mother nature. we are learning some of the details of the president's new ban on transgender people in the military. but the big story on "action news" is breaking news involving the search for the ten missing sailors on board of uss john mccain. military official asnounced that the body pulled from the wreckage has just been identified as a young man with ties to south. 22-year-old kenneth smith was an electronics technician on board the ship. his family members attend church at united methodist church in cherry hill. he and nine other sailers disappeared when the tanker co mccain. and the operation to find the remaining nine sailors switches from search and rescue to search and recovery. >> we continue to follow the story and bring you any updates. a teenager is fighting for

her life after being struck by a car in montgomery county. she was video traffic when she walked into traffic. jeanette reyes is live at the abington police station. >> reporter: sara at last check this teen is in critical condition being treated at chop. this all happened crossing the street when she was face timing at the time of the crash. we reached out and she told us she did go to a high school here and counselors were made available to her peers. >> police are still investigating the accident at highland road that sent a 14-year-old girl to the hospital. jacqueline lived down the street from the scene and rushed to the crowd huddled around the teen on the ground. >> i heard god no. no. as a mother it was an update setting no. i knew something was wrong.

>> chopper 6 hd was over the scene after it happened at 3:00. the teen was crossing the street while face timing and was hit by this white vehicle. the abington officials would only say she was on her way to a school activity. >> i take highland avenue to my store leavelevityavevityavevitts hot dog. >> usually the traffic is obeying the speed limit like 25 miles per hour. but when the lights are flashing it's 15 miles per hour so it's hard to believe that someone got hurt. >> multiple people called 911 and the driver pulled over and called for help. >> after speaking with witnesses it was determine that the young lady was distracted on facebook

on her cell phone that was obviously a contributing factor in the accident. >> reporter: and we are told that the speed limit on the road is reduced from 25 to 15 miles per hour. but that is when school is in session that is not until next week. police are investigating the crash and they are looking into specifically whether or not the teen was in the crosswalk whent by the car. >> thank you. an 11-year-old boy shot him several in the face overnight. the boy was rushed to methodist hospital at 12:30 this morning, is he now in critical condition. police were notified of t shooting on south hicks street and the police found the gun and bullets inside of the bedrooms of the home. >> it's the bedroom of the mother and father whoe at the time.
