complex in lakewood ocean county. several people were hurt including first responders who rush to rescue residents. jim is off, i'm monica malpass. the big story is a destructive blaze that tore through a three story building at covington village. jeff chirico is there live tonight. jeff? >> monica, in all nine people were hospitalized. eight of them are first responders. we are told none of their injuries appear to be life threatening. fire crews are wrapped up at the scene with you you ca but you ce that left 37 people homeless tonight. >> it was an emotional night as family members reunited with loved ones chased from their homes by fire. chopper 6 shows the fire ripping through the fire at this condo

building, at a 55 and over community. >> it was black smoke and then within ten minutes, the flames were just shooting up. >> joe heard a neighbor yelling and escaped his first floor condo with little more than what he was wearing. >> he said there's a fire in the back of the building. i grabbed my wife and we took off. >> crews searched all 3 30 unit. two police officers rescued a resident and all three were hoppizehophospitalized for smoke inhalation. they say this could have been worse. >> it's lucky it didn't happen in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping. >> red cross met with most of the 3 37 displaced by fire.

>> police in delaware county are looking for two robbers that left their victims bloody this morning. surveillance video shows the crime in progress at fisher auto in eastlands down 7:20 this morning. despite complying, the victims were pistol whipped and the robbers ran away with the cash. it took 60 years but a man has his wallet back. he got his property returned to him. it was stolen when his house was
