williams. the lafayette college freshman died on monday as to the how that has yet to be determined. lehigh valley correspondent walter perez is live at the college with the full story. >> reporter: well jim, as you suggested a lot more to come in this case in the days and weeks to come as investigators try to piece together what led to the death of a promising young student athlete. the lehigh valley coroners office determine that mccray williams died of blunt trauma to the head and the manner of death is confirmed but the cause of death is yet to be determined. it comes after lafayette students gathered to honor the man described as a standout athlete and student.

>> to just comfort one another and do what they could as a community to make sense out of something that this age and at this time in their lives doesn't make any sense. >> investigators say that the victim was found unconscious outside of an on campus dormitory on sunday afternoon. he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead the following day with his parents by his side. despite the fact that paramedics were called on sunday, they say that williams death was the end rupt of of a series of events that began on saturday. and investigators offer no further information about the death as of yet. >> some incident took place that possibly contributed to the medical emergency and we are trying to determine what occurred and why it occurred and who else was involve if anybody. >> and mccray graduated from a boarding school in massachusetts earlier this year and committed to playing at lafayette a few months ago.

he was only 19 years old. walter perez, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. a two month investigation in trenton ended with the arrests and seizure of more than 7,000 dollars worth of drugs. two arrests were made and police arrested 40-year-old allen harper and 23-year-old parrish whitmore and they found 49 bricks of heroin and crack cocaine during a search of of paper's car and his home on kent street. and they recover aid fully loaded handgun that was stolen out of washington township pennsylvania. thousands of people gathered today for a final farewell to gerard granzel. he was murdered at his home in the spring garden section of philadelphia. jeanette reyes was there for the good buys today. more than two hours after the funeral hundreds of people formed the line that led into

one building is stirring up controversy. john rawlins live in spring garden with that story. >> reporter: i jim, the city would probably say this school district would take issue with merm, they call it a colocation. meaning that two different schools are located under one roof and that belongs to ben franklin high school and some were take and by surprise among them the parents of the students of the other school. >> a lot of parents were upset. i don't know if it posed the right word the decision is made. >> the parent of the science leadership academy student reacting to word that the sla will move from 22nd and arch to a redeveloped ben franklin high school on north broad and that sla is losing the lease and ben franklin has room and makes sense. >> it's access ib by a subway line and close to the franklin

this is new at 6:00 tonight an atlantic city police officer has spent the past year fighting to get his life back after being shot in the line of duty. josh fidel took a bullet to the head and today walking and talking and thankful to be alive. nora muchanic has more on the road to recovery. >> i don't believe it myself that a year ago, i almost died. >> that is former atlantic city police officer josh fidel who last september was shot in the head responding to the robbery at the parking garage at caesars he remembers the moment. >> the first gunshot and feeling weakness and then i remember my partner returning fire. >> they were not sure he was even going to make it through the night. >> fidel's night laura delivered a baby a week after he was shot. and he spent five weeks in icu and five surgeries one to

install a plast plate to replace his skull. he has limited mobility on his left side and has intense therapy making amazing progress. >> the stronger i get in my arm and leg the better i feel. i am starting to get my confidence back. >> the physical therapy is grueling and josh tells me there are times he wanted to quit. his wife and kids kept him going. >> i need to get better for them. >> he forgets how well he is doing and i save pictures and videos and he can see how much progress he has made. >> laura plans to go back to school to fin irher bachelors degree while josh stays home with the kids and retired from the police force in the july and wants to be a motivational speaker. >> everybody has the will inside of them to fight and they need to dig down deep and find it. >> the can do attitude and a lot

of support is helping josh fidel on his long road to recovery. nora muchanic, channel 6 "action news." we saw surprising sight on a pond in cumberland county, new jersey. look closely that pink bird you see is a rosette spoon bill found in texas and florida. experts think it fled here escaping the hurricanes in florida and texas and the last sighting of a rosette spoon bill was 1985. look at the bill shaped like a long wooden spoon. in chester county dozens of people turned out to wish kay mcmillan a happy 105th birthday she drives and lives in her home and does her on cooking and

late word from accuweather. adam joseph. >> more tropical the next several days and stretches into next week and more summer like air as moved back in. and quite a change if the last hour or so. during the 4:00 shower you couldn't even see the center city skyline with a lot of that mist and drizzle that passed through and low lying clouds but

we start to brighten things back up as the area of cloud cover has pushed to the north and west closer to the lehigh valley and a little bit of brightening to the sky here before we end the day. as we look at stormtracker 6 live double scan any of that drizzle is closer towards reading and allen tonight and montgomery county. and now with the breaks developing and a very damp ground and high humidity it will develop fog here overnight tonight. until that happens, we take a look at the current visibilities and philadelphia is down to a mile an hour ago and bumped up to 10 miles and all that pushed no the north and west and reading a half mile and allentown is 1.5 mile visibility because of the mist and low clouds. where we have that darker cloud cover it's only in the 60s now in allentown and redding and philadelphia it bumped up a few degrees at 75 and 75 in dover

and breaks of sun and without the sun you feel the change in the air mass and part of it is because of a warm front that swung through here early on today. it opens up the tropical atmosphere. because of irma down to the south moving to the north. running five and a half degree as below normal. an eight day stretch where temperatures are below normal each and every afternoon and we turn things around as we head north of normal going into the weekend and next week. there goes to the warm fronts and the thicker cloud cover temporarily. and to the south and west this is an area of low pressure that originally was the circulation of irma. that will continue to drift to the north and west of us tomorrow. bringing a cold front through and the chance of showers and downpours especially this time tomorrow. tonight areas of drizzle continue to lift away and patchy fog develops and temperatures in

the 60s and the human remains sky high and future tracker tomorrow shows clouds winning over sunshine and through the day most of the day is dry and 3:00, 4:00 in the afternoon scattered showers and downpours develop and they continue to drift through parts of the area. during tomorrow night and then we begin to dry out here on friday morning with the brightening to the sky. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast temperatures in the upper 70s and humid with some again afternoon showers developing and normal 79 this time of year. you can see we are going to get back above that for six hours out of the next seven days and with the higher humidity it feels like summer friday, saturday, and sunday and monday and we take out any shower chances during the time period and staying warm and dry tuesday and wednesday in the low 80s. we thought summer had left us here. >> coming back. come on back. >> this afternoon's rain didn't stop a rally aimed at generating
