nevada. oj simpson has been freed on paroled after spending nine years in prison for his part in an armed robbery in las vegas. >> reporter: oj simpson is a free man. the former nfl appear movie star was granted parole after serving nine years of his 33 year sensor for a 2000 robbery conviction in las vegas. he took memorandum memorabilia d was his personal property. he walked out a free man. he is getting very excited. his attorney said during his final days in prison he was removed from generally population and into a more secure area for his safety. >> he was basically alone, not completely isolated but didn't have that collegial attitude.

>> reporter: simpson said he posed no threat. the board agreed. >> it's been a conflict free life. >> reporter: simpson was famously found innocent in the brutal slaying of his ex-wife nicole brown and ron goldman. he was found liable for their deaths in a civil case. while we respect the nevada parole board's decision to free simpson it's difficult for us to know he will be a free man again. two 14-year-old boys are in the hospital after being shot in wilmington. gunfire hit them in the legs at 30th and market around 11:45 p.m. they were taken to christiana hospital for treatment. police are trying to figure out who fired the shots and what led

to the violence. 150 people have been shot in wilmington. that's the highest number in several years. in a rare move, it is been said the gun violence has been epidemic. wilmington has a new police chief trying to reduce violence in the city. we turn to puerto rico and the push to recover from the devastating punch from hurricane maria. this is the drone showing some of the buildings that were demolished by the storm. entire communities and rationed waters, many remain desperate for necessities and power and fuel. president trump plans to visit puerto rico on tuesday, from his new jersey golf club he took to twitter to respond to the federal response and fire back at critics to say the response is too slow. the governor of puerto rico offered a hopeful update.
