florida's west coast is expected to have the worst storm in its history. a potential deadly storm surge and possibility of tornadoes. >> this is a look from palm beach florida where the darkness serves as a bray lude of things to come. it's saturday night. i'm walter perez. 6,000,000 people have been told to evacuate florida. if they have not now, it's too late. the window has closed and the only thing to do is find the safest place. 75,000 people are spending the night in shelters. it's unlikely they'll sleep. we have team coverage of irma

tonight. brian taff is in naples which seems to be in the storm's cross hairs. we begin with melissa magee. we'll track irma tonight and during the overnight hours. you can see irma has for most of the day been flirting with the north coast of cuba and reemerged and expected to strengthen a bit. winds 120 miles per hour. we have been tracking with the hurricane warnings up and down the sunshine state melbourne to key lar go, key west and florida. on the eastern side of the state you see rain ban bans affecting

florida. you have tropical storm gusts 5e weather threat on the eastern side of the storm. the focus now on coastal sections of florida. the national hurricane center updated this about 30 minutes ago, winds 120 miles per hour. right now, we are starting to see the turn to the northwest at six miles per hour. it's a category three storm expected to cross near or over the florida keys overnight tonight and early tonger tracking more of a hook slightly to the west as we go throughout the rest of tomorrow. a second landfall is possible across the southwest coast as well. irma's impact, rainfall 8 to 20-inches especially for the keys, acelated spots, 25-inches. storm surge 5 to 15 feet. a secondary landfall expected

section. the victim was shot in the face in front of his three-year-old daughter. annie mccormick is live at police headquarters with the story. >> police saying the suspects are brothers. they believe they went to the neighborhood looking to rob someone. the crime police say was caught on tape. so was the get away and both men are behind bars. >> in 2 29 years, it's one of te most chilling things i have seen. >> maurice roberts and his 16-year-old brother tried to rob grandville. >> police are not identifying the 16-year-old because he is a juvenile but he will be charged

as an adult. a home surveillance system captured the crime. several along the escape route showed the two running, entering the septa station shortly after the shooting. early this evening in mount olive, new jersey, roberts was placed in custody. hours later police arrested the 16-year-old. a memorial continues to grow for the married father of two at the community garden. >> police are comparing recent armed robberies to see if they are connected to the brothers. the older brother has several prior arrests. the victim's funeral is set for wednesday. annie mccormick, channel6 "action news." >> thank you for that. >> from the delaware news room, a 42-year-old was killed after

it's a category three storm right now. we have the latest stats with winds 120 miles per hour. we are seeing a shift from the west northwest to the northwest six miles per hour, maximum sustained gusts at 60 miles per hour. it's a large storm we are tracking for the state of florida. the sustained winds looking at the center of circulation, the red is the indication of hurricane force winds from the center of the storm. the yellow shaded circle is an indication of tropical storm force winds extending 205-miles out from the center of the storm. to give you an idea, tropical storm force winds are greater than the state of florida because florida from west to east extends 120-miles wide. the storm will strengthen as it

reemerges over the waters of the caribbean. water temperatures are in the middle 80s. hurricanes like this, tropical system and moisture over head because it intensifies the storms. irma winds 120 miles per hour moving northwest at six miles per hour crossing near or over the lower florida keys tomorrow morning and make a potential landfall close to naples, close to fort myers and in between tampa sunday afternoon into sunday night. if we continue going with this track, it will stay hurricane status as it reaches the panhandle of florida throughout the early morning hours monday as well. back here at home, it's calm, comfortable, 59 in philadelphia, 47 in the poconos, cool as well. mostly clear as we look at satellite 6 with action radar,
