. police were called to the scene around 6:45 a.m. a man got into a fight with a 52-year-old clerk and stabbed the clerk in the neck. the suspect ran from the store with three packs of cigarettes. the clerk was rushed to hanheman in serious condition. police have not released a description of the suspect. happening at noon, a man is in the hospital after he was shot by police near a block party in north philadelphia. bike patrol officers confronted the armed man on the 2500 block of alder street. he ran away and officers chased him. officers say he turned and pointed the gun in the alley. officers shot and hit him in the leg and side. officers recovered a weapon from the scene which investigators later discovered was stolen. following the shooting, a crowd

of people threw bottles and rocks at them. >> protesters from opposing side clashed in boston after the killing of a demonstrator in charlottesville virginia. 40,000 people were called out to protest free speech rally. conservatives left as counter protesters waved signs that said make nazis afraid again. >> 99.9% of the people are for the right reason to fight bigotry and hate. >> police made 33 arrests for disorderly conduct and assaulting police officers. there was text as police officers tried to put protesters back. it was the largest of a dozen similar events held across the country. >> happening in philadelphia. police are working to figure out whose responsible for vandalizing a mural of the former mayor frank rizzo in south philadelphia friday night.

>> white paint was thrown on the mural with the kill killer cop. this is the first time the mural has been vandalized and not the first place people showed their dislike for the former mayor. several people were standing guard over the former mayor. paint kill killer cops rip david one person was taken into custody. the words were covered and removed. >> it's horrifying for the artist who helped paints the mural in 1995. >> it's not once, it's five times, ten times, it's just -- happens too often. >> reporter: days earlier a germantown man spray painted the statue of rizzo at the municipal services buildings, the monument coming under attack from city council woman in a tweet calling for the statue to be taken down. the police commissioner then mayor was a controversial figure among some. his son said he was a heavy handed law enforcer, but not a racist. >> he didn't care if the criminal was white, black, yellow, purple, he enforced the laws. mural arts raised the

possibility of removing the rizzo mural some calling it divisive, others saying it should stay. >> we live in 2017. those things should not matter we should be worrying about the war that trump is starting in the white house. >> he was the mayor in the city for 8 years, i might not like everything he did. >> reporter: why would they want to remove the mural of my dad in south philadelphia? that mural is there for people to learn about philadelphia. >> reporter: rizzo tells me his 101-year-old mother heard about the vandalism, he said it bothers her, but she is used to it, since her late husband took shots from critics for much of his life, and so the shots continue. jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> as the debate grows weather to remove images many wonder what prompted this reaction.

that idea as we look at cape may and a lot of sunshine. nice day on the beach, a little bit more humid like cape may, but most of us dealing with low humidity. we're up to 80 degrees, dewpoint at 59 degrees. the winds are out of the north at 6 miles per hour. so the winds light. everyone across the region looking good, 80 degrees this beach haven. 77 in trenton. 77 in in in allentown. 80 in philadelphia. 79 in wilmington, 77 in cape may. as we take a look at satellite across the region you're not seeing cloud cover a little bit welling up down to the south. we'll maintain basically sunny skies the rest of the way with pop up cloud cover little cumulus pop ups every now and then. up in the lehigh valley, sunny and warm, 84 degrees is the high there. down the shore, warm, nice conditions, sunny. low risk of rip currents. a good idea to swim near the

lifeguards if you're at the beach. 80s on the beaches. 78 in the water rehoboth beach abbey bethany beach and 85 is the high on the beach in bethany. 85 in philadelphia. sunny, warm, humidity on the low side. winds not all that strong, 7 to 14 miles per hour overall. overnight tonight, still low humidity, comfortable, clear, 69 degrees is the overnight low, around dawn tomorrow. winds west/southwest at 5 to 10. there's patching fog developing along creeks and streams in the low-lying water related valleys. tomorrow we have the partial eclipse. 80% coverage, it starts at 1:21 p.m. it peaks at 2:30 p.m. it will be good viewing if we manage clouds as we go through the early and middle part of the arch. there's a frontal boundary to

the west that will do a couple of things that will encourage a southwesterly flow which will bounce us up to 89 for the high. we're posting mostly sunny, clouds and there are models that suggest that. we are getting concerned that the front might be close enough to us where more clouds kick in the afternoon and there's a chance of a spotty shower in the afternoon. if you don't want rain you'll like the euro and the north american model. gsf and the rpm a little more pronounced backing off the rainfall. if there's a shower it will be late in the day and the evening. we are concerned there's a mixture of clouds and sun. sunny and nice today, 88 low humidity. tomorrow, warm, 89 sun and clouds, as we get into the afternoon and evening.

themselves inside stores. after an hour on the scene, police didn't find a shooter. investigation is on going. an international manhunt continues for the driver of the van that killed a dozen people in barcelona last week. investigators believe the house was used to make bombs for a terror cell. the house was destroyed in an explosion on wednesday. one person died and another injured. investigators have been unable to identify the remains. >> today we're celebrating the life of civil rights activist and comedian dick gregory. one of the first black comedians to bring racially charged comedy in the 1960s. he useed it to -- used it to advocate for social justice. >> you can laugh at problems,

horseback. in atlanta, thousand also marching in an antihate demonstration. while in memphis hundreds gathering to remove a confederate statue. in boston, at least 40,000 people streaming through the streets according to police trying to stop this free speech rally. it's a concern it would be a platform for white supremacists despite denial from the group organizers. it did get heated. this man chased out of the park running toward police as crowds chant after him. run nazi run. >> reporter: police forcing protesters back making 33 arrests. >> i want to come out an confront them head on, i didn't want to miss the chance. >> this a week after the death

of heather heyer in charlottesville. when protests turned deadly. there's a rally in laguna beach, california. where demonstrators will protest the crimes by illegal immigrants. police are trying to determine why the driver was going in the wrong direction before a fatal crash on the new jersey turn piker. police say the vehicle was driving southbound in the northbound lanes. turnpike in mount laurel around 11:00 p.m. the vehicle collided with another car. the wrong way driver died. the man and woman in the other vehicle had minor injuries. two people were rescued from an early morning blaze in montgomery county. a viewer sent in the video of the flames on lamont avenue in

hosted a baby shower for winter. in fact winter arrived for the big event at the beach in a sebastien le -- le tutu. her post has been liked more than 157,000 times. the dog baby shower, never heard of it before in my life. dogs and babies, good on social media. >> reporter: it's a nice day buildings across the region. we have sunshine pouring down over the airport on sky6 live hd. the camera bouncing a little bit. every now and then we get a breeze up in the teens. generally speaking it's not all that much of a breeze today. the temperature 80 degrees. the dewpoint in philadelphia has slipped below the 60-degree threshhold before we begin to talk about humid air, it's comfortable out there, winds are light at 6 miles per hour

officially. ocean temperature dipped up to 73 degrees off ac. warmer than that the farther south you go off the coast. we have a big beautiful bright day building off the region. it's a nice afternoon with clouds popping up here and there. 88 degrees is the high in philadelphia. 84 in allentown. 85 in trenton and reading. cape may stopping at 83. through the rest of the afternoon in philadelphia, 87 by 2:00 p.m. 88 degrees by 3:00 p.m. back to 86 by 4:00 p.m. lots of sun. by 8:00 p.m., 81. by 10:00 p.m. 76 degrees. we'll be getting into the 60s. of course tomorrow we have the partial solar eclipse it begins at 1:21 p.m. it peaks at 2:44 p.m. and ends 4:01 p.m. 80% coverage should be dramatic with the right glasses. good viewing would be nice if we only get a few clouds.

we're starting to see a little influence on some models from a frontal boundary to the west probably far enough out to the west where it doesn't majorly affect us, if that's the case we'll wind up with sunny skies. 89 is the high, a bit more humid with the southerly flow as we go through the day. a couple of models suggesting that the front is close enough. there's a weak disturbance that comes through causing afternoon clouds and showers here and there. most of the shower activity would be late in the afternoon and evening after the eclipse that's something we want you to stick with us. as far as preparing for the eclipse. don't look directly at the sun 0. you need the eclipse glasses. find a watch party because they have glasses to hand out to you and share amongst yourself. hope for clear skies, we hope that's what we get, a little bit uncertain about that. sunny and nice today, 88 degrees, low humidity.

disagreement on that. him we're looking for a late day or nighttime shower after the eclipse. >> breaking news this noon, police have released a photo of the suspect wanted in a center city stabbing. they say this is the man who attacked the clerk some of the 7-eleven on juniper street. the clerk suffered a stab wound to the neck and other cuts. he is in stable condition at the hospital. there was a dispute over cigarettes that led to the attack. the suspect got away with three packs of cigarettes. if you have seen him call police. john mccain went hiking this weekend after finishing a round of chemo therapy and raid raid -- radiation. he posted this picture on social media. the trio hiked near oak creek canyon, senator mccain expects to return to washington next

month. the penn museum is putting a spotlight on culture in the crossfire with an exhibition on war-torn religions in the middle east. karen rogers has more in 6abc loves the arts. >> reporter: cultures in the crossfire is the name of the exhibition it explores the heritage and diversity and the achievement of syria and iraq highlighting the museum's work to aid refugees in the countries and rescue cultural treasures. the exhibition is divided into themes that explore identity and daily life and the movement of people. >> we have a whole medley of things on display, a rattle that is 6,000 years old. >> reporter: another theme focuses on scholarships. >> the alphabet was incident vented along the syrian coast. we have early writing. >> reporter: there are works commissioned by a syrian born artist. >> his work here is in a number
