island of puerto rico is out of power and will remain that way for weeks if not months. the navy is in the area evacuating the residents because of the only power is from generators. and fema is sending water and portable shelters and generators. and airlines could resume flights there as early's today. earthquake survivors are still being pulled from the rubble in mexico city as rescue operations stretch into a fourth day. the city government says that 60 people were rescued since the 7.1 magnitude and fewer of the living are being found and the death toll stands at 286. in a shocking twist, a little girl reportedly trapped in a collapsed school apparently did not exist. rescue crews say they heard the girl and saw her wiggle her fingers but officials say that every child registered at this scccounted for

tensions continue to escalate with the u.s. and north korea. president trump announced increased sanctions and kim jong un is now threatening to test a hydrogen bomb over the pacific ocean. >> reporter: a fiery war of words amid escalating tensions, president trump tweeting this morning, kim jong un of north korea who is obviously a mad man that doesn't mean starving or killing his people will be tested like never before. that tweet coming on the heals of hints of frightening new weapons taste. >> now that president trump has unassaulted me in the eyes of the world and the most for others declaration of a war. and we will consider a level of counter measure in history. the foreign minister says that could include testing a hydrogen bomb over the pacific ocean in

targeted shooting in the kensington section of the city. the victim a 38-year-old man was sitting in a van when another man on the bike rode up to him and opened fire. the victim was shot once in the arm and leg and was taken to episcopal hospital and he was listed in critical condition. no arrests were made and they are look agent whether nearly surveillance cameras captured the incident. two men sitting in the car were shot in the city's straw ber i mansion section. chopper 6 hd was over the scene at 8:30 last night. police say that a 33-year-old man in the driver's seat was shot in the chest and taken to hahnemann hospital where he later died. and police found a 31-year-old man they believe in the passenger seat of the vehicle and he was taken to the hospital with a head wound. and is listed in stable condition. no arrests have been made. classes are back in session

at the school district following a three day teacher strike over a contract dispute. john rawlins is in montgomery county with the agreement that allowed the schools to reopen. >> apparently the two sides had not been making progress at the bargaining table and now the focus is on a third party process that means at least for now the teachers are back at work. after three daysstrike, 7th through 12th graders back to class and younger students back off for an inservice day will return on monday. the walkout started last monday. the district said there would be a wage hike package and more divisive it wanted teachers to shoulder a higher cost share for health care. and aled and they agreed to abort offer for final best offer arbitration.

a woman and two children were rescued after a ship overturned off the coast of puerto rico. the coast guard received a distress call and lost contact with the vessel because of hurricane maria. officials were ale to locate the ship it was a research vessels that the family was using as a recreational vessel. a man was reported inside of the ship that the coast guard said was inaccessible to search and rescue crews. we have new information on the russian investigation. facebook admits that russia bought thousands of ads during the election.

in cape may, it looks beautiful however i wouldn't venture out into the water there. there is a high risk for rip currents today and even as we head into the weekend with jose churning into the atlantic. philadelphia we come in at 75 degrees and same for reading and lancaster. the poconos 75 and 75 at dover and the coast in cape may 73. a partly sunny skies across our region but you notice here is what is left of hurricane jose. a post tropical system and the rain affecting southeastern sections of new england and coastal sections of new england and because of that they are in and out of the wet weather and jose churns up the seas out of the atlantic. on top of that we have a coastal flood advisory at 3:00 today for atlantic city, ocean city down to cape may. ocean waves 4 to 6 feet and

minor flooding is a bit a concern. the call from accuweather for the rest of today. clouds and sun and unseasonably warm. we should be close to 76 and we are well above that today maxing out at 85 in philadelphia with a northerly wind. 8 to 16 miles per hour. and overnight tonight partly cloudy and comfortable with lower humidity and drop down to 66. in philadelphia with a northerly wind 7 to 14. down to the tropics we are watching hurricane maria. three. winds sustained 125 miles per hour. and move ago way from the turks and caicos islands but it will be getting closer tos and eastern sections of the bahamas as we head into the weekend. as this moves to the northwest and eventually the north. this will more than likely weaken as it travels and parallels the east coast. but we have good consensus that this will more than likely stay

offshore as we track it into early next week and a lot can change from now into then. and we'll keep you posted. here is the exclusive accuweather forecast warm and it's pleasant today. and it will not feel like fall. a high temperature of 85 degrees and the autumnal equinox begins at 4:02 when the sun direct's rays are right over the equator. and a high temperature of 88 degrees. sunday sunny and humid and high up to 91 and near record heat by monday with a high temperature of 91 degrees and partly sunny on tuesday and still hot. if we hit 90 this could be a heat wave in our fall season. on wednesday sunshine and clouds a high up to 84 and thursday we look dry with plenty of sun with a high temperature then coming in at 82. a warm fall weekend up ahead for us. if you are not ready to say good-bye you have warmth on the way.
