hour. that sets a record for atlantic basin hurricane. the maximum wind gusts 225 miles per hour. not surprised that we lost communication with smaller islands that are affected by this. a historic strengthed storm. the winds only go out 50 miles to the center. it possible that puerto rico avoids the hurricane strength winds not so for at bahamas and turks and the wind damage could be worse than harvey. but it will affect a large area and so many different lan masses. as we look at irma come towards florida. look at all the tourist destination involved in flav, if you go in closer and look at the

bottom three counties including miami, ft. lauderdale and west palm beach. 3 million people live here. all of these areas will get flooding rainfall but in particular hurricane force winds and as we look at the long range track it appears that this could come ashore around miami. as a category four storm and still be off the coast of daytona beach, as a category three over the weekend. and long range plots show it moving to the east and that is not good for florida or the carolinas, we can't rule out an east coast storm. we are is rain and drenching downpours every now and then for the rest of the afternoon i'll take a closer look on storm track coming up. we are seeing widespread

property damage from hurricane irma in the caribbean. it knocked out electricity for the the entire island of saint martin and the government headquarters building partially destroyed and no rescue vehicles can move. and people are shoring up in florida because of a possible direct hit. people are shoring up their windows and putting up sandbags. grocery store shelves are cleared out as people ride out the storm. city leaders in miami are putting plans in place for a voluntarily evacuations as soon as tonight and officials in the florida keys are forcing tourists to leave now. >> this storm surge is going to hit your house. we can rebuild homes but we cannot rebuild your family.

he said he never dishonored his office. prosecutors say he used his job to advance a doctor. both are pleading not guilty. federal and local authorities in maple shade have scheduled a press conference for the death of a mother and son. they were stabbed to death in their apartment in march. the victim's husband says he found their bodies and in addition to adding a new reward they will canvas the complex hoping to implore witnesses to come forward. the woman that admitted to noting to syria to join isis will hear her sentence this afternoon.

she is charged with one count of trying to provide material support to a terrorist organization. that she tried to raise money online and wanted to take part in a suicide mission. she was arrested in 2015 and is facing 15 years in prison. a burlington city business is accused of selling stolen goods to his customers without their knowledge. he operates the food mart at federal street and he encouraged people to steal from other stores and would buy them at a fraction of the price. singh is facing multiple charges including conspiracy and theft up next, the fallout for president trump's plan to protect thousands of young immigrants, and now he says he will revisit his decision.

lets get you to the tropics, hurricane irma a historic category five hurricane with 185 sustained winds it looks like it will level the turks and caicos in a couple of days by friday. and friday night saturday morning, it looks like it will come in contact with areas of miami with 145 miles per hour winds and still a category three when it comes in close to jacksonville. and there is a second tropical storm that is jose. and there is houston you don't want another rain maker there, this looks to be a category one angling in to the coast of mexico. and 70 is today's hopeful high. and stuck in the 60s in spots and periods of rain in the

evening on future tracker 6, and tomorrow better afternoon and 74 and friday nice and partly sunny and 73 and the weekend autumnal and 71 on saturday. and monday mid-70s and by tuesday, 76 and that would be the day we cloud up and get 134 rain from irma. stick with us on that. a lot could happen with that storm.
