town about the size of wilmington, they are going big so we stopped by some local hot spots here, and, they are mixing up, some drinks in honor of this once in a lifetime, path of totality at tiger's den. it is a very cool mini lay briar i with the bar in the middle and we say chairs to liquid totality. i got an art lesson from julie gray taking edible glitter mixed with vodka over moon macaroons and let me tell you, they were incredible. they were gooey in the middle and crunchy on the outside. also t-shirts they are hot at toms remember that st. joseph was in the path of totality, in 2017. and oh, hard to come by glass that he is we cannot find in the philadelphia delaware valley, they are still here in the path of totality on sale, along with some really unique homemade items. >> i just have artists working for over a year to prepare for this. they are pretty much tired of hearing bit at this point

because i sent out so many reminder but yes, we have wonderful artist that is really do great work so we're super excited to have this opportunity. >> year in the making. >> year in the making. >> reporter: so year in the making. no matter if you are in the partial path, or the total path, there are things you should know about this very rare event. this will be first u.s. solar eclipse in 38 years, but first coast to coast total solar eclipse in 99 years. it will cut across 12 states sending daylights to dusk or even darkness in the totality path especially. stars and planets will come out near sun, horizon glows like a sunset, temperatures can drop, and night bird may even sing. the totality is 07 miles and will cross the country in 90 minutes. shadow will begin at speed of 3,000 miles an hour in oregon and then slow to 1500 miles in south carolina all due to the geometry of the earth and moon less than one in 1,000 people

get to see the total solar eclipse. more than 200 million people live within a one day drive of the 07-mile wide path of the totality. fit is a cloudy day or you missed the eclipse next chance is in a short seven years. in 2024 the path of totality will cut through western pennsylvania. back home you won't be able to see complete totality but still an 80 percent chunk of the sun will be blocked, and for areas that unfortunately are under cloud cover chief astronomer derek pits from the franklin institute said you won't be left out this day in age. >> we will be connected in ways we have never been connected before through social media, there will be so many different agencies, streaming views of eclipse that we can go right than line on our smart phones, lap tops and ten breathes and still experience the total solar eclipse. >> reporter: all right. i call myself a weather geek. he is a geek when it comes to astronomy. he has been here over the week over river in the airport

wide path from oregon down into south carolina. but back here at home, we are dealing with a partial total solar eclipse. we have pretty good viewing conditions on the way tomorrow a few more cloud popping up by the afternoon but for delaware , lehigh valleys this begin at 1:21 in the afternoon and peaks at 2:44 and end at 4:01 in the afternoon where 80 e eclipsed by the moon. so satellite six with action radar showing dry, quiet right now with ridge of high pressure in control but tomorrow this ridge of high pressure will move furthere and we will start to tap into a return flow coming in from the south and west. so that will write in more moisture as we go throughout the day n fact future tracker six showing you by 1:30 tomorrow a weak disturbance off to the west that could trigger some showers across western pennsylvania, and by 1:30. notice partly sunny in philadelphia but a few more cloud off across our western viewing area we will talk about what we can expect for the eclipse tomorrow. it is partly sun which a few

"action news" reporter trish hartman is live in wayne where they are setting up for an official watch party, hi there , trish. >> reporter: hi there, folks from the cape may nature center have been spending their evening setting up for the eclipse watch party here at roberts elementary school in wayne. you can see the set of some tents for registration over there, 300 people are expect to fill this one are for the sold out event, tomorrow afternoon. they are calling it the great american eclipse viewing party and it has been chosen by nasa as an observation site for

collecting of data during the eclipse. tomorrow kid will collect information about air temperatures and cloud competition for nasa scientists during the solar eclipse. organizers will also have, lots of eclipse fun facts, foulke clure and fun facts for the kid. they will be handing out solar eclipse snacks like sunny d, sun chips and sunflower seed. organizers hope this event will get kid and grown ups excited about science once again. >> they will not at the sun but opposite the continue toward the sky to see if there are any cloud, change in the cloud during that time and they will also make observations on how dark it will get. so, with 75 percent blockage it is probably going to be like twilight. >> reporter: now they say even with protective glasses or filters you should only look at eclipse for three minutes at a time and then take a five to 10 minute break. they will be ringing the school bell every three minutes to remine folks to take a break and protect their

center city. they want the public to get a good lot at suspect. authorities say this man got in the fight with a six two-year old clerk at the store along unit block of juniper street at 6:35 this morning. faces lated when the attacker stabbed the clerk in the met. he ran from the store empty handed and left behind his knife. clerk was expected to survive. if you know this man please call the police. a possible barricade situation in kensington, ended with a seizure of weapons at a possible grenade. however, man wanted on a aggravated assault charge got away. police officers went to the home along the 3300 block of heartville street just before 1:30 this afternoon. officers tried to take a man into custody but he ran away from the scene. another person in the home, looking inside and that is when the allegedly found a gun and possible hand grenade. area was block off so weapons could be safely removed. new jersey state police are trying to determine, why a driver was going the wrong way down the new jersey turnpike

before causing a deadly crash. it happened in the southbound lanes of mount laurel at 11:00 . the vehicle collided with another car, and police say the wrong way driver was the one who was killed, a man and a woman in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries. three delaware men are behind bars tonight for allegedly manufacturing methamphetamine. police say brian holden, hunt are stockman, lathham very were cooking behind the residence in farming ton. authorities say they also found components and key ingredients used to make the drug. gas leak forced customers and staff at whole food in wynnewood to briefly evacuate this morning. it happened around 11:30 a.m. "action news" learned gas line was struck in the parking garage near the store. peco crew as arrived and brought the situation under control within about 45 minutes and no one was hurt. jerry lewis, comedian, actor and tireless fund raise 's begins ms has diced in las vegas.

creep in the forecast for south jersey and also into dover. satellite six with action radar showing you it is dry, quiet thanks to the dominating ridge of high pressure. so we are tapping in the northwesterly wind but off to the west a few more cloud moving through ohio valley and by tomorrow evening, we will be tracking this disturbance coming out of the ohio valley and working its way east. over next 12 hours mostly clear, it is nice, dropping down to 62 in the suburbs and 69 degrees in philadelphia, for overnight low. fast forward in the day on monday because by then we will be tracking the eclipse, it is partly sunny, 69 at 7:00 a.m. a few more cloud will move in throughout the afternoon hours , otherwise, highs tomorrow, will be in the 80's. so lets talk about this solar eclipse. we are expecting it tomorrow, passes through 12 states, and if you are within those 12 states that is where we will find a path of totality, it stretches from oregon to south carolina and it will take 90 minutes for the eclipse to cross the u.s. and last time
