tom price now apologizing to tax payers for taking more than two dozen work trips on luxury jets. price said i was not sensitive enough for my concern for the tax payer. he said tax payers won't pay a dime for my seat on those planes. >> paying for my portions of the trips is a huge demonstration. it's unique it's never been done before. >> reporter: price spent more than $400,000 in tax payer money often those flights. he's reimbursing the government for the cost of his own seat, that amount $51,877.31. congress investigating the private travel of trump secretaries and travel agencies. now abc news confirmed interior secretary ryan zinke has taken several pricey flights of his own including $12,000 charter

plane to events in his hometown. scott pruitt and steven mnuchin both under fire for racking up thousands of dollars in flights including the flight mnuchin took with his wife top kentucky. >> now senator chuck grassley has written a letter directly to the president it says i'm urging you to emphasize to cabinet secretaries the necessity of using reasonable and cost effective modes of travel. that letter from chuck grassley to the president. >> the president pretty angry about this. >> the president is livid about it. you know the other day when he was asked whether or not he would fire tom price he said we'll see. >> meantime, jon on tax reform the white house putting out the framework for their tax reform yesterday. the opposition already mounting up on capitol hill. >> this is a heavy lift.

conflict. >> reporter: when asked to clarify the press secretary said this. >> i don't think there's much to clarify. >> reporter: while sanders says the issue is black and white a recent poll says public opinion is divided. 63% of whites said kneeling is inappropriate. 31% of nonwhites agreed. >> the president said the players are afraid of the players the packers owned by the fans. walker of the tennessee titans is getting death threats after he made a statement about supporting his team. this thing started as a silent protest is now spiraling into something that needs to calm down before we can get anything done. >> when unity is seen as a bad thing. aaron rogers said it many people complaining during the anthem

her sun roof. >> it shattered and the dust just poured in. we were trying to out run it like go let's go. at the same time my husband reached up and was like my head because it was bleeding. >> reporter: her husband injured. at least 30 climbers on the wall suddenly tens of thousands of rock falling. a vast dust cloud filling the valley. >> we cheated death. holy crap did we cheat death. >> reporter: the rock slide one day after a tourist was killed his wife badly injured after the slab the height of a 12 story building weighing 1300 tons fell on top of them. another couple honeymooners heard the granite fall. >> oh, my god. it's been a pretty crazy experience. >> reporter: what's happening still unclear. might be the huge temperature swings eroding the rock.

>> his release to get him to florida hasn't been filed meaning simpson could be spending time in las vegas the city where he got arrested. >> reporter: o.j. simpson's movements after he got released. tom scotto his best friend said once he's out he won't be shying away from the public eye. >> we're not going to hide. >> reporter: simpson granted parole in july after a fiery hearing where he said he was one of the best prisoners in nevada. >> i don't think any inmate represented better than i. >> reporter: by all accounts simpson has an unblemished prison record. as parole gets closer time gets harder. he's in protective custody. >> he's going a little crazy. he's a people person.

>> we're joined by o.j. simpson attorney malcom lavergne. when did you expect mr. simpson to be released? >> october 1st. that's a sunday. i think it's going to be unlikely the nevada department of corrections is going to have any resources to transfer mr. simpson anywhere. >> so when dupg it will happen? >> i don't know. i have confidence the nevada department of corrections has taken care of mr. simpson very well. mr. simpson has to go through nevada department of corrections and probation. at some point he'll have his release plans. >> are we talking days, weeks? >> i'm anticipating a few days. that's what i'm anticipating.

>> back on "gma" with the mother facing possible jail time for refusing to vaccinate her child. the issue coming to a head as she battles her ex in court. linsey davis here with that story. >> good morning robin. she says based on the research she's done it's not the best choice for her family. if that means going to jail so be it. >> reporter: this morning a detroit mom has a big decision to make. after a judge ordered her to get her 9 1/2-year-old son vaccinated or go to jail. >> i don't know how long she's willing to put me in. >> reporter: rebecca said when her child was little her and her husband agreed to space out

vaccines. she claims her ex was fine with that until last year he changed his mind wanting to follow a regular vaccination schedule. she refused. that decision has her at the center of a legal battle with her son's father. the court sided with him ordering continued vaccination. while the state of michigan allows parents to opt out for nonmedical reasons the american academy of pediatrics said vaccines have been part of the fabric of our society for decades. >> i would rather go to jail for standing up for what i believe in than vaccinating my child. >> an attorney for the boy's father told abc news it is our position this case is not truly about vaccinations it's a case about the mother refusing to

comport with the court's orders and actively frustrating the father's custody rights. >> thank you. we'll bring in dan abrams and jen is back with us. the mother says michigan has a waiver for parents. >> it does. the state allows parents to sign a document, to take classes and therefore to waive the necessity to get their children vaccinated. the problem here is you don't have the parents taking that position. you have a parent taking that position. you have a parent taking the other position. so a judge has weighed in and sided with the father and said, look, i have to make a decision here. i'm siding with the father. as a result this child is going to be vaccinated. this really isn't as much a case about personal choice and a case about do you abide by a court or. >> the state is trying to make this harder to get the waiver.

>> that's right. used to be you could sign a document and you could say for whatever reason we don't want vaccinated. >> jen, what about the mother's concerns we heard about this from other parents? >> about 40% of people in the country think that spacing them out is safer. there's no evidence of that. a study published showed that those children who have their vaccines delayed or spaced out have a higher risk of at the briel seizure, a seizure associated with fever. there's no reduction in autism risk or no reduction in cognitive performance. we have seen increases in measles and mumps as people skip
