lives this weekend. the national weather service says hurricane maria will churn up the wears more as it moves west in the atlantic ocean. be careful. hundreds of vacationers are on a mandatory evacuation with strong winds and storm surge flooding could arrive tomorrow. a humanitarian disaster is unfolding on the u.s. territory of puerto rico. maria killed at least 16 people there. most of the 3.5 million survivors don't have enough food, fuel, fresh water, and electricity. the majority of the island's homes are in tatters. many people don't have a roof over their head. then there is concern over the dam possibly giving way. thousands are being told to evacuate. there are 80,000 people living

down water. fema's director arrived today amid calls by critics that aid has been slow. >> the investigation continues into the crash of a plane last night. it just missed hitting a home on meade road. part of the roof came to rest on the roof but the rest in the yard. the pilot, 29-year-old phillip beckner of maryland. he is in critical condition. a wilmington principal put on leave last week is back this week. family and staff gathered to rally behind him. the school board placed him on a leave of absence but wouldn't say why. a couple of hours after the rally, word came elle had been reinstated. the school board apologized

north off the cape hatteras coast. we have a cold front across the plains. it's not advancing eastward quickly. we have to wait for the front to move through, bring us cooler air and kick maria out to sea. tomorrow, temperatures fall south of 90-degrees. 84 by 2:00, 86 and feeling upper 80s with humidity levels. wednesday, we pum bump it up to 88-degrees. the cold front sweeps through, kicks maria out to sea and opens the door for cool canadian high pressure. friday feels like fall. saturday, fall chill. we keep the cool weather as we head through the weekend into early next week. people that don't like the heat and humidity, things are changing.

the award during a ceremony in middletown. august 29th, the students were onboard a bus when the driver suffered an emergency and cardiac arrest. the two removed the driver from the bus and began cpr until help arrived. unfortunately, the driver died at the hospital. officials wanted to recognize the boy's selflessness and their quick action. ♪ ♪ getting a cancer diagnosis is difficult.
