down on grand turk and you saw the damage on barbuda, and it could be worse on turks and caicos. this will likely wall oh that island chain. . we have the hurricane warning in effect from turks and caicos through the bahamas. the hurricane warnings are posted from south florida to key west. the watch means that hurricane conditions are expected in the next 48 hours and future tracker shows that is the case. by saturday night we are looking at wind gusts, key largo 1:14, miami hurricane force wind gusts pushing up the coast sunday morning and the hurricane force winds extend 120 miles across the and that is actually the size of the entire peninsula of florida. more details on the ultimate track we are expecting coming up in the full accuweather forecast. >> thank you. meantime, adrian is a disaster

worker with the red cross of pennsylvania and flew out of philadelphia international airport today heading to south carolina. that is where he will join other emergency relief workers to prepare for hurricane irma's arrival next week. he says they have got red cross representatives in florida already and many still in texas. >> we are stretched potentially over five or six states and we have the wild fires still in california. and we have a couple of folks still supporting the canadian red cross with the wild fires up there. it's a stretch on our human and material resources but the red cross plans for this, this is what we do. we are ready if and when irma strikes. >> the red cross's main priority is to help people displaced get shelter and food. >> there are countless stories now of loved ones, people with loved ones stranded on the caribbean islands. many could not get out in time. vernon odom is live in king of

a philadelphia police officer who killed a suspect in a controversial shooting is now suspended. today the police commissioner announced the officer violated the office policy when he shot david jones in june. chad pradelli is outside of police headquarters with the latest. >> reporter: yes, the officer was suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss. he was fired. commissioner ross called this a complicated one, it's a split second decision, and lives are at stake. ryan use from the family but they expect a greater justice. >> i believe they completed half their job. he wait thiested that

is it. >> the shooting happened on june 8th on whitaker and officer parnell stopped jones. >> he felt a gun in his waist band, and he pulled his gun and told the male not to move but the male kept reaching under his hoody and broke free from the officer and pulled the gun from his waist band. >> that pernell attempted to fire his weapon but it jammed. and he then ran off and then pernell cleared the jam, and fired two more times and hitting him. the first attempted shot justified but once jones ran away the 12 year veteran should have taken cover and assessed the situation. it shows jones clearly didn't have his weapon. and ross acknowledged that it appears that pernell believe that jones was armed.

phone and was filming it. >> it looks like you had a good time? >> i did. and i love that studio audience. bring it on here. >> thanks. how about a check of the accuweather forecast. lets bring in cecily tynan. keeping a close eye on irma. lets head to the "action news" weather center. the satellite image of irma it remains a strong category five hurricane and the winds dropped 10 miles per hour because it is acting with the dominican republic. category five starts at 150 miles per hour. if we had a category six this would be one. the pressure now is 922 millibars and that is low, and when you have a strong hurricane with low pressure, it acts like a straw and pulls up the water and that creates the tremendous wind surge moving west northwest

at 16 miles per hour. and maximum gusts 215 miles per hour. and we have hurricane katia and hurricane jose if the atlantic basin. very active that is pretty typical if you look at when tropical season spikes, september 10th, and that is sunday. that is potentially when irma will make the first of two possible landfalls in the u.s. and the spaghetti plots, they are the individual computer models. the remarkable consensus is rolling up eastern florida and rolling up miami first and making a second landfall in savannah or hilton head. this will likely be the worst damage and even worse than hurricane andrew in 1992, the storm surge the winds will make many places, and homes

left at least 10 dead and millions without power aes acro the caribbean. the storm essentially decimated the tiny island of barbuda, destroying 95% of the structures there. with damage like that officials in florida are not taking chances. mandatory evacuations are in place for low lying and coastal parts of that state as well as the florida keys. governor rick scott residents that ignore the order to prepare to be on their own. those that stay will not be rescued once the storm strikes. >> we may not know where irma will make landfall in the united states but we know that a storm this size several states need to now be on high alert. >> to more on the hurricane's track and timing we go to immediameteorologis meteorologist, cecily tynan, in for adam joseph. >> the position of irma is key. that eye is well north of the dominican republic.

they have very high mountains and that is typically where hurricane goes to die. but because the eye is north, minimal affect. the maximum sustained winds dropped to 175 miles per hour and that is a strong cat five and bearing down on the beautiful island of turks and caicos, they will have damage just as bad if not worse than saint martin and continuing on the path north northwest and maximum sustained winds 175, and threading the needle south of the bahamas and north of cuba ta means it will likely be a major category four hurricane by saturday morning and starting to make that turn up the coast of florida, the latest national hurricane center forecast does have the first landfall near miami. reemerging in the atlantic east of jacksonville and likely making a second landfall near hilton head and savannah.

both cosmo dinardo and sean kratz were scheduled for preliminary hearings and one of those produced several new gruesome details. >> some details left family members in tears. as they sat in court for the two cousins accused of killing four in july. they watched cosmo dinardo of bensalem wave his preliminary hearing. he was facing charges of conspiracy and murder and abuse of a corpse and robbery. in connection with the deaths. the bodies were discovered in july buried on a dinardo family farm in salisbury. >> they did not get to see him face-to-face but they certainly saw him and he appeared to be a cowardly individual on that screen. on that video. in a prison where he belongs.

if are you in the car trying to get home. issues on the westbound vine approaching the schuylkill that is gone, and now a problem on the eastbound side a broken down car near broad street on the vine street expressway eastbound blocking the left lane, giving us extra heavy delays from 76 along the vine opinion construction on it's local vine. and any way you go you'll hit delays. on the schuylkill itself a crash on the eastbound side approaching the conshohocken curve is in the process of clearing out. it was off to the side and will be gone momentarily. and a crash at quakertown by the 663 shopping plaza. that too has cleared. and a new crash in warminster along bristol road east of york road and you don't want to head to county line instead. that is closed until 6:00 p.m. for construction. so bottom line is, street road in between the two or byberry
