and new york arrived in puerto rico to the sound of applause. they are there to help residents who are without food water an power. first responders are not the only ones answering the call for help. good samaritans are taking upon themselves to bring much-needed supplies to puerto rico. >> we need to tell people people can do something, let's stopwatching the news, all the doom and gloom about it, get up and do something about it. head to 6abc.com for more ways to help. a man was shot in the penns landing section, the 30-year-old victim was parking his suv at the intersection of vine and water when someone approached him and shot him multiple times. the victim's girlfriend found him a short time later and called 911. neighbors tell "action news" they would like more of a police

presence in the area. >> i would say maybe a little couple of more cops in the neighborhood and paying attention to this stuff. >> at one time we had a stronger police presence, i think. >> the victim's identity has not been released. we do know he was taken to hanheman hospital. he remains in critical condition after being shot in the neck, arm and shoulder. from our delaware newsroom a late night shooting in wilmington sent two teenagers to the hospital. shots were fired at the intersection of 30th and market. police tell "action news" two 14-year-old boys were shot in the legs. they were taken to christiana hospital to be treated. there is no word on their conditions or a motive for the shooting. immediately after the shooting, police say a large crowd formed and extra officers had to be called into the scene. no arrests were made. also happening in delaware, new castle county police are investigating a report of a jogger who was inappropriately

touched as she was running this weekend. this is a sketch of the man described to the police by the 42-year-old victim. she told police she was running on skyline drive when the suspect came out from behind the bushes and touched her rear end. the victim was not injured. if you recognize the person call police. a dollar general store was robbed in the spring garden section. the robbery happened on the 500 block of spring garden before 9:00 p.m. 9 robber got away with cash, but we don't know how much. it's unclear if the man was armed. no injuries were reported. 9:07 a.m. overnight before the sun came up, oj simpson was released from prison. he left the correctional center in northern nevada. he is now a free man. >> come on out. >> reporter: this morning, oj simpson is a free man. a first look at the infamous former sports and movie star

walking out of a prison in reno under the cover of darkness. >> we thought we would do this quietly and be under the radar. correctional center posted this picture of simpson. >> he signed release paperwork. we give everybody paperwork on their parole and where they are supposed to check in a little short of -- sort of thing. his mug shot disappeared from the prison website saturday. the prison or his reps saying nothing about his whereabouts. >> what's troubleing to me, not only him, but the whole system gives second chances to violent

>> so glad you stayed with us, 913, while it's only the first day of october, this weekend you may have thought was thanksgiving if you were out and about in south philadelphia. the floats for the thanksgiving day parade made a move to a new storage location. walter perez had it covered by ground and air. >> reporter: chopper 6 hd was overhead as 15 floats were pulled on trailers from a facility in the navy yard to warehouse in southwest philadelphia. >> all the floats were built by us, they are on trailers they are very stable.

moving, maybe five to ten miles per hour to the east. that means it will be in control of the weather for the next several days. when you get the huge area of high pressure the air sinks under the highs. you'll not see much in the way of clouds. future tracker 6, high, thin wispy clouds for the jersey shore, mouth of the delaware bay. everyone else seeing full sun. monday we do it all over again. as we expands the view. there's the high right there, monday, tuesday, wednesday, that high pretty much keeps everything at bay out to the west. this cold front will slide through, it doesn't get in here until thursday night and friday, at that point it's running into the high, it's eating away at all the moisture. as the frontal system pushes through, we're not expecting much in the way of rain. sunny skies, pleasant call from accuweather, 70 degrees. winds out of the south 5 to 10 miles per hour. hour by hour every single time

crisis in puerto rico. there's difficult delivering supplies to rural area because damaged or debris clogged roads. virtually everyone according to the governor remains without electricity. it could take months before power is restored. the people of puerto rico need all the help they can get. it is why they applauded when first responders from new york and new jersey answered the call. we found there were others who answered the call to help. good samaritans arrived here on their own to bring much-needed supplies. >> we put out a blast on facebook, her school did a drive. we got free tubs from home depot we brought 600 pounds only 3 of us could carry. we delivered to the staff at united to deliver to the communities yesterday. >> reporter: they are flying

block of water street in penns landing. quiet, calm. around 2:00 a.m. that changed. detectives say the 30-year-old man in the cadillac suv was attacked shot in the neck, arm and shoulder nearly killed. at this point no word on suspects or a motive. it's disturbing news for those who live hear. >> i've lived hear over 13 years i had to think about and take a look at google maps and find out where it was. it's near where i parked. >> reporter: that's a neighbor who stopped by to talk about what happened. he called for neighbors to be vigilant. >> people have to start paying attention to what's going on. >> reporter: sam is a member of the liberty sailing club that's on the corner. he said one of their members was attacked blocks away. >> one of our club members was mugged on columbus boulevard two weeks ago. >> reporter: police say the victim's girlfriend lives around here and he briefly parked on the street to get garage keys. his girlfriend said he never
